We were looking for a car for our 16 year-old daughter and ended up going to Ace Auto Dealership in Martinez and got her a used 2003 Honda Civic with 77,000 miles. We needed a couple of things serviced and the dealership referred us to Ace Auto Care. Come to find out, both are run by the same family. Just like the spectacular service we received at the dealership, we received the same respectful, friendly, and caring service here at Ace Auto Care by Safi. He was amazing, honest, knowledgeable and the list goes on. He replaced the oxygen sensor in the car and then went above and beyond. He changed the motor in the passenger side window, changed the battery, and he even changed the wiper blades because winter is coming. He gave us tips on getting a portable battery charger since the car is for our teen daughter so that she's not stranded waiting for a towing service or having to ask someone to jumpstart her car. When we picked up the car, we brought our other car for an oil change, tire rotation and wheel balancing. They did all of that in 40 minutes and their prices cannot be beat! I recently moved to the area and had yet to find a good place to service my car. Of course, that's when a panel on the underside of my car would come lose. I hoped it would be a simple fix, so looked on Yelp to find someone to look at it. Based on the positive reviews, I gave Ace Auto Care a chance. I figured it would be a simple fix and a good way to test out a new mechanic. I am so glad I did! They were able to get me in quickly, determined a screw had fallen out, screwed the panel on, and had my car ready to go in maybe 10 minutes. On top of that, Azizi refused all payment. I know it was quick and didn't take special parts, but I was still very impressed. As a woman that knows very little about cars, I'm always worried of being taken advantage of when getting my car serviced. These guys are literally the best! This is my new place from now on and I wont be taking my cars to the dealer anymore! Most importantly they are so friendly and honest, and work to give you the best deals, with discounts for students. I took my first car there for service and they were finished at no time. For my second car I was given a quote of over $3000 by the dealer and Ace Auto informed me my car was completely fine without that service. I was also told that I need to replace my break pads immediately, while Mr. Azizi at ace auto actually showed me how the brakes work and told me I had over 3-4 months of brake life left. I cannot recommend this place enough and my whole family can trust them with our cars!! They even have a personalized website now where you can see the history of the services done to your car with detailed descriptions, which I think is more than awesome since I always lose my paper invoices. read more

I went to Ace after looking for a tire place with 5 star Yelp reviews. I hit something hard on Route 24 and the left front tire lost pressure. Yesterday morning my car engine overheated in the middle of Hwy 24, so I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and called AAA. As I waited for AAA to arrive, all I could think about were my Thanksgiving plans that I would most likely have to cancel if I didn't have my car. AAA arrived after about 25 minutes, towed my car off the freeway and checked my car. There wasn't any coolant, so I had them tow my car to Ace Auto Care (AAC) in Lafayette. Until yesterday, the only work I've had done at AAC is an oil change. To make a long story just a tad longer, they fixed the coolant problem and checked to make sure no other damage was caused and before I knew it, I had my car back. This is a small father and son business and they were so nice and so quick and - get this - didn't charge me even a penny! I was so happy, I gave them each a big hug and plan on bringing them a nice sumpin sumpin the next time I see them. For those of you in the area - if you have any car issues, this is the place to go - Ace Auto Care in Lafayette. Only 2 hours passed from the time I pulled over to the freeway shoulder to the time I drove off from AAC. For me, Thanksgiving started yesterday! read more

Best auto shop in the Contra Costa County to my knowledge. I came in when it was 100 degrees the other day to have my AC recharged and was originally quoted at $125. Saji, one of the mechanics was very kind and helped me out immediately. 20 minutes later I was out the door, and he even knocked the price down to just under $90. They also apparently service all makes and models, and do custom work as well. Bottom Line: Fast and Friendly service and Affordable prices. read more

LIFESAVERS!! I cannot thank this shop enough for taking me in so last minute to fix my engine splash shield after it fell apart on the freeway. These guys are total shysters. I purchased their Groupon for one oil change, since they are very local to us, and we have 4 cars, to try them out. First I stopped in with my little 4 cyl. Saturn Vue for an oil change. They refused to honor the Groupon on the Saturn (not because it didn't fit their lift or it takes too much oil) but because the car takes a cheap paper oil filter (not a metal one). They wanted to upcharge me 50% for the paper oil filter -- 50% of the cost of the entire oil change! Otherwise they refused to honor the deal. (I buy the filter on Amazon myself for $5. Retail.) Then I called about my Chrysler Pacifica, and they said they were too busy to do an oil change and could only offer an appointment 9 days away. Nine days away for a 15 minutes oil change! They wanted an upcharge on that car too, claiming it was "an SUV". Then, with only three days remaining on my Groupon, before it would expire, I came by with my Chevy Suburban. One of the helpers Yazizi said they were too busy for an oil change (natch), but if I came back in two days, he might do it, but was not sure the Groupon would work for that car either, since it was an 8 cylinder engine, and the Groupon reads: "Good for 6 cylinder or 6 cylinder engines". Like that makes sense... Then the manager came in and said, "sorry we are too booked up to do a Groupon oil change until next week. That was 5 days after their Groupon expired. Of course. I looked around before I gave up on them. The shop is in complete disarray. They are total slobs, with parts and vehicles crowded in (in various stages of disassembly) everywhere. And only maybe 2 working lifts? I never pick shops that are run like my kid's messy room after a sleep over party. You shouldn't either. These guys maybe should stick to convenience store operation... I went home got a refund from Groupon online -- 100% in only minutes -- I guess they have a file already on these guys. I've used Groupon (dozens of them) for many years. Never had a problem like this. I recommend Jiffy Lube across the street. In and out in 15 minutes. $25 including taxes and fees, for full lube, with all fluids, windshield clean, mats vacuumed, tires checked and pressure to 35lbs. Done and done. No B.S. read more

The minute my family got into their office, we were greeted with excellent attitude. They seem to have this business as family business, and as such, they truly understand the value of family and honesty and fairness.
