Bottom line: The food is great, but the place has a lot of problems with the accuracy of their online ordering -- stick with the Cambridge location when ordering online until Boston figures their stuff out. I'm going to focus on one recurring problem: most people know the garlic sauce at this place is amazing, and its the main reason I keep coming back -- but if you request sauces online you'll get it less than half the time. Every other week or so my wife and I will bulk order about $80-100 worth of shawarma salads or plates, and eat it over the course of the week (really great fit for our diet -- we treat this almost like a 'meal kit'). We tried switching from the Cambridge location to the Boston location since it is closer and cheaper (we could use Grubhub instead of Postmates) -- but it has been a mild disaster. The last three times we've ordered from this location, there were issues with our orders. It is beyond disappointing when you realize that all five plates that you ordered don't have any sauce (or have another issue). Not to be overly dramatic, but for me personally I'd rather the food not arrive at all than have the food arrive with no sauces. As good as the food is, we've lost too much money playing roulette with their online ordering to continue. We've called management to complain about omissions, but they've been uninterested in fixing our orders, which is perhaps the most frustrating part. read more

***READ THIS*** I love this place - it is really quite good. The chicken can be a bit dry but the spicy chicken wrap & Greek salad are amazing. The tabouleh is quite salty, though It claims to be healthy - perhaps it is. BEWARE: The "garlic sauce" and "Aceituna spicy sauce" are in fact mayonnaise. So be aware of that as they slap on 5 tablespoons to your order. read more

I'm so happy that Aceituna re-opened!! The staff was very friendly, they provided quick service, and the food never disappoints!! I had the lamb and beef rice plate and it was a great option for lunch. I'm going to come back for the sangria + chips! read more

The flavors of their food were spot on. The meal was really tasty. We got chicken over rice with the garlic sauce. We do love the garlic! Side dishes were tabbouleh, moussaka and falloush and Greek salad. They were delicious. The restaurant delivered to North Reading this evening at no cost to us. I cannot thank them enough for a lovely dining in experience. Thank you for coming to North Reading. Aceituna recently started delivering to Jamaica Plain and I'm so glad they did! We've ordered twice now and both times the food was delicious, healthy, on time, and plentiful. The fried cauliflower is a new fav and this time, we got the moussaka and rice with lentils, too - both extra yummy. And, they donate a meal to healthcare workers when you purchase your own meal. I think Aceituna is great for what it is. Located in what we call "bowl row" - it's great for a Mediterranean somewhat healthy alternative to Chipotle, Yoki or Tikkaway. The staff is great, the food is good, and the restaurant was always clean when we have stopped in there. I would highly recommend this for a fast casual lunch or dinner. read more

After frequenting Aceituna Grill for lunch on a weekly basis, I've become a solid fan. Management takes feedback seriously and consistently improves each visit. I've wanted to try the pita roll-ups for awhile, but I keep going for the half greek salad half rice plate with shawarma spicy chicken and fried cauliflower! Good quality, flavorful food that's nearly on par with sit-down Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurants and keeps you coming back for more. Seriously, sometimes I go twice in a week! Appropriate price point. I'd love it even more if the spicy chicken was actually spicy, but at least there's the sauce bar. I have noticed, however, on my last couple of visits that they've been cutting back the portions, which I don't mind much since it's lunch time. read more

I was in town for work and Aceituna was conveniently located near my office. Went at 1 o'clock and there was still a short line. I had questions about the menu and was met with unintelligible muttering. Not helpful. I then ordered the rice bowl with beef/lamb. And here's where I think they have a problem ... the assembly line is all out of order! He asked what 2 sides I wanted, I ordered Greek salad and roasted cauliflower. Odd, he didn't put the cauliflower in and just passed it down. So then the guys putting the toppings on it (still no meat either) and I was trying to figure out what everything was, and he said how about some hummus. Okay. So he plops it down in the side dish. I shared that I had already asked for cauliflower, I get an annoyed look, and then he throws 2 pieces of cauliflower on top. He then proceeds to put the meat on and I asked for A LOT of tahini on top. However, he gives me just a tiny bit. I ask for more and he ignores me. Nice. My colleague also got a bowl with cauliflower as one of her sides. She was disappointed it was cold. All in all, between the poor service and just okay food, not really a favorite. read more

