Hot day in Venice and was packed outside, but had plenty of tables inside with air. The Food was great, service was good, and definitely recommend. We over-ordered on pizza but it was all good. Carbonara pizza, sausage and anchovies. Not a bad pizza. The prosecco and red win finished it off.

THE BEST MEAL I HAD IN ITALY! Apparently, the owners own Il Ridotto (the Michelin star next door). If you look at Il Ridotto's window, its held a Michelin star for 10 years now. We ordered a calamari and seafood ink pasta. The calamari was lightly breaded and fried perfectly! The calamari consisted of vegetables and seafood, both incredibly delicious! The lemon added the perfect bite to a phenomenal dish. The seafood pasta included tomato, cucumber, squid, all lightly drizzled with olive oil. The noodles were cooked to PERFECTION and I was slurping these noodles so fast, it was gone in minutes! The waiters were super funny and friendly! I definitely recommend if you don't want to break the bank next door!

We are so happy the concierge Pier at our Hotel Savoia & Jolanda recommended this restaurant. Well we devoured all this food, OMG it's so so delicious, we ask the locals where to eat & spot on. Marco our amazing, hardworking, friendly waiter was so nice. The staff was friendly and helpful of one another. It's our first time in Venice and it started out PERFECT with this amazing meal. Thank you very much Marco & Pier for this amazing restaurant.

Food was good, service was awful. Our server gave us a literal TIN OF ANCHOVIES when we asked for the anchovies & burrata - & then proceeded to debate with us about whether we ordered this menu item or not. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. We left feeling upset because he ruined our meal. Worst restaurant of our trip to Venice, solely because of this server.

Seating is modest, but decor is a bit nicer.

Had the beef fillet in peppercorn sauce with a creamy potato square dish a bit like polenta. Seriously delicious. The beef quality was excellent and cooked a perfect medium as I asked. The sauce was fantastic with a hint of mustard and a solid peppery kick. My girl had the vegetarian pizza. It was good, but could have been more flavorful. She had a pinot grigio which she liked enough to have a second glass. Dinner came with bread which was very good. Flavorful and fresh. We finished by sharing a tiramisu which was superb. It hit all the right flavor notes and was not too sweet. My beef fillet was 24€. I'm a bit surprised that the restaurant is listed as €€€. It seems less expensive, like €€. But I'm not sure how the price rating is calculated so my perception may be inaccurate.

I came here for cecchetti and was not disappointed. This place has a great selection and is centered in a little square. It was great for people watching munching on some cecchetti and enjoying a nice drink. This is also a restaurant, but I don't recommend eating dinner here. I had a Spritz with campari and my husband had a negroni (lots of alcohol). We split the bruschetta and had a crostino de pesce (it was cuttlefish). They were both very good. The crusts were crunchy and the tomato's were pretty good. Overall, it was a great experience to people watch and drink some great alcohol.

A nice place to have a spritz and sample from a selection of ciccheti at an outside table on a relatively uncrowded square. Good choice of wines by the glass. Pizzas were decent too.

My husband and I ordered 4 flavors (2 each) but we should've just shared 3 instead. Order and pay at the counter, find a seat, and watch for your order to be done. Loved the wine options. The small space fills up quickly but we were lucky to find a spot for 2 by the window. It was a great spot to people watch the street outside as well. After, walk a few blocks/steps to Suso for gelato/dessert!

Instead of handling it professionally, a tall blonde employee immediately snapped at me, saying, "Why would you put your card down? That's not your bill." I apologized right away, but she continued to act incredibly rude--rolling her eyes, shaking her head, and talking under her breath while processing the refund. It only got worse from there. When I reached for a slice that had been placed in front of me, she barked, "No, that's not yours." At that point, I felt completely unwelcome and didn't even want the food anymore, so I asked for a refund so I could leave. She refused, claiming the pizza was already in the oven and that I "had to pay for it." She then tried to say I only ordered one slice, when I very clearly ordered four. The entire situation was handled in the most unprofessional, hostile way possible. There was zero accountability, no basic customer service, and the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I have never been treated like that at any business. Save your money and go somewhere else.

It's a cozy little bar. Staff is fantastic, friendly and helpful - despite being very very busy at all times. It's popular with both locals and tourists. And for good reason. They've got a huge range of fantastic cicchetti. And nice, affordable wine, prosecco and more. There are only four tables outside and limited space to stand inside. Most visitors just hang around in front of the Bar. We've managed to get a table each visit still. We've had some of our favorites again: Gorgonzola with anchovies, some with sardines, some with bacalau. Some with prosciutto or lardo. Smoked fish or salmon All great stuff. But also this time we've discovered some new ones: With crudo di mare (raw fish/seafood), shrimp and sour onions, mushroom cream topped with mushrooms, bacon and artichokes. They've also got other snacks like fried bacalau. Really: Every single item here was delicous. They are just the best at what they're doing. And that since a long time. It never disappoints and is well worth the money. Depending on the day and time they do not always have all and/or the same cicchetti. Even more reason to come back to get some more. And we will definitely be back.

I got there close to when it opened so it wasn't crowded and I was able to order right away. I decided to try a few of their cichetti that had seafood on it like fish and fried squid. These are all bite-sized so I would definitely recommend getting multiple to try out the different flavors, especially with the different cheeses/creams they add. The food here was very fresh, and I liked the flavors a lot so I'm glad that I went to try it out. Overall, if you're in Venice then this is a good spot to check out!

Despite this, I was very favorabley impressed when I first visited Osteria ai Pugni; it's unquestionably among my top three favorite bars in "The City of Water". On my first visit, a friend and I stopped in here for a pre-dinner cocktail. We planned to find a restaurant to eat dinner in afterwards, but we found the drinks, service, and the ambiance here so much that we ended up staying the right of the evening. We enjoyed quite a bit of their exceptionally good wine, skipped dinner and made a meal out of the amazing cicchetti. Yes, the food is wonderful and the wine list truly outstanding, but it's the exceptional service that brings everything together. It's what made our first visit so memorable. Every single member of the staff we interacted with was amazingly attentive and very friendly. They all seemed to want to go the extra mile to make our experience here exceptional. All their cicchetti recommendations were spot on, and they even let us try samples of the wines they recommended to pair with our food. Tip: All the cicchetti we tried was first-rate, especially the polenta based dishes. We found them to be a delightful alternative to the more common bread-based cicchetti. Bottom line: The hospitality here is 2nd to none, the service is exceptional, and the wine list has something for everyone. Add to that how reasonable the prices are, and it's a foregone conclusion that I plan to become a regular. Highly recommended!
