I was immediately impressed by Paul's depth of knowledge and unique experience related to native design which set him apart from the rest of the field in North Texas. Fast forward 10 months and two extensive design implementations later (front and back yards) I couldn't be happier with the results. The results are two of the most uniquely designed & implemented yards in all of DFW. The backyard is completely native southwestern landscaping with rock, cactus and agaves imported from all over Texas, Arizona, and California. In contrast the front is classic southern with original elements picked up in New Orleans and Savannah. In the end the pictures, which I have posted here, speak for themselves. If you are looking for someone to develop and implement a totally unique high end design Paul is your best option in North Texas hands down. His design acumen puts him in a category all his own in North Texas and on par with the best native landscape architects from across the country including places such as Palm Springs, CA and Austin, TX.

First to repair a rock wall that had not been built correctly by a previous contractor and was starting to fall over. Paul and his crew completely disassembled the wall, put in a more solid base and rebuilt the wall the right way. Second, we had Texas Nativescapes fix a drainage and erosion issue that was causing damage to our back fence. Paul and his team removed about 240 sq ft of grass and dirt and replaced with base of decomposed granite and river rock. Both finished projects look great.

Nowles Enterprises is not a place worthy of your business. :( I Strongly recommend you save your…read moretime and avoid this place as it is currently managed like a dumpster fire. I've come here three times trying to set up an order for Oklahoma Flagstone for my greenhouse I built in January. The first time I met a blonde lady in the office who acted like my grandmother and I were idiots for not having researched the process to order before showing up even though we have been customers of Nowles for years. The second time, we spoke with a young man in very tight shorts who promised to put our name down on a list and call us back as they were "busy planting grasses!" Three weeks later, I call again and get the blonde lady who sounds frustrated I'm bothering her with a call only to learn there is no list and she wants to start the process over again. There was ONE lovely gentleman, named Carlos, who stopped what he was doing and politely helped us each time we showed up. I hope he gets a raise!! Currently Nowles is a waste of time and energy. Reading through previous reviews, it sounds like management is trying their very best to drive this business ALL the way into the ground.

All spring I have been re-doing my landscaping all around my newly purchased home. I procured river…read morerock from Noles only after I had procured it from another establishment. The only reason I tried Noles is because it was closer to my house for the transport of the rock and their website and staff proclaim the cost for 1 cubic yard of river rock is $90. Which is within a few dollars of what I paid at the other establishment for 1 cubic yard. However, the problem is, Noles only gives you half of the amount of product that that other provider does. I have since gone back to the competitor 2 more times and have received the same amount of rock as the first time I frequented them for the $95 they advertise. Which is double what you would get from Noles even though they advertise they will give you the same amount. Once again, the cost is relatively the same both places. I verified with not only the gentlemen that loaded the rock at Noles but also the gentlemen that sold me the rock that this was the correct amount given to. They both said yes. So, moral of the story is do not go to Noles because you will get ripped off. They will only give you half the amount of product they advertise you are obtaining and pay for.

John was very good at communicating throughout the process and he beat out multiple other bids to win my business. I was impressed with his crew's ability to come in and get the job done on time, in a very efficient manner. They showed up at 8:30am and they were done at 2:00pm. That's a lot of work to get done in a short amount of time and the quality speaks for itself. We are impressed. John was also understanding when we had an issue with payment after the installation process. I'd recommend this company to friends and I'd use them again for my next project with zero hesitation.

I cannot express the relief knowing this job was done correctly on time and on budget. It met all my requirements and the city of Plano's. My wife and I had been looking for several years to have the driveway replaced. We could never find a company to perform the work either because it was "too" small of a job or they had questionable review ratings. I will not spend money if there is any question whether the job will not be completed successfully to my standards. I grew up working summers for my uncle's construction company. I am also an engineer. I can tell if work has been "gun decked"; a naval term for cutting corners. I will do without rather than take on new problems. I noticed my neighbor was in the process of having his driveway replaced. Viewing the installation impressed me. The driveway had been removed. The crew had already laid the sand foundation and were tying the rebar into place. It was evident to me they had the skills and knowledge to perform their jobs correctly since it was the way I had been taught. I spoke with the crew about the tasks they were performing and why they were doing it a certain way. Texas clay is the worst ground you can build on. I grew up in Michigan where there is excellent topsoil that is anywhere from 9 to 24 inches deep. Construction methods are different here due to the poor soil conditions. The crew were friendly during my interactions and then provided me their company name. I went home and began investigating the company for reviews, complaints, and BBB ratings. Next step was to call the company for a consultation. John the owner immediately returned my call and was over my house the next day to discuss my construction requirements. With my due diligence completed I provided all information to my wife for discussion. She spoke with John herself, and a date was set to replace our driveway the following week. Patio Doctor handled all of Plano's permits and inspections. All activities, from getting paperwork approved by the city to the completion of work were seamless to me. I did not participate in any conversations regarding issues that occurred. Patio Doctor took responsibility for them; they sought solutions and implemented them. This is a task for which they get paid. They delivered outstandingly. Our driveway has been completed, and we are elated with the work performed. Due to the relationship, we have built with John, we have approved of an agreement to have his company install a custom-built carport next spring. Our neighbor had one installed recently, and it is stunning in its design and craftmanship. We look forward to our installation. Patio Doctor is a company that is fair and equitable in its business practices; engage them. You owe it to yourself to include them in your due diligence for having construction work performed. One more metric can be a game changer in your decision-making process. I will add that laying cement requires true craftmanship. There are so many variables that need to be formulated for it to be installed correctly. This is the reason you need a "seasoned" expert. These installations are too expensive for subpar work. Thank you, John and crew, for your outstanding workmanship and excellent results.