O.K. Here's the deal. I never thought anything could top my TRANSCENDENT experience at Aceituna Grill Kendall Square location. But NO! I was THoROUGHLY mistaken. The instant I stepped in, I KNEW. The bright colors, the friendly smiles, the FINE scent of the Mediterranean ITSELF wafting my way like the sweet, warm breath of Aphrodité. I got a side of moussaka, a melange of chickpeas, eggplant, tomatoes, onions and DELIGHTFUL spices served chilled. The hummus was a MUST. And easily the MOST AUTHENTIC I've had since my cousin's wedding in Beirut. I heard whispers it takes three days to make... Homemade is TOUGH, but SO worth it (for me L.O.L.!! :)) Beer and wine have made their GRAND debut! WHOA. Look out, Seaport!! This spot is a MUST. I go every week! --KG P.S. I'm so confused by the reviews on here. I grew up eating middle eastern food, and this place is by far the closest to being authentic you can get. I've tried the tabouleh, fattoush, rice pilaf, spicy and regular chicken, beef/lamb,hummus, and spicy potatoes. The hummus is delicious, and this is coming from someone who has had home made hummus growing up! I work in the area, so i go around 11:30am to beat the lunch crowd. I highly recommend this place. Gina, the owner, is so sweet and friendly. I've never been disappointed. read more

Love this place! Great spot for a quick and healthy lunch. Their falafel is one of my favorites in the city, and I'm obsessed with the delicious and crunchy baked cauliflower they serve as a side. I gave a 5 stars at the opening because the manager was Doing a good job but oh man now. The staffs don't care anymore. My friend stop going because the staff was so rude and not helpful because that was his first time there. I experienced the bad customer service myself. I hope the manager reads this and do a better job at training there. They can be very rude and impatient like you are wasting their time even tho nobody on line behind you. I love the shawarma but don't like the way you get treated there. Went there with my wife for lunch. I ordered the beef-lamb shawarma. I love the options to add. Love the tabule, spice potatos and the garlic sauce. All the ingredients were very fresh. My wife ordered the falafel pita, I tried and it was delicious. The falafel was just made. Also love the baklava. I'm a big fan since I visited Turkey and the one in aceituna brought me back memories of that wonderful trip. I'm definitely going back G. read more

I've worked in the area for years and am so happy to see so many new and exciting lunch places popping up. Construction detoured me down a new sidewalk and I stumbled upon this! I'm so happy I did! It was busy when I went at 1pm, but the line moved very fast and there was no wait for the food. It's all put together in front of you. There were plenty of places to sit too. Huge portions and very friendly service. Everyone was smiling and helpful! I ordered the Greek salad with spicy chicken shawarma, and hummus and tabbouleh for sides. It came with a pita for a little over $10 with tax. The chicken wasn't really hot/spicy, but had a nice zing. The tabbouleh had tons of lemon and the pita was thin and fresh. So good...I didn't think I'd eat the whole plate, but I couldn't stop. I think next time I'll try the rice with beef/lamb, and the moussaka and fried cauliflower as sides. Very clean and the staff was walking around wiping tables and checking on customers. A nice touch. Overall, great experience and I'll definitely be back (often). read more

The food here is amazing! Great place for lunch and dinner. The staff are extremely friendly.

