During the past five years, I've noticed a clear shift in how the firm operates--communication has declined, staff turnover has increased, and overall service quality has dropped. After paying nearly $1,800 upfront for my 2025 business and personal tax returns, I experienced over a month of delays with little to no clear communication. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly asked for information I had already provided, which showed a lack of internal coordination. On top of that, I was asked to sign an engagement letter late in the process, which was not properly delivered or explained. As a client of nearly 10 years, it made no sense to receive a generic engagement letter outlining services I've long been familiar with. There also appears to be a high turnover of staff. I was reassigned multiple times, and each new person seemed unfamiliar with my account, leading to redundant questions and confusion about my LLC structure. It felt like I had to restart the process repeatedly. It's also extremely difficult to get George Dimov on the phone, and emails often go unanswered. At this point, he comes across as an absentee owner, with much of the work seemingly outsourced to staff abroad who are not aligned or familiar with long-term clients. For a firm handling time-sensitive financial matters, that level of disconnect is frustrating. Even more concerning, there was a separate incident involving a former employee, Bob Liu, who went rogue and took client information, including mine. He processed one of my tax returns independently, and to this day I have never received a copy of that return. I had to notify George myself, as he was not aware of the situation. This directly impacted me by delaying a construction loan process I was pursuing with a bank. Most recently, after having over three months to prepare my returns, the firm still filed my tax return incorrectly. That was the final straw for me, and I ultimately decided to terminate my relationship with them. I also ended my payroll services with them. Despite paying $100 per month automatically for 38 months, they claimed I owed an "outstanding balance of $5,700 for 38 months of services." This was completely false, as I have proof of every payment. This situation highlights the disorganization of the firm and the constant turnover of staff who clearly are not aligned or aware of long-term client accounts. Overall, I can no longer recommend this firm, especially for clients with multiple entities or complex tax situations. P.S. The reviews here feel misleading. I've noticed that the owner is quick to respond publicly to reviews, yet does not follow up with his actual clients. If you're considering working with this firm, feel free to reach out--I'd be happy to discuss my experience further and share supporting documentation. As a result of the delays and mishandling of my account, I was also charged a late-filing penalty by the IRS.

Yes I did use the words "dismal" but the rest of his portrayal is not true and yes that's why a year after he posted his response I'm posting again too. I was meticulous with tabbed spreadsheets and organized paperwork - there was never just a pile of paper or box of receipts I don't operate that way. But in 2021 when I saw on NextDoor comments and questions about local CPAs, I wanted people to know it's not all rosy working with Mr. Reiner. Like I said, if you follow his rules it's good but don't deviate. I hope that clears up the motivation for my time delay.

I reached out, originally, because I'd learned I was negligent on an action due to an inheritance I got several year prior. He was patient and informative. I thought I was stuck with no options, but Jay was able to explain the handful of options I that were actually available to me. With the knowledge he provided I was able to make the best choice, and suffered zero repercussions form being late on the inheritance actions. We used other tax preparation services several times and felt somewhat confident all was well, until one year it wasn't. Though the establishment "made it up to us" we were happy to find Jay who explains things in such a way we feel comfortable with filing taxes each year. The attention to our individual issues has been welcoming. Each year he knows what happened previously and tailors his support. We've used him for planning ventures and large investments. He explains all the possible ramifications so that we go into new endeavors with eyes wide open.

He said to me that he didn't have much time as if he was doing me a favor, I tried to give him all the information I know and could, he then replied with a high tone... If you don't give me accurate information, I cannot give you a quote , pretty interesting introduction to this firm Wendroff & Associates to a new client, if they are willing to treat you in that manner in a introduction, I can only imagine how they will treat you if you have a need, emergency or concern. I politely said to Darren Wendroff "Director of Communications" LOL, that he didn't need to be rude to me and speak in that manner to me...     Update: So on top…read moreof my original complaints, upon deeper review they misfiled my taxes which resulted in me paying more than $10k than I should have. I'm of course waiting for my refund and hoping it comes through. Regarding the owner's comments about submitting it close to deadline. I submitted my documents weeks in advance (and ahead of their quoted deadline date for me to provide). I don't appreciate the implication that I submitted my documents late when simple email records can verify I submitted ahead of their deadline. Just say you were busy this year, had to deal with some staff shortages, what I don't appreciate is trying to pass it back on to me.

I called in in need of my payroll taxes reduced as I knew I was paying too much per paycheck. I was booked for an appointment super quick., Madina realized I'm in Maryland and opted to do a virtual meeting. She actually gave me a great discount and the price was way below what I thought I would pay. They advised it would be $55 for 15 mins. They stuck to exactly what they promised. In addition, I had quite a few follow-up questions and some adjustments had to be made after my initial virtual meeting. They didn't inconvenience me by making me meet again, Madina got things taken care of and only called me to advise that my questions were resolved. She offered to meet again for free if I wanted to speak to the CPA again. I was not ever charged for additional work or time to re-review the questions I had. They fixed every single concern/issue. My payroll taxes are now reduced. I'm thrilled and grateful for the outcome of using this CPA company.The best part, Madina did it with the most gracious and kind attitude. Kindness is for sure her super power. I would recommend this company 10 times over! If you're thinking about using this company, reach out to Madina!!!     During my first appointment with Make my Day I was met initially with an the CPA's assistant who…read moretook all my forms (which they had asked for) and talked to me for some time. This was weird because over the phone the appointment was said to be made with the CPA herself. So just be sure when you make an appointment that you know who it's with and what will occur. The assistant after looking at all my tax papers gave me a quote for $350- 375, then a quote for $450- 475, then a quote for $550- 575, then was told that I would you would need to charge by the hour to look at one thing. I'm a small business owner, and they advertise specializing in small bushiness, so I'm not really understanding that why I would need to pay her to research something like that. For each increase in price I was told that it was because she didn't notice that my taxes would require "additional work" in certain areas. She gave me the first quote after looking at all of my papers and no new information was provided the first quote to the then open ended quote of apparently I'm guessing $550 + hourly, but we don't know how many hours? Not a great way to run a business in my opinion. I liked the CPA but when it comes down to it they're going to have to run their business like a business- they can't increase the price 4 times during a meeting. They should be able to read the forms, ask some questions, give an estimate. (Edit: I don't have a ton of "issues" as the buisness owner below says, I'm just a small business owner. In fact the first increase was because "they didn't know they needed a schedule c" even I know that and I wasn't pressuring them for a quick estimate, I was happy to answer any questions). Also, the office setting is not professional. It has a really bare bones feeling. We met in the lobby (I would a private setting) and sofa was super uncomfortable, painfully so. They say that people can come in and DIY taxes with someone helping to answer questions but the little cubicles were totally empty while I was in the office- probably because this DIY area had absolutely nothing to offer- they didn't even have coffee! How can someone focus on taxes without coffee!!? (Edit: yes I brought the end of my coffee at first but did need more and didn't know they had any- I couldn't see it, I did look for it).
