They worked to diagnose with us over the phone before ever coming out, attempting to save us money due to a predatory company trying to take advantage of us. When it was determined that a tow was necessary, they got us to a place of safety first, then came and picked up the truck, the trailer, 4 people and a dog and transported us all back to their shop in Alamosa. They had our truck ready by the end of the next day. Their prices were more than reasonable, but it was their customer service in dealing with us throughout this situation that is prompting us to give them a terrific review. We highly recommend this company!!!

I was driving back from Denver on Friday, the 13th of December, when I had car trouble. I was in…read moreFort Garland when a message kept popping up on my dash saying, "Battery Discharge Warning - Use system with engine running." I wanted to get home after a long day so I continued driving it thinking I was doing exactly as the message said. When I got to Alamosa, however, the steering wheel started to get stiff, and so did the brakes. As soon as I turned into La Due Ave to get home to Sanford, my dash began flickering fast, then died. I could not start my car! Thank goodness I was close to home, so my husband came and tried to jump my car to no avail. Flickering continued. We called around for car repair shops and everyone recommended Layton's. We are so happy they did. Not only did they tow my car for $100, but they also recommended Garcia's for car repair. Keeping our fingers crossed that Garcia's is as responsive and good as Layton's Thank you!!!

They were immediately helpful and promised to check out the car and call me before I needed to decide on another night's stay. True to their word, they diagnosed the issue and called me within an hour. I approved the work and they ordered a part from a nearby town. They said it could be end of the day before it was ready but that they'd get me on the road that day. I was prepared for a long sit in the motel office after I checked out of my room, but shortly after noon I got a call that the vehicle was ready. When I paid for the repairs and collected my keys, Don said that they do their best to take care of out-of-towners because they know it's a hardship to be stranded in a strange town. The repair was perfect, and the new battery they recommended should be good for several years to come. I was home in time for dinner. You cannot beat that kind of service and kindness. Highly recommended.

I went to this place twice, and both times I scheduled an appointment three weeks out. Each time, I…read morearrived on time first thing in the morning and dropped my car off, only to call at 4:30 p.m. (one hour before closing) and be told they had not even brought my car into the shop. I was then expected to leave my car overnight, which was a huge inconvenience, especially since all I needed was a simple oil change and front brake pads. Despite that experience, I decided to give Automotive Concepts Inc. another chance. Once again, I was told I needed to schedule an appointment. This time, I specifically asked to be scheduled on a day that was relatively empty and explained my frustration from the first visit, including having to leave my car overnight. I was assured that this would not be an issue and that they would be able to get to my car since that day was "wide open." I dropped my car off on the scheduled day first thing in the morning and did not hear back from the shop at all. I called again at 4:30 p.m., one hour before they closed, only to be told--once again--that they had not touched the car and it was still sitting where I left it. They started offering excuses, but at that point I was done hearing them. I told them not to touch the vehicle because I was not in a position to leave my car overnight again. When I arrived to pick it up, I was met with attitude. The owner slammed my keys on the counter and made a comment along the lines of "sorry, but I'm not perfect." That response was completely unprofessional. This is a business, with a receptionist and staff. At the very least, someone could have called to say they weren't going to get to the car that day so I could come pick it up, instead of tying up my entire day waiting without a vehicle. My time is money too, and it was completely wasted--twice. If you know you can't get to a customer's vehicle or don't have enough staff to keep up with the workload, don't take the car in. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

When Colorado Towing finally showed up, a guy gets out of the truck, doesn't say hello, and begins our conversation by saying, "You parked in a terrible spot." Those were the first words out of his mouth. He then tells me that I need to push my car to the other end of the lot and that he can't help because he has a bad back. I called some friends who happened to be in town. None of us live in Alamosa. What would've happened if I didn't have anyone to help me? I suggested he maneuver his truck in such a way to avoid us having to push the car into a different spot. He scoffed and told me it wasn't possible. Two minutes after I called my friends, he gets out of his truck and tells me, "they're not paying me to wait." AND THEN HE DRIVES OFF. I kid you not, he got back in his truck and drove away, effectively stranding me 4 hours from home. How cowardly and unethical can a business be? Colorado Towing in Alamosa sets the bar pretty high.