With the influx of restaurants in the seaport area, Aceitina is a welcomed addition to add Mediterranean flare into the mix. The menu is easy to understand, choose 1) either rice, salad or a pita as the base, 2) protein - lamb/beef combo, chicken, spicy chicken, falafel and lastly 3) two sides. At the point of check-out, you're offered a pita. Off to the side, make sure to check out the sauces - spicy red sauce, garlic white sauce and another likely yogurt based sauce? Here's the rundown: - Fairly large portion size for the rice platter - Rice is a long grain pilaf; lightly seasoned - Spicy chicken - some pieces tasted a little mushy rather than nicely crisped and charred; the rotating spit should provide even cooking temp. But I should note that I went at the end of the day, so there wasn't much meat left on the rod. The spice factor is very mild - Babbaganoush - nice smoky flavor but a little salty for my liking - Fattoush - good big chunks of tomato and cucumber; good balance of acidity; wish I got more... the servers are very caredul in only giving a "flat" serving of the sides, no heaping spoonfuls here - Pickled turnips - those hot pink pickled "fries"; not as crisp or sour as I had hoped; I was anticipating a nice crunch like a freshly made mini pickle... there was an upcharge to add this condiment - An observation - if you choose salad as your base, it's not what you might expect.... it's not leafy greens but rather a chunky tomato/cucumber/onion combo OR you get sad looking shredded iceberg lettuce Total: Just over $10.43; on balance, it's a healthy lunch or dinner option when you're in the area; worth giving it a try. read more

You only get one shot at making a first impression, and this was your first and last chance. While I wasn't necessarily expecting to have my socks blown off, I also wasn't expecting such an underwhelming meal. As others have noted, the staff behind the counter is a force to be reckoned with. Grunts, mumbles, and a general lack of interest permeated that side of the counter. I ordered a fairly straightforward dish: Salad bowl - Falafel for my protein, Greek Salad base, and two sides: hummus and rice with lentils. The last thing I expected on this earth was for the rice and lentils to be cold (like straight out of the refrigerator cold). The falafels were little pucks - hard, dry, and dense. The Salad was crispy but lacked any flavor whatsoever. It was swimming in something, which I thought was dressing, but turned out to be water - just plain water pooled at the bottom of the plate. Gross. read more

This is probably my favorite fast food Mediterranean restaurant in the seaport district. The line can get long, but it moves fast and worth the wait. There are plenty of options for vegetarians and meat lovers. Great condiment bar with plenty of special sauces. My favorite is the garlic sauce. read more

This is possibly the most disappointing falafel I've ever had. Two mediocre balls, wrapped in a store brand (I hope) pita, with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. I saw them put hummus on it, but it was so little, I wouldn't even count it. Maybe the salad would be better, but you can get a much, much better falafel sandwich in any number of other places. read more

Excited to see this place pop up. Line has been crazy, which I interpreted as a good sign. I had the Greek salad bowl with lamb/beef, hummus and tabouleh. Nothing really stood out. I enjoyed the food, but nothing made me think I need to rush back. I'll go back as a change of pace, and try some new things. Makes me think Piperi is worth the 10-min walk to Beacon. read more

This is shopping mall food court Greek food. Not the worst option if you work nearby and need a quick lunch but don't go out of your way for it. Also laughably overpriced but I guess that's just to fit in with the Seaport vibe. read more

I ordered two dishes and only received one sauce. I paid $2.00 for one extra sauce and didn't get it. Lamb/beef was overly tangy for my preference and my portion had mostly burnt pieces. The fried cauliflower side was mushy and over-cooked and an incredibly small portion. I'm sure some folx enjoy their falafel so I'll leave that one alone except to say that the menu says a side comes with 3 but I was given 2, and if you enjoy more moist (sorry ya'll, moist is an important word in the English language) and less flourly, you'd prefer Falafel King. More sauce would have helped but unfortunately I didn't have enough. Ultimately I preferred eating something else instead of finishing my food. I won't be eating here again because there are other tried and true options in the area and anything/everything can be delivered these days! read more

I've been to Aceituna before and it was fantastic. So fantastic, that when considering lunch options today, I convinced my coworker to make the trek over there. Unfortunately my experience ended up being very disappointing. The bad - 1. Greek salad - ended up being a bunch of green peppers, some onion and one tomato chunk - no cucumber, olives or feta cheese as advertised on their menu. As a feta lover, I was looking forward to those delicious, creamy chunks of cheese. 2. Beef - just okay... maybe just my palate, but I wasn't a fan. 3. Fried cauliflower - my coworker described it as 'ice cold, soggy, oily mush.' Not even worth eating - he threw most of it out. The good - They do have some good things going for them despite... 1. Hummus - pretty tasty and they give you a decent amount. 2. Falafel - definitely the highlight of my meal. Nice and crispy on the outside and good flavor, too. Paying close to $10 for a plate, I would expect better. read more

