Firstly they scared my fiancé so badly when they told us that we would have to sigh a waiver that it was that CRITICAL that they change the brake pads. Secondly as most know that the rear brakes are the easiest to change and are actually the ones that you use the least. They had NEVER made a sound as far as the squeaking inserts are concerned. Thirdly charging over $350 in my opinion is just nothing but gouging the customer. You can walk in any auto supply shop and get the top of the line brake pad kit for about $125. In my opinion $225 markup and labor is just taking advantage of the customer. They only warranty their work for 30,000 the other pads from the supply stores come with a life time warranty. Check out my review of my new repair shop for my positive feedback and review. Again this is my opinion and experience.

My SUV was overheating, and 3 different shops told me 3 different reasons/things were causing the overheating. None of which was the problem, so $500 later... desperately called CA for help. Mike told me to bring her in and he'd find and fix her problem. Not only did Mike fix my girl, his mechanic also fixed the knocking that NOBODY ELSE COULD... My front bumper was extremely loose, they fixed it!!! I had no ride to pick up my SUV once fixed, Mike offered to shuttle me instead of paying an Uber. CA is a full service garage, so all my girl's oil changes, tire rotations and anything else she needs will be serviced by City Auto.

I have had at least 3 different cars serviced at Lowetech going back six years. They were…read morerecommended by a friend because of their honesty. I am not a mechanic, but here is why I recommend Lowetech to ALL of my friends without reservation. I took my car for an oil change (at one of the chain oil change places) and they gave me the usual laundry list of services my car needed. A couple of them seemed fairly serious, so I took it in to Lowetech and said, "The oil change place said I need this, and you guys don't charge as much as they do. I need to get this done." Dan laughed and said, "We'll check it and see." They checked and said there was no problem with my car. I walked in, ready to pay, and they said, "No issues here. No charge". I got my car hung up on a driveway leaving a driveway with a drop off I did not see. Had to have a tow truck lift me off the curb so I was concerned about damage under my car. Took it to Lowetech and they put it up on the lift, checked it, said "No issues and no charge." Last story. I had a Chevy Malibu with a leaking radiator. I tried to pour sealant in to fix it without reading/understanding the very clear instructions, "Do not use this product if you fill your radiator from the overflow tank." Needless to say, I caused some damage to my car. Lowetech quoted me a price and went to work. Short version: one problem led to another on my car, and it took much longer to work on/fix than expected. I was prepared to pay MUCH more in labor charges, but they honored their original price. The only reference I have for price/value is what the oil change places, and dealership quote me (when I go in for recall work). Lowetech is always WAY cheaper. But the most important thing to me is integrity. So what if they are $50 cheaper than the place down the street if they are telling me/charging me for services I don't need. The Lowetech guys are men of integrity. I will continue to take my cars and send my friends there, gladly associating my name with their work.
