Although I've not eaten "in" at Ace's, it is the "go to" place for some friends who live in the Mission area. On several occasions, they have purchased and served BBQ'ed meat from Ace's when entertaining at their home. I've enjoyed their ribs, BBQ brisket and pork. All three were excellent. Tender, smokey, flavorful - just like BBQ should be. I love supporting local businesses, rather than chains. This will for sure be a place we will visit in person sometime soon. read more

I usually order to go about once or twice a month from here, and it's hit or miss.. I get it to go because my husband doesn't like to eat here anymore because he's been disappointed too many times.. I still come back, because when it's good, it's amazing! But today's meal was a disappointment.. I had the Ace's taquitos with brisket.. as soon as I opened the box, I was a little upset about the amount of meat they put for the 6 tacos.. you shouldn't have to ration it out as you eat because you're worried about running out of meat. Then, the tortillas were cold.. I live 3 minutes away, they didn't get that cold that fast.. and what meat was on there, was all hard, crusty, dried out end pieces.. I'm sure I'll be back, but it's going to be awhile before I give it another chance. read more

My family and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Thier food is good, better than some of the other joints we have been to down here. I say good because we could all tell this was "oven" BBQ. Thier tea was good and the waitress was very helpful to my family as first timers. My major complaint was the fries. They tasted like fish... So the fact I ordered two orders of them was a disappointment. If this is your first time here, I'd stick to the brisket and potatoes. Really good BBQ. I've had the 1/2 chicken which is the best I've had from any BBQ restaurant, only second to my own backyard BBQ. The CatFish is consistently amazing. The sides are really good and the cobbler is as well. I'm sure the other meat items are just as good I just haven't tried them. I forgot to add the service is excellent. All of the sides tasted homemade and fresh from the potato salad to the beans and rice to the pico- everything we sampled was very tasty. Portions were ample and the prices reasonable. Good food but confusing menu. Ordered two meat combo plate and was charged for bbq rib dinner because ribs and chicken are not included in the two meats. The cole slaw was really chopped raw cabbage with very little slaw dressing. The catfish was very tasty. read more

Although the brisket was ok, it was small. The sides are enormous and taste more plain than stale white bread, which is funny because they serve you that too. Way too overpriced. Old people seem to love this place though and enjoy the live music so if you like reminiscing about the good 'ole days in the country, this place is perfect for you. read more

Fast,friendly service. I had (the Carolina ) and it was large and delicious. The waiter was prompt and even brought us a peach cobbler for being first time customers. Definitely will be back for more. Would recommend Aces bbq.One week later we went back and was just as good as before. read more

I gotta say that I was a little disappointed with Ace's. I went over to The Brisket Haus and found out it was closed. I saw I sign that said "Go to Ace's BBQ". Brisket was excellent. Too much dry brisket in the valley, but this was very moist and melt in your mouth tasty! I wish they had a condiment bar to load up on onions, jalapeños and pickles - just not enough on the plate. We will be back to try the pork shoulder! read more

last time i ate there the meat was cold and was just little chunks of meat that tasted bad and looked like canned dog food. the time before that the 1lb of brisket we got was burnt and over half of it was fat and it looked gross. i gave them 2 chances time to look somewhere else read more

So after reading the reviews, I decided to give this bbq place a try. I was heavily disappointed with the food quality. The brisket was dry, over cooked, and tasted like liquid smoke. The sides were blander than metamucil. I let one of the staff members know that I was unsatisfied with the food. All I got in response was, so sorry... I now question the validity of these reviews. Called in a to-go order and was given a 15 minute pick-up time. Arrive at the restaurant, only to wait at the register to be recognized because they had two cashiers packing orders, it took the cook to draw her attention in order to be told I'll be with you. When I was finally, greeted she realized she hadn't placed the order I had called in, and then she assigned someone else to enter the order, with a simple "I forget!" After about 20 minutes and with the help of another employee, the issue was finally addressed and the order was ready, all while the original cashier who took the call-in order was standing by with a smirk and appointing other employees to do other tasks.
