Nick and the entire ACE team are absolutely amazing. We needed our front and backyard fully demoed and literal tons of gravel removed. They scheduled us, showed up on time, and even finished early! They were easy to communicate with, responded quickly to our initial inquiry and gave us a quote that was well within our budget and expectations (especially when compared to what other, less reputable companies quoted) What was really impressive is the care in which they demoed everything. They put in manual effort to ensure that their heavy machinery wouldn't be close to our home and avoided any potential damage. There is no reason for you to shop around or look elsewhere for services, Nick and team are the best option in San Diego! read more

I highly recommend Ace Hauling as I recently called them to remove an old very large jacuzzi from my well Manicured backyard. Ace Hauling scheduled me immediately and they showed up right on time. The three workers were fast and professional cleaning up as they hauled it away. They had all the right tools, a giant dump truck and a great attitude. Thanks again, Tom Willams Vista, CA. read more

Left multiple messages, emails and not a single response. Too hard to do business with. Sorry - but you earned this.

I explained exactly what I needed hauled away when I spoke with the representative on the phone and she gave me a price of $140. When the men arrived to haul my junk away they charged me $250. I felt they could do better with their phone estimates or at least tell me it could be more. read more

I needed dirt picked up and they came to the rescue! Time slot was between 10-11 and they were here right at 10. They wore masks and stayed back when I was talking to them. They worked extremely fast and efficient! read more

Got quote on Friday and had a gang of purple trucks at.my house by Tuesday. I thought I was going to remove about 750 yards of concrete with a rental breaker from home Depot and 3 days later I barely had half of it broken up. So then I call up these guy and they show up with two 40 yard roll off lowboys and two other equipment trucks and their purple mini bobcat with 5 guys and 4 hours later, nothing was left but dust and dirt leaving me very pleased. I highly recommend, they know what there doing and there good at it, there was no problems. they even asked if that was all and if there was anymore that I wanted them to take. read more

I recently purchased a home, and during the home inspection I had done prior to buying the property -- it was pointed out to me that the old gazebo structure in the backyard was structurally unsound. So, I decided that it had to go. Fast forward, I got the home & wanted that thing gone. After doing a bit of research online, I came across Ace and contacted them with a description of what I needed to be removed. I was given a quickly turned around estimate and had things scheduled just as fast. Once the two-man crew came in to do the removal, they were literally in and out in all of 40 minutes. They started at the roof of the structure (brave to get on top of it -- you could've probably literally pushed it over with very little effort) and worked their way down quickly -- cutting up the pieces with a chainsaw. And then they leveled things off at the surface so that a new one could be installed when I was ready. Pretty great work considering the time, and the price was agreeable! If I ever need something removed again, I plan to call Ace -- they're my junk removal and demolition service now. They've earned a loyal customer and I'd recommend them to anyone needing good work done on the removal with a reputation they can trust. read more

We had a really great experience with Ace. Nick and Amanda were easy to work with and the crew did an incredible job on our project. They were just really reasonable, efficient and competent. We had a variety of challenges (or so I thought) and they just took care of everything. I would definitely use them every time. Thanks guys! read more

I was in need of some clean dirt to fill in my pool. There was a guy name Jose came to my house with a long big truck to dump the clean dirt. At the first dump, I got a excavator so I was able to push the dirt over to the pool size. He never told me about the second load. He called my around 2pm same day and asked if he can dump another load. I told him No because I dont have anything to push the dirt. He called his boss and we agreed that he would dump that second load on my yard and COME BACK with the bobcat to push the dirt into the pool. i called him at 3:45pm, he picked it up and started speaking Spanish. (He was speaking English with me the whole time he was dumping 2 loads of the dirt-40 cubic yard ) I called him again at 4, but he hung up on me. read more

Nick and his team removed a spa and ~500ft of concrete patio from out backyard. I appreciated that they were quick to respond to my request and responsive throughout the whole process. The yard was difficult to access (down narrow stairs, no alley access). Nick found a solution to help his team work efficiently, and was respectful of social distancing guidelines and mask usage (this work was done 5/28/2020). My two year old daughter also got a kick out of watching the excavator. read more

Brought in 4 companies for estimate to dig out entire backyard including two hills in our yard, some cement patio/walls, and lots of vegetation and couldn't have been happier with Ace. Price was reasonable but what was most impressive was their attention to detail and professionalism. Worked an entire 12 hour day to get job done, cleaned up everything including powerwashing before they left - could not have been happier. read more

Nick and his team went above and beyond with this project. We hired them to clear 6+ ft weeds, stumps and trash left in our yard by previous owners. I have been impressed by Ace Hauling. Their prices are the most reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. The guys who came to take the stuff away were clean-cut and polite. I didn't feel odd having them walk repeatedly across my home. Finally got rid of the junk my family had accumulated over the past 4 years. Convenient and still there's comfort in knowing that they do the right thing. It's hard work, give 'em a tip. read more

Ace did an amazing job on my backyard demo, I saw them doing my neighbors demo and hit them up for an estimate. I spoke to three other folks including the pool company installing my pool. All said if you can schedule them do it. Called Nick the owner he said two weeks and I said done come out. He came and HAULED out about 90 tons of material! Brought four tractors and three dump trucks. Look this is hard work if you need someone with efficient tools and trucks he's your man and by the way your supporting local family ran business. Thank you Nick and his large team of helpers. read more

