These treatments were both done by Maegan Key. She was fantastic. The room was comfortable and Maegan did a great job explaining what to expect and I could tell she loves what she does by her enthusiasm and attention to detail. The Photofacial treatment did take a follow up appointment to get rid of all my "spots", but it was worth the money. The Cool Peel is a treatment to smooth out the "smokers" lines around my lips. I can't show picks because I got the work done yesterday and my face is in the healing process. I will try to post pics next week. Dr. Paz was there and I did get a Botox injections above and below my lips. She is wonderful too. She's gentle and professional.

I had to rush to Urgent Care the next day, where I received a Decadron shot (Steroid), a prescription for a Medrol pack (Prednisone), Famotidine, and Claritin for two weeks. The doctor at the Urgent Care said I had suffered a chemical burn to my mouth due to the chemicals touching parts of my mouth that it should not have touched. It has been difficult for me to speak, eat, drink, smile, and even go to work. I could not go into work on Monday (5/5/25) due to the severe pain. My lips are burnt, the inside of my mouth is burnt and has blisters. I cannot eat or drink like normal, nor brush my teeth. I have missed work due to being in such horrendous pain. I contacted the provider at Cosmo Med Spa and she told me that "I will be okay" and "she will pray for me." I am in so much pain that I had to see another doctor, my PCP, and she also diagnosed it as burns to my mouth. She prescribed Lidocaine. I am now on five medications and I still in tremendous pain (today is 5/8/25). The owner of Cosmo Med Spa stated that she will once again, "Pray for me." I will attach pictures and doctor's reports. About three months ago, a friend told me about this place and how great the deals were for "Tox" -- which, by the way, isn't Botox, it's Dysport. But for $2, I figured why not. I called to make an appointment, and their hours are the absolute worst. It's almost like they don't understand the basic principle of running a business: in order to make money, you need to actually be open -- not just every third Thursday and seventh Friday from 3:00 to 3:47 PM. I called about five times whenever I had a free moment and finally landed an appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early and was greeted by a TV screen with a person talking -- kind of like a Zoom receptionist. I sat down and listened to a very unprofessional conversation that dragged on through my entire appointment time. Twenty minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, I went back up to the screen to ask what was going on, which seemed to finally prompt someone in the back to act. A guy came out and asked what I was doing there. I thought that was a rude way to greet a customer, but I explained anyway since I just wanted to get it over with. Because it took so long, and he admitted he hadn't even known there was an appointment on the books, he ended up not charging me. I thought, okay, cool. But after about a week, I noticed no difference. I assumed it was just because Dysport works differently than Botox, and since I hadn't paid, I let it go. Fast forward to today. On an unplanned family day, my wife and I were out running errands with our toddler, and I asked if she wanted to get Botox. She said sure, so I called to check availability, made an appointment for a time they offered, and showed up 15 minutes early again. With our toddler in tow, we sat in the reception area for a solid 20 minutes. I went up to the kiosk receptionist again, and just like last time, that seemed to be what finally got someone in the back moving. This time it was a woman -- nice, polite, apologetic for the wait. That's actually what prompted me to write this review: while we waited, my wife started reading the Yelp reviews, and everything negative in them matched our experience exactly. We sat there debating whether to even stay, and ultimately took it as a blessing in disguise -- we left after about 10 more minutes of waiting and debating. Poor business practices all around! At the beginning of my appointment, I showed the aesthetician the specific areas I wanted addressed and explained that I came to Dermani because my previous place wasn't thorough with extractions. She assured me she would take care of everything, no problem. However, before even starting the facial, she was fidgeting around for about 20-25 minutes, leaving the room multiple times. It became clear something was very off. The aesthetician (whose name I'll keep private) appeared to be under the influence. She was slurring her words, rambling incoherently, laughing, and unable to stay focused. A facial is supposed to be relaxing and peaceful, but this was the complete opposite. When the service finally ended, I asked for a mirror and saw that none of my areas of concern were addressed. I pointed this out, and she brushed it off by saying the blemishes were "under the skin," which was simply not true. Many had already come to a head and could have been easily extracted. She refused to correct it. Out of discomfort (and because it was closing time), I still tipped her just to avoid an awkward situation. The next morning, I called and spoke with the manager, Ashraf, who said she would refund me. However, only the facial was refunded, not the tip. When I called back, the front desk told me they had decided not to refund the tip, even after I explained why I had given it. I was told Ashraf would call me back, but after 24 hours, she never did. I ended up going to another spa two days later, and they were able to extract everything easily with no issue. Don't be misled by the 4.9-star rating. My experience was completely unacceptable and unprofessional from start to finish. I have proof of everything stated here.
