Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I took a snowblower in for repair on January 28th. I was told that it would take 3-4 weeks. It's now been over 11 weeks and I'm still waiting. They never bothered to inform me that they might be running behind. I could understand that. The only way I could secure the repair status was to physically go to the repair desk. Their first excuse was my snowblower work order was put behind generators that came in after my snowblower. The response I got was "well, it didn't snow"....Well I don't think we lost power. When I visited the store recently to check the status I was told that NOW, my snowblower repair is behind lawn mowers that came in weeks after my snowblower. Unbelievable. I guess if I wait long enough, my work order will be superseded by leaf blowers. Unacceptable customer service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. read more

They sold my elderly father a brand new lawnmower and when it had electrical problems within 90 days of purchase they were practically impossible to work with. They even presented me with a bill despite it being under warrant. read more

ACE hardware on John Tyler Highway is the most pleasant place to shop. As soon as you walk in you are greeted at least 2 times by someone who is eagerly willing to help you and answer any question you may have. When you are ready to check out there is a cashier named Ms Pat who may just actually be the happiest person on the planet. She is the epitome of kindness and graciousness. You would swear that have actually known her all your life. I HATE to physically shop, but I can go to this ACE everyday if I have to. Staff was racist except for the wonderful African American lady at the check out whom I approached for help. I was looking for something there today. None of the 3 white guys that was working inside the store bothered to ask me if I needed help. But when a white gentleman walked in the door, those same 3 guys offered their help right away. I'm a tourist from New York area I have an Asian Irish European background. This is not tolerable where I live and they would've probably be reprimanded or fired right away. read more

DO NOT USE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Brought a couple of tools in for tune up and sharpening - they came back filthy and I was told that the service guys don't really like to clean while they have everything apart. For over $100 apiece, I'd be embarrassed to give something back to a customer looking like that. Service Manager David really didn't care when I showed him / said his service guys were "funny about it"... Honestly, I can't tell any work was done and feel totally taken advantage of. I was driving through town and needed to secure my front license plate to my car. It had recently fallen off and my older model car wasn't really equipped to display a front tag. I stopped by this Ace Hardware to see what my options might be. One of the workers (I regret I don't remember his name) was very helpful and identified several possibilities. He even offered to help put the tag on the car, requiring several trips from the parking lot to the store to get the right drill bit and other materials.