I had a bunch of old wood and debri from a backyard deck removal that I needed to get rid of, and Ace was great for me. Pricing was sent out ahead of time based on how much of Ace's truck would likely be filled (and was the lowest of 4 quotes I got- not by a ton but very comparable to other companies I found), the workers showed up on time and worked quickly and respectfully around our property. They cleaned up a bunch of leaves and branches and left things a lot cleaner than they found them. They charged very fairly based on how much of the truck was filled in the end (which was hard for me to eyeball ahead of time and where they could probably charge a few extra bucks if they really wanted to). My job was not complicated but Ace did a very good job. I would use them again for a haul away without question. read more

They came out last Tuesday to remove a bed, a desk, and a cabinet. I described the items over the phone to the dispatcher named Sue who quoted me a price of $130 that morning. I had gotten a lower estimate over the phone from another company but I just got a weird vibe from him so I went with Sue/Ace. She said they'd be here between 5 and 6pm and that they'd call when they were en route. They didn't call but I was home and expecting them so no biggie. They were 3 men and a big flatbed truck. The guy in charge looks at the pile of junk and says it'll be $30 more because this wouldn't fit in pickup truck. I told him that's not what I was quoted and he has a huge flatbed anyway. I told him, "Forget it. I'll call someone else." Then he said to hold on while he checked to see if it was okay. He made a call and then said she said it was okay. So they started moving the stuff which took all of 2 minutes if that. I was going to pay them with my credit but I thought, "Hell, no. These guys are shady." So I thought about paying them cash but then I thought, "Hell, no. These guys are shady." So I paid them with a check. I don't feel good about badmouthing this company but everything I'm saying is true. Sue, you can call me if you want to. You've got my number. read more

We are changing our landscaping, removing the lawn (at least what used to be lawn) and are replacing with rock. We contacted Ace to bid on removing the top layer of dirt. We have a very small front yard. Ace was quick to bid, was reasonably priced and most important was prompt to show up for the job and complete it. They used a small tractor but since the lot is small, there was a lot of manual removal as well. The guys were professional and thorough. The tractor operator was well skilled, maneuvering in our small yard. They cleaned up the area including sweeping dirt off the sidewalk and street. Couldn't have asked for more read more

The current 2 star rating seems appropriate and fair because they don't make it past the bid stage. I can't attest to the quality of their hauling services because I can certainly testify to their incompetence at quoting for a job. Therefore, I can understand all the other customers who got a quote and ended up having to pay more without a heads up. The Job was to haul out a pile of broken cinder blocks and cement debris, and a small stack of wood. They did not come to take a look at the job to quote, instead they asked for photos by email. Fair enough, except that then they miss-assessed the job and quoted 4 times higher than any other hauling service company that made a bid for the same job. All bids came between $500-650. Ace hauling came at $2000. You be the judge. I know for a fact (for having it done before myself -now I'm too tired) that: Dumping fees (demolition debris) would have been $160 for 2 tons. The use of a flatbed truck would be $200. Labor for 2 men who ended up doing the job in 3 hours: that's 6 man hours. It would break down Ace Hauling labor to $275/hour!! An MD. doesn't earn that much. Even if I'd be missing on some fees here, in no way can this abusive quote ever be acceptable. They ignored my followup email asking them if they would revise their quote since the photos might have led them to think it's a bigger job than what it really was. Being ignored doesn't scream for a good service... And so, this is why I'm writing up this review and they are getting yet another bad rating. Their website promise to beat your best bid is false. read more

I'd like to rate their actual business, but unfortunately, I didn't get past their crappy customer service. I asked for a quote via e-mail, stating that I lived in BayHo, and they bluntly replied, "We only service San Diego." That's it. No sorry, no recommendations for where to look instead, nothing. Aside from the fact that you can Google "Where is BayHo?" and see clearly that it is a neighborhood in San Diego, that kind of etiquette is a gigantic turnoff. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

Everything went smooth from the first call to the end of the job. It was not an easy one as there were small areas, sprinkler system. The team called before coming, were on time and did a perfect job. They asked questions during the job to make sure they removed the right amount of dirt and responded very positively to any suggestions. read more

I've used Ace twice (so far) and have been very pleased. Once for a quick dirt removal and a second time for 30 yards of concrete broken up and hauled away. I didn't price shop much but it was very reasonable for the work I asked them to do. Everyone with ACE that has come to the house has been very nice and really interested in my satisfaction, not just getting done and getting out. I will be using them again when my current trash/dirt pile gets too big to deal with. read more

Ace responded quickly to an email for more information. I provided photos of a spa I needed removed from the property. Ace quoted a good price. I compared to a few other companies. When I booked the service over the phone, they were able to come out sooner than I was ready! That was a nice change. We agreed on a date. They were prompt, and called 15 minutes before they arrived. They quickly removed the spa, loaded the truck, and were done is less than an hour. They even swept and cleaned up the area around the spa! Very courteous, professional, no weird vibes. I will use them again when I start to clean out the garage. read more
