I would not recommend this storage facility at all. We had 2 units there and in one of the units we…read morealways had ants, lots of ants. And any time you called the front desk to report the ants or any issues the owner is always very rude and always made excuses. The grounds keeper has a pack of dogs which attacked me and bit my leg one morning and I called the owner to see about paying for me to have it checked out and he told me I should have called the police and that it was not his responsibility. It is a gated facility, but the gate is always broken or off its track and left wide open for anyone to enter, not very safe. A couple of times, what looked like homeless person hanging out in one of the empty units, I made sure never to go out there alone. They are one of the least expensive in town, but you get what you pay for with these guys. Stay far away from this place!

Quite easily the worst business experience I have had in 10 years in Abilene…read more During a recent ice storm, I received a phone call from AAA 1:00 p.m. letting me know that someone had broken in to our unit. Due to the door damage the thief couldn't get anything out of the unit. We filed a police report upon arrival.  We were told that not only were the security cameras not working at the time but the gates had been tied open as well allowing easy access for anyone to enter. My husband was told that our options were to move to another unit at that moment or to take our stuff and leave.  He was told that it would take 2-weeks to have the door repaired  We do not own a trailer, it was in the 30s, raining, and we had all of our children at home due to a snow day.   When we asked if there were other options we were quickly told no.  Mr. Peterson wouldn't talk to my husband on the phone and he wouldn't come to the facility to assess the damage either.  We expressed our disappointment and frustration with Marie.  After my husband, with the help of the APD police officer that came to file the report, managed to push the door down a little, he went to the office to determine what our next steps should be.  At this point he was served with an eviction notice.  He read the entire eviction terms with Marie present and we had no violations. It is still unclear as to why we, the victim of burglary were served with an eviction notice. We were told that it's because we "disagreed with Gary." Per the unlawful eviction notice we were given a move out time frame of 30-days, meaning we had to be out by March 23.   We received an email on Friday, February 23 stating that the eviction noticed would be rescinded if we would apologize for disagreeing and "threatening to let other people know what had happened." By this time we had already secured another location per the recommendation of our attorney. We removed our belongings 3 days later when the ice melted. It was the largest unit they had, and we worked for almost 8 hours to empty the unit, and stopped due to darkness. Due to the door damage from the burglary it was not possible to pull the door up or down as it is off the track.  When my husband arrived the next morning to remove our remaining items and to sweep the unit out, everything was gone.  Initially, he believed the items were stollen, but shortly discovered it all in the dumpster.   I called Marie and was told that maintenance assumed we didn't want the items and put them in the dumpster. The unlawful eviction notice stated that we had to vacate the facility within 30 days. They entered and cleaned out our unit 3 days after the notice. I received no phone call, email, or communication otherwise.   AAA Storage  failed security that  was promised when we moved into the facility over 4 years ago.  Due to this, we were broken into. Within 90 minutes of that, we were unlawfully evicted. We never received even as much as an "I'm sorry your unit was broken into." We have been a model customer; paying on time an in full up front for 2 years, and then paying by auto-bank draft on 2 units for the last 2 years.   The experience was surreal to say the least. We now use A2Z, which is much friendlier and cost-effective.
