Went to have a motor home smog check. didn't pass.. Was told the OBD needed to reset due to it sitting and was advised to drive it a hundred miles... Did so and returned, still didn't pass, told to drive more! Really? Drove another 150 miles and returned... (mind you taking a trip in a motor home is not a daily easy feat... Again, failed.. Frustrated with this place, went to a smog shop in Morgan Hill and he fixed in 20mins!! He cleaned a contact to the air flow sensor... Wow, it passed... he said anyone that knows smogs would have known to check this, this guy was very professional and competent. Guess if you have a shop and you just pass or fail and don't have any mechanical insight... ya, you get what ya pay for... oh yeah, Accurate Smog Check prices are off the charts...we didn't realize this till we checked around.. 2 stars for connivence, ya want to patronize your neighborhood,been going here for years with all our cars... read more

Ive been going to this shop for the past 3 years, taking both of my cars here for smog because it was very convenient for me but will not be going back. After dropping off my 20 year old 200,000 mile mustang for a smog check, I was confronted by the technician saying he can't smog the car since it didnt have the stock 5 speed transmission and then went on to accuse me of trying to cheat smog due to a missing bolt on the intake air filter boot. Accurate Smog has lost a loyal customer, will be taking my business elsewhere. Not everyone out there is trying to cheat the system but unfortunately doesn't realize that. read more

If you have to get a smog check, I reccommend this place. The staff is nice and the place is comfortable. They gave me $10 off by mentioning Yelp and had my car smogged in about 15 minutes with no problems. Only got 2 stars cause the actual testing was relatively painless. The aftermath of the experience however is why I am writing this review. I was told I had no further obligations to the DMV in terms of paperwork, and that they would send the results of my test to the DMV electronically, and my tags would come in the mail. I asked twice "really?" TWICE. I had already gotten a ticket for lack of tags (they were stolen) so I patiently awaited the arrival of my tags, without a sense of urgency. months go by and I decide to go into the DMV to ask what the hell happened. They tell me I need a HARD COPY of the smog report. So after being lied to I return to Accurate Smog Check and tell them the DMV needs a hard copy. They tell me it's been over 90 days and they "have" to charge me for another test. Well, their lie, and $65 worth of stubbornness lost them future business from me. They are not as customer oriented as they seem. customer service is tested by bad experiences, not good ones. read more

This "place" was ok a little pricey but not too high. That's why I gave them a shot. And you guys know how many cars I go through! Anyway, they have an anal retentive tech there (hector) that told me on my 1st smog check, " your car passed all the smog stuff, but I had to fail it on the visual part" I saw a little smoke coming from this spot. So the machine said I passed and smarty pants failed me anyway! So it cost me 500 to get that part fixed! Needless to say I will not be going to the shop again! I had called the day before to inquire on the cost, duration of service, whether I needed an appointment, etc and the guy on the phone was super helpful with great customer service. I went the next morning because I was told that was usually a slow time. There was one car that they were wrapping up in front of me. I waited in their waiting lobby which was very clean and nice for about 5 mins. The guy who started my paperwork and did my service was nice and efficient. Although my car failed smog check because of my own fault which they were very educational in helping me understand what needed to happened before they can retest (for free within 30 days), it was an overall good experience! I definitely recommend this place and hopefully my experience when I go back for retest is just as good! read more

I went to the smog center based on other review - they werent joking - its not only clean - its comfortable ! I had no wait time, it was easy, smart place and very reasonable. And being smog test only I wasnt afraid of some greasy mechanic claiming I needed a ton of work to pass the test. Also they have a childrens area with books and toys so you can actually wait in comfort. Owner was there while I was waiting and was very friendly. They have small kids themselves and you can see that they translate that into a place they wouldnt mind waiting with a small one. The floor was cleaner than most fast food places. I'll be back next year and would recommend this place to anyone! Its off the beaten track but well worth. read more

I've been going to Accurate Smog Check for 8 years now and I LOVE them! They always take the time to talk over the results (because it border-line passes every time). In, out, smooth. Yeah this place is good. The lobby is nice, the guys are nice, the place is nice. Brought my SUV in for a smog, used the coupon they have for $15 off, Total bill $50. Bing, bang, boom! My car is good for another two years. Didn't have to wait as there was no one there at 4:30pm on a Monday. Came here because of the YELP ratings and was not disappointed. Great guys, fun to talk to, nice waiting area, plenty of materials to read while you wait, efficient and quick. Feel a lil guilty about not giving 5 stars, but I rarely do that and while these guys were great, I dunno that they knocked my socks off. Guess you could say I'm wavering around a 4.5 or so. I really do try to save the 5s for places that make me want to jump up and down in excitement, even if that wouldn't be any prettier than when Tom Cruise did it, but I digress. Do I recommend you search these guys out for your smog check? Absolutely. I've been to other places that were kinda shady, these guys were clean and professional. And, after writing that I suppose I need to weigh their performance against the other shops I've been to for smog and, in that light, they are far better, so I'll bump them up to the 5 that shows you really SHOULD go see them. read more
