I want to add the caveat that I did not wind up booking ACME for my mold situation because it was urgent, but I had such a stellar consultation with them that I have to give credit where it's due. Michael did an exceptional job of assisting me over the phone when I was trying to find help for a very serious mold infestation in our home. He explained the 3 step process of inspection (not their domain), remediation (what they actually handle), and a follow-up inspection. The questions that he asked me about the situation immediately clued me into his expertise and experience. He even emailed me a list of 5 recommended inspectors to help me get started. I also appreciate his empathy through this nightmare and trying to handle it with an HOA. Michael even followed up a few days after our call to make sure we found everything we needed. Worst experience. It took them 4 tries to clean a small closet. They left visible dust/mold behind multiple times and was left paying hundred of dollars on mold tests that failed. In addition, they don't answer their phones and take days/weeks to respond to basic requests. A 2 week job has turned into 5 weeks of wasted time and money. read more

Acme Clean Air did my mold restoration in February 2017 - the mold came back early this year and I called them. They told me it had nothing to do with them and the woman who I spoke to said "this conversation is over" - I called back again and she was much nicer, but still no resolution, she said their job was to remove the mold not to find cause of the mold. Therefore, I have to re do this whole procedure again, work starts again this week. Had the person been more helpful or just given me direction into what to do it would have been really helpful. Terrible experience. I suggest if you use these people, check the source of your mold and make sure they do a thorough job. Sorry ACME - if I could give you less that one star I would! read more

I have never had an instance where I've needed to use a company to do mold remediation but I can assure you no one else could have been as professional and thorough as Acme Clean Air. My contact person there was Katie and she was absolutely amazing and their service was impeccable. Katie's attention to detail and customer service was beyond reproach. She was a pleasure to work with and made the whole situation much less stressful. And believe me mold remediation can definitely be stressful. So thank you Katie! We were kept informed of the process every step of the way including daily PDFs reporting what had been done and what was found with regard to mold infestation. This also included photographs of the problem as well as the photographs of the finished remediation. Incredibly helpful! The mold was a major problem but Acme Clean Air completely managed the situation in our apartment building is now mold free thanks to their diligence and hard work. Acme's WORK was very UNPROFESSIONAL for the job they were asked to do - inspect for moisture & mold. The worker cut several pieces of drywall to check behind the wall, leaving the cut outs and all the drywall dust just sitting on the floor. This was just plain sloppy work. Plus the worker turned on and and LEFT ON the fireplace for part of the day. There was no reason to have even turned it on. By leaving it on after he left while no one was there, he put our home at risk of fire. This was not acceptable. After several calls (with no return calls) I spoke with the owner and complained. It seemed like he didn't even hear what I was saying. To make the wrongs a right, it appears, he threw a ten percent discount at me. This was an insufficient apology and inadequate discount in light of the sloppy work and risk of fire that his worker created. read more

They took photos of the crawl space to document the problem. Their bid was competitive. The service men were polite, punctual and were careful to protect the inside of the house since working in a crawlspace can be messy . Acme came in to perform mold remediation under a sink cabinet in our Los Angeles winter home. Home inspection had flagged the problem but first contractor never returned my calls after supplying a quote. Acme was recommended by a Director of our Homeowners Association as the gold standard. They arrived to scope the job right away, gave me a clear analysis of what needed to be done and how it would be done, and even recommended a carpenter to rebuild inner contaminated cabinetry. Work was done a few days later, timely scheduled arrival, all floors covered and room sealed, work finished within the day, and fan left running for two days to fully complete the job. Acme did a great job with mold remediation on my mother's house. When mold was discovered in 5 different areas of the house, I was referred to a company called Magic Maintenance (MM). MM was awful! I signed a contract with them for 5K, and then later they told me that they found tens of thousands of dollars of work. Since I already had paid them some money, and they already started remediation, I was hesitant to leave. Long story short, they were milking the fact that I already was knee deep in their sh*t, and it was hard to get out. Luckily, my friends referred me to Acme. Even though the project was halfway done, Acme came out to give me an estimate on the remaining work. Their estimate was about $4,000 cheaper than MM! Even though it was a pain, I decided to switch to Acme. They had the whole place cleaned up in just a few days, and within their quoted price. I saved thousands of dollars. And I know that they did a good job because the mold inspector came out to reinspect and they issued me the certificate that there was no mold. Thank you Acme! read more

In the middle of a remodel, our general contractor discovered mold and mildew behind the walls, throughout the insulation, and vapor barrier. I called Acme to schedule a walkthrough for a bid yesterday morning. They were booked through the end of the day and could give me an appointment early/mid the following morning. I explained that I was very nervous about it as I was seven months pregnant. They were able to fit in a very tight appointment within a few hours since I was so close to their location. During the inspection, they diagnosed the type of mold and the root cause. I had an estimate for repair by close of business and... literally LESS THAN 24 hours after my first call to them - they remediated the mold issue and set up HEPA filters to run for the next two days to purify the air. I went with them for their cheaper rates and I wasn't impressed. The foreman showed up not knowing what he was supposed to do and I felt they tried to cut corners. My environmental specialist had to get involved to get the job done correctly. Ultimately, we passed inspection but I wouldn't use them again. read more