Had a very bad experience here. I ordered chicken shawarma rice plate, with mussaakka. I got was tasteless brown rice predominant plate with no taste. The falafel were oily and raw from inside and over cooked from outside. Looked like cooked in rush. They called the chicken spicy but there was no spice, wasnt even juicy. It was dry and rubbery.. Will not recommend to anyone. read more

Was brought here for the first time after a morning meeting, and was immediately hooked. Very consistently good pita roll-ups. Consistently good chicken. Consistent is the operative word here. The sauce variety and quality is up there as well, but you can always count on this place to be good. It's cheap too. read more

[3.5/5] I was at a conference for work at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in the Seaport and wanted to walk away from the event for a lunch without the crowds. I had heard great things about the Aceituna location in Kendall and thought that I would give this place a try. When you walk in, it looks like most fast casual restaurants with nothing special. We went around 11:30AM on a weekday and there was only a short line. The menu is quite overwhelming when you first walk in as there are so many options and it is hard to tell what comes with a meal versus what is a la carte. I went with a rice plate with Shawarma Spicy Chicken. The rice was delicious and a great base and the chicken was good, not great. It was not as spicy as I would have liked, but they had hot sauces and other spicy sauces that I added to my plate. For sides, I got hummus and the greek salad. The hummus was GREAT with pita. I wish I had even gotten more Pita. The greek salad was just OK and I would probably skip next time I went. My friend ordered the fried cauliflower and I almost went up to order a full side of it because it was so good, but the line got very long around noon when the lunch crowd came in. For sides, I would recommend the hummus and fried cauliflower next time. What truly set them apart for me was the fantastic sauces, which you could get on top of your meat, but they also had extras around the silverware and napkins after you pay. There was a spicy red sauce that was fantastic and then a garlic sauce that I could put on everything I eat! I give them 3.5 stars mostly because it was good for the price. The portion was large enough to fill me up for a big lunch and the bowl was only $10, which is a great price for lunch around this area. Compared to other fast casual options in the area, I would recommend this for a quick Mediterranean lunch. read more

Definitely the best Mediterranean I've ever had.. now I haven't tried that many places to be fair, but it's way above say, Pita Thyme or Piperi in my opinion... as a vegan working in the Seaport, I found a lot of options here. My favorite lunch to get here at the moment is a salad (either tabbouleh or fattoush), Falafel (delicious!), Baba Ganoush (Yummm), Pickled Turnips (Love).. the Moussaka is to die for. Also love that they have sauces to the side because I like to top it all with Tahini Sauce. The portions are HUGE also. My only criticism is on the efficiency of the line; there have been a couple times I decided to eat elsewhere cause the line was looping all around the restaurant.. but this may get better with time. read more

I've been generally happy with this place- however, today I had the greek salad for lunch and I must say it did not meet expectations. It consisted of almost only green bell peppers and Iceberg lettuce (they fill the bottom with lettuce), barely any feta or olives, a few tomatoes and that was it. Comes served with two side dishes, one of mine was the fried cauliflower which came served cold. The chicken was great, but the rest of the meal was far below expectations and I probably won't be coming back. read more

Aceituna is awesome! The staff is super nice and the Mediterranean food is an awesome idea. Definitely worth making a stop.

I just got lunch from the location at the Seaport. I asked for spicy chicken and was given regular chicken and then when I questioned it the guy slopped spicy sauce on top of the very small portion of chicken that I was given. His comment was "here I just added sauce" , this is not the response I expected, he was just rude and made me embarrassed for even making a comment. I dont mind if I had asked for more and been charged but I had tried to ask several times while I was on the line but no one responded to me. They need to increase there customer service and not speed through orders. Its great to be fast but when it is just slopped out then you have lost the goal. read more

First time here. The staff is super friendly. Portions are large, maybe a little too big. Might be best if shared with another person. Go for the rice bowl and lamb.
