I bought an antique desk for my craft hobby. I wanted to get a glass top made for it to protect the surface and for easy cleanups. I can't say enough great things about this place. Always friendly and accommodating. I've ordered a few pieces of glass, had windows repaired etc. But today I took a big plate glass mirror in to be cut for a hallway credenza. I almost didn't bother because I figured it would cost a fortune. Not only was it very inexpensive, they had it ready in about 30 minutes! They gave me the hardware to mount it.... I had a window in my house broken, and needed a replacement. I looked around and found Ace Glass, highly recommended on Nextdoor. Called them up, and a gentleman named Dana took my call, asked some questions about the type of window and frame, approximate size, and type of glass, and immediately quoted me a very reasonable price. Later that day, a technician came out to measure the window and explained that it would be a few days as it has to be made (dual pane glass with gas insulation in between). He was very professional and nice. The following week, Dana called me to schedule the appointment. I couldn't make the day he suggested, so I asked for the following day, and he said that would work. Fast forward - two technicians (the one that intially came out was one of them), both friendly and professional, showed up during the time window I was told, removed the old window, installed the new one, cleaned up after themselves, and thanked me, and that was that! I then went to pay in person, and was greeted by Dana, who took my payment, and was very nice. I asked about some other work I was thinking about getting done, and he took his time explaining me. Not the place to go if you are looking for glass. They will double charge you even if you have done business with them for several times. The guy will lie to your face and tell you that's the price they have always charged. Used this place as it was only 5 mins from home! I took two screens in to have them re screened because of tears. They did a good job and they fit well. I then had them come out to measure a front window as the screen was missing. The also replaced rollers on the sliding window and now it's great we have cross ventilation in the living room. We have used Ace Glass for a few years and not sure what happened but had a service call last week for our sliding glass door and the guy they sent out was rude from the beginning and left without acknowledging what the issues were. My husband and I both separately called, spoke with Dana who suggested sending someone else out for an evaluation; sent the same guy back who was more rude (if possible) and I told him to just go. After calling numbers of shop, im glad i spoke to Steve. He was very helpful on the phone. Spoke to him on Friday, called back on Monday for an appointment. Appointment was set for 10 to 12 tuesday. Steve showed on 10:05 am. I got a courtesy call that he was on the way. He fixed my cracked glass on my kitchen garden and he did a Phenomenal job and did it fast. Wow - Don't ever go to this guy. He committed to cutting a mirror for me and days after the deadline he gives me the excuse that his employees are not showing up. So we came up with another target date and I called him the morning after and he told me "it's not done and if I want, I can just come and pick it up.", BAM - He slams the phone down in my ear. What in the world could I have done other than to expect him to keep his word and handle his business to deserve that. I was referred to him by my painter. So for him to treat a "referred customer" like that shows that for whatever reason he does not have the capacity to provide a quality service. I can see why his employees don't want to come to work. Ordered windows but never received anything and they kept leading me on saying they were ordered . Then when install day came , they mentioned they never ordered anything. 2200 total 1200 deposit and told me I couldn't get my money back at the time until this final issue. I have been very impressed with the employees at Ace Glass. Their dedication to doing a job well, big or small, puts their shop above the rest. I ordered glass shelves for my medicine cabinets, and they came out beautifully. Their attention to detail and friendly down home customer service made it an enjoyable experience. I had a broken window at my rental property, which I have a legal obligation to fix within seven days. I explained this to Ace when I called, and they still couldn't get out to the property for five days. Since there was a three-day weekend involved, I accepted the appointment but stressed again that I had to take care of the problem within seven days. When the technician arrived five days later, he took measurements but said he couldn't give me an estimate for either the cost or the date for the repair until he went back to the shop. He did not call back by the end of the day so I called the next morning and spoke to Damon, the manager, who promptly gave me an estimate but said they could not get out to make the repair for another week. I told him I was really in a bind now because I had waited for them for six days. He then said, "Well, when would you like to have it done?" and I told him, "I have to have it fixed for the tenant within seven days, so I need it done today." He replied, "Well, it ain't gonna get done today" and offered me nothing more. So I asked if he could refer me to another shop that might be able to do the repair sooner, and he replied, "I don't know anyone else" and hung up on me! I am shocked and extremely disappointed by this unprofessional behavior because I did not take an accusatory tone with him--in fact, I was congenial and polite at all times--and he never apologized or proposed any kind of accommodation or suggestion to remedy the situation he had put me in. I was very clear from the outset about the deadline that I was working under, and if they were unable to complete the repairs within that time frame, or even doubted it, they should have told me so I could contact another shop. They set me back an entire week, embarrassed me with my tenant, and have now sent me scrambling to fulfill my responsibilities as a landlord at the last minute. And hanging up on a customer who is being polite is just unacceptable. Ace has done good work for me in the past and their prices are reasonable; but their manager is neither gracious nor helpful, their communication is poor (and perhaps their time management as well), and their customer service is next to nil. Definitely do not use them if you're working under any sort of a deadline. read more

The company forgot our appointment. After calling an hour after appointment time the technician charged $50 more than what was agreed upon over the phone. Technician said he'd be back in an hour (after being 3 hours late to the appointment) because it was lunch time. 2 1/2 hours later he came back. They did a terrible job installing our screens and when I took the messed up ones back and they claimed they would give me new ones but two days later they gave me the exact ones back trying to persuade me that they fixed them. Needed my sliding screen door rescreened and this side gets the full sun in the afternoon, they recommend the sunscreen one which is a little darker but what a difference it makes. We came in today to purchase a window screen. When we first entered the premises no one was in the office...a gentleman who had just driven up at the same time as us soon approached the office from the sliding glass door....no hello or any other type of greeting...(I honestly believe he is not the person who normally mans the desk) He reaches the desk and then says how can I help you? I told him I needed a window screen he asked for measurements and we provided them. My companion took over the conversation at that point. They continued to speak in Spanish and the gentleman offered us options for the screen and asked about our window type. He calculated the price to be a little over $28 for the screen and the frame and asked if we'd like to wait while it's completed approximately a 10 minute wait...I'm completing this review as I wait...The inside office is decent but dusty...my screen is ready already... My companion would liked to mention they were helpful and understanding because his measurements may have been a little off. read more

Went to have a price quote for a shower install. Looked at several options and decided on a frameless shower. Was told by the installers that frameless is a little hard to install due to exact measurements needed. After they were done, I was very pleased with the work, even though my outer wall is a little bowed due to the age of the house, expansion/contraction and earthquakes, the guy did an awesome job. Dale helped with a price quote and Dana had the installers come to my house and get exact measurements. I ordered the glass that day and before the week was over, the shower glass had been made and then made an appointment for the guys to come out and install the shower glass. After installation and everything, with the slight problems with the house, the guys made the shower look great! The frameless shower looks way better than what I had before. This completed the whole house remodel project. Dale and Dana have very good guys working for them. I even had a window screen needing replacement. Took my old screen in and they put a new screen on and fit perfect in my window. I would recommend highly. read more
