Short of the overpriced gas, this review is mostly for Ducky's Car Wash. I canceled my membership mostly due to inconvenient entry, the so-so wash, and the very weak drying feature. The entry requires a person to guide you into the wash tunnel and start it (instead of automated) , and quite frankly, the people there are doing a crappy job sprinkling some water on a tenth of your car before you enter. Just save it! I'm not sure if there is even a difference between the washes, but what's beyond obvious is the lame drying cycle. The car is still wet when you exit and gets spotted when it dries. I'd rather wash my car once a month at a good car wash, than bothering with Ducky's longer. read more

This is an awesome Chevron that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The team member working at the register recently told me that they sometimes (for safety reasons) have to close briefly (for approximately 15 to 30 minutes I believe) and so if you ever get here (in a pinch for gas of course) and they are closed, just wait a little bit and they will open back up again. What I love about this Chevron is that they have great gas and reasonable prices! You can use Amazon gift cards here same day too! You just purchase the gift card, send it to yourself, and download the Chevron app and use the app to pay at the pump. The Chevron App connects to ApplePay too, which allows you to pay at the pump with ApplePay. It's nice that they have a car wash and vacuums for your car here too. It's also very easy to get in and out of this gas station. It's a good gas station to mark for future reference (if you live in the area for example), just in case you ever find yourself in need of gas late at night (or anytime for that matter!). This Chevron is actually one of the few gas stations that I'll frequent these days. This part of the Bay Area isn't known for being very "night owl" friendly, so I personally appreciate the few places that are open late at night. Another thing that I appreciate about this Chevron is that it's right next to Safeway and this Safeway location is open until 2am (if I remember correctly). There is also a great Starbucks just across the street on the same side of the road. This allows you to kill a few birds with one stone! read more

This review is for the car wash, only - which for years had been a great place for a decent, cheap, quick car wash. The car wash just re-opened after a renovation. The new wash tunnel has NO BRUSH that runs the length of the car top including roof, hood and trunk. So only the sides get washed - and not very well. Before I washed the car, I signed up for the .99/1-month promo through Ducky's Express. But when I went to cancel online, the app didn't recognize me. I went to the car wash to cancel and the manager seemed confused. Terrible laser car wash. The spray jets are super weak and have no pressure. It's also like they are skimping with the soap. This location could be better if they managed it well enough and probably would attract more customers since there are not a lot of "laser washes" around the area. NOTE This review is for the car wash. This is my first time at this Chevron. This location has gas, food mart, and a automatic touchless car wash. I had purchased my $8 Delux Car Wash inside and the attendance was very friendly. They also do the stamp/reward card for the Chevron car wash, on the 6th one you get a free "The Works" car wash. There aren't that many automatic touchless car washes in San Jose so I appreciate the ones that have them to clean my car fast. After my car wash I drove off and noticed that my car has a lot of water spots. Whenever I get a Delux car wash at other location, there aren't any watcher spot. I am very disappointed about this. Additionally there was a long line for the car wash when I went. On another note, this location also has their paper towels, soapy water and squeegee stocked. Two stars for the friendly service but overall was not satisfied with the touchless car wash. read more

My automobiles seem to be magnets for bird droppings. I mean, I'll be parked next to any other car and for some reason, only mine would be bombarded with poop, I kid you not. Two weekends ago, after chalking a few hundred miles trekking from Mojave to Malibu, Rover badly needed a wash to remove the desert sand, sea salt, the assortment of droppings and road kill. Unfortunately, it was damaged 'coz someone had driven into the wash mechanism. The attendant directed me to this location instead. At $6 for foam / rinse, $8 deluxe foam / rinse / blow and $10 for the works including RainX protectant, it sounded similar, but to my dismay, it wasn't. It's a totally different system. Here, you need to pay first inside the Extra Mile shop then proceed to the car wash and find a bunch of rules e.g. no trucks, no SUVs, no motorcycles, no bicycles, no loose non-standard accessories protruding from your vehicle etc posted outside the wash. The rotating pulsating jets look more promising in a jacuzzi than removing dust, let alone the stubborn heavy duty road tar. The blow dry was a joke. It made alot of noise, but lacked the force to dry effectively. My rims and tires looked the same as before the wash. The wheelwells were just as dirty. Overall, only a third got washed as the roof was still marked with droppings. To sum it up: a) If you're looking for a cursory wash, go here. b) If you're going on a date or use your ride for business, avoid. read more

This review is primarily for the car wash attached to this Chevron. And sadly; it could be a lot better. If your car is mostly clean and you want a touch-less wash to rinse off a surface layer of dust then this will do a decent job. If however you've gotten back from Tahoe or just have neglected the outside of your car for a few months: forget about it. It does a pretty poor job for any real cleaning. Not only does this car wash not work well but there are pigeons living inside the exit of the wash just waiting to cancel out any clean spots the car wash actually made! Both times it left soap residue in giant streaks across all sides of my car. so it doesn't rinse it well enough. Had my car wash stolen by the customer in front of me. Asked the cashier, who was not wearing a mask btw, to check the cameras to prove what had happened. I unfortunately didn't have the receipt because I didn't think I needed it and didn't want to create more garbage so, he refused to help. I confronted the customer who stole the car wash and his excuse was that the light saying go wasn't working. The camera only needed to be rolled back a minute to show what had happened. The carwash is extremely ineffective. My windshield still had a very distinct dust line on it from the windshield wipers and even the spiderweb on the license plate area was still intact. The lady working there said the carwash is only for a "light dusting" and that you're supposed to rinse your car before. The gas station has reopened after some sort of gas tank replacement work. However, for whatever reason now I cannot successfully fuel my car as the nozzle continuously disengages every 5-10 seconds. When I tried pointing this out to the attendant there, he just brushed me off. Terrible service. So I've tried refueling another car at this gas station just to see if it had anything to do with the older car. Nope, same story on my 2015 Toyota car. This is a review based on the gas attendant that wears glasses. It was about 9:30pm and I pulled up to get gas. When I was finished I went to start my car. It wouldn't start. My battery died. There were no other cars at the station but the gas attendants. I went inside and asked him if he could jump my car. He said no. That I can purchase jumper cables from him. I informed him I have cables. He said no he cant help. I let him know that I am 9 months pregnant and its dark and cold outside to wait around for another person to pull up. He said for me to walk to O'Reileys and go buy a new battery. I told him I just need a jump because I left my headlights on while putting gas and I need to get home. He said no he wont help me. I asked if it was against company policy. He said no that he just isn't going to help. I walked out crying. I am 9 months pregnant and its not like I have tools to to replace my battery. I find it disturbing that this man would not help me. I even said I would give him $10! Wtf. I called my boyfriend and he had his brother come jump my car. I used to go to this Chevron for car wash and gas. At least once a week. I no longer go here just because of the way he treated me. He made me so stressed. I've visited this station many times. In early April 2018 I purchased gas and a car wash. For reasons unknown to me the light green to go light and red to stop light did not work. I tried multiple times to get the wash to go on. It did not. I drove to the front of the gas station parked and went inside to ask for a refund as I did not receive a car wash. The barely understandably older female attendant refused to refund me the amount I paid for the car wash. I asked for the manager's name. She refused. Her response "The code is good for one month." Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. In the past I drove a different car there. I noticed a staining on the window trim. As I was waiting for the car wash I never got I saw a sign posted something to the effect that the gas station is not responsible for any staining. Too bad! read more
