I have lived in several different locations across the country, and was very excited to see that Ace Hardware was here in Ammon, Idaho. However, after shopping there and trying to get some help on sprinkler parts - I quickly learned that the staff is extremely rude. Despite it being a small store, they do their best to avoid helping customers. It took me ten minutes to flag someone down to help me. When asking questions - i was talked down to. Being this was my first sprinkler repair - I had some pretty simple questions regarding size and the employee gave me answers with an eye roll. The prices at this store are consistently normally higher than local big box/Home Depot/Lowes stores. I've shopped at other ace stores across the nation and haven't experienced this - normally they are pretty decent. Sadly, this is the only Ace Hardware store where I have experienced poor customer service, lack of care, and extremely high prices. I normally like to help out a local hardware store, however I will not be going back. I would rather patronize Amazon, or even the local Big box stores after this experience. There's a reason why Sears, Kmart, and other stores have gone out of business. Sadly - i feel that this ACE store will be no different. They're following the same trend as the others. I have had decent shopping experiences here but in light of the increasing Covid-19 infections in the area, limited ICU units due to a small rural community, and my age, for the time being, I will not be returning as one employee was not wearing a mask. I prefer supporting smaller businesses but it seems smaller businesses don't practice uniform enforcement of Covid-19 mitigation protocols. Sorry. read more

This is a very well Run store with employees always willing to go the extra mile to help you find something or to explain what you need for a project. Prices may be higher than Home Depot, but the ease and convenience makes it worth it. read more

If you get an employee that knows what they are talking about then it's usually a good experience, but thats pretty much it. Their prices are are usually 10-20% higher then anywhere else. I'd say call the store confirm they even carry an item before wasting time going in. I've had some seriously lacking employees try to help me and it's painful. read more

The man running the power tools was helpful and knowledgeable. The workers behind the register were horrible. They did not even greet when we walked in. Very rude when checking out and unhelpful. Will not return to this location again. read more

Definitely doesn't deserve the 1 stars especially with the COVID whiner. Yes, generally the prices are slightly higher on general items (10-15%) because the big stores entire aim is to kill off the competition. But on the other hand I've gotten quite a few great deals here that were much better than stores like Home Depot or Lowe's even with the military discount there. Ace is usually my go to because it's close and they almost always have what I need no matter how obscure the item is. I went into the local AMMON ACE HARDWARE STORE IN Ammon. I went in to have screens made 7 days ago. I went in 3 times to get my screens made. 4 Screens same size. I left my information and the measurements to what I needed at the store at the beginning of the process to have them for my property. I went in 2 times after that to pick them up and every time they told me that they were not ready. I went in the 3rd time and they looked at me and told me that they were not ready. They said they tried to call me on the measurements, I showed them the call log on my phone and no Ace Hardware had called me about the measurements that I needed. Everything they had was on the work order. But anyways they looked at my phone and verified that they never called me. But then they refused to make them for me. After I got pissed that they lied to me on calling me on the measurements. I can't believe that I was treated so poorly. At that point I asked for the information to the regional office. I got belligerent at that point when I realized that they lied to me the customer. I called the division office and I still can't believe that I was treated so poorly as their customer that pays their wages. I will never recommend the ACE HARDWARE stores at 3415 E 17th St. In Ammon, ID 83406 I hope they fire the two employees that did a horrible job in making the customer happy.
