I thought I would respond to the above comment from Dustin Dilsaver. Mr. Dilsaver neglects to explain the entire story. Mr. Dilsaver contacted our office on 03/04/2015 at 5:01pm and requested a tow for his 2001 GMC Yukon, which was located at the Wolf Creek Ski Area (Pagosa Springs, CO). This is approximately 50 miles from our location. Mr. Dilsaver was quoted between $260-$270.00. He agreed and asked us to go retrieve the vehicle. A truck was dispatched immediately. He later called back and said he had found a ride back to South Fork, CO. We asked if he notified the ski area to leave the gate open until we arrived, and he said "No". We made numerous attempts to get ahold of the ski area, since they normally secure the parking lot once it's closed. If locked, we would drive 100+ miles round trip and be unable to perform the tow unless they left the gate unlocked. After trying to contact the ski area with no luck, we called and advised Mr. Dilsaver that the odds of the gate being open by the time our driver got there were very slim. At 6:39pm, he said to go ahead and not do the tow today and asked if we could pick it up first thing in the morning. We agreed and advised our driver to return. We then sent a driver out at 5:30 am the next morning to pick up his vehicle. His vehicle was picked up and dropped off at the exact location requested by Mr. Dilsaver. The driver even assisted the repair facility by dropping the vehicle into his service bay. Mr. Dilsaver was charged only for the additional mileage the driver drove on 03/04/2015, as requested by Mr. Dilsaver. We only charged him enroute mileage and zero cancellation fee for 03/04/2015. This added $30 in addition to Mr. Dilsaver's bill, excluding tax.
Later on 3/5/2015, Mr. Dilsaver began making multiple harassing phone calls to our office saying we lied about the mileage that we drove and it was only 30 some miles total from our shop to the ski area and back, as per his MapQuest routing. I tried to give Mr. Dilsaver the addresses of our location to the ski area, which is exactly 49 miles, (he was charged 75 enroute as there was 27 miles the prior day and again, we charged him zero cancellation fee), plus his 20 miles under tow and a hook fee. Mr. Dilsaver then began using a great amount of profanity; I explained to Mr. Dilsaver the bill was slightly higher ($30.00) because he made the choice to cancel us the prior day. He demanded all of his money back. I stated I would not give him a full refund since we performed the tow and did not charge him for things we could have if we were as disreputable as he claims. I told him I could send him our published rates and show we charged exactly what our rates were, plus again, we didn't charge him any cancellation fee. Mr. Dilsaver again demanded a full refund and again, I refused. Mr. Dilsaver then stated that if I didn't give him a full refund, "I better make sure our trucks were secure, as they were going to get f--ked up." I told him to quit making threats and at this point our conversation was over. Mr. Dilsaver then again said its not a threat and if we didn't give him a full refund he would "f--k up our equipment". I asked Mr. Dilsaver to not contact us again and he stated "We would hear from him again." After the phone call, Monte Vista Police Department was contacted and an officer made a call to Mr. Dilsaver telling him to knock off the threatening phone calls. While Mr. Dilsaver would like to shed bad light on our company, he needs to be honest regarding what happened. Police don't just get called unless there is something behind it.
I encourage Mr. Dilsaver to find another tow company in the future to go with, as we would not perform another call for him. While Mr. Dilsaver may want to show us in a bad light, honesty and our reputation will far outshine his negative attack; just ask our many loyal customers. read more
