Nicole Korbe has run the NKollectiv Gallery on Santa Fe Drive in Denver for several years…read more Motivated by a rent increase, she has acquired an expansive second floor space in an historic Englewood building that hosts the Fellow Traveler restaurant and Mutiny Comics on the first floor. The second floor has many options with a large event space, room for the NKollectiv gallery, a much-expanded studio for Nicole, nice restrooms, a great rear balcony, and space for a number of additional artist's studios. Nicole plans to be a presence in Englewood, expanding on her existing gallery with room for a group of artists and many additional events plus the opportunity for arts education. This is a great facility in an excellent location and I'm looking forward to the new version of NKollectiv plus many other arts-related activities. There are now a number of galleries within a few blocks of this spot and Nicole hopes to create some good synergy between them.

If you have had a chance to hang with Gordon, you know he is larger than life in oh so many ways. Come for the bold art, stay for the mid-century modern aesthetic. And while there, soak up the smooth sounds from the gallery and adjacent bustling south Broadway. Or, stroll over (and stagger back) from the semi-attached, but never detached, Englewood Tavern. Their reasonably priced beverages are the perfect companion to pondering art, humanity, and the cosmos. Do yourself a favor, and check out an exhibit in the immersive environment. This complex, a former VFW hall, now offers two large gallery spaces on the main floor with…read moreadditional exhibition space plus eight art studios and a community room on the second floor. The studios are available for month-to-month rental (there is currently a waiting list). The gallery spaces are also available for rental for art shows and other events. Free street parking is available and the building also offers an adjacent, free parking lot. The Chameleon Art Collective is resident at Blue Tile and produces periodic gallery shows there and at other venues around Denver. The gallery hosts the annual Thomas Jefferson High School Senior Art Show. Other exhibits vary widely in quality. Some are organized by the resident artists and others via gallery rental. Blue Tile has recently expanded into the north section of the main floor which offers a second, large exhibit space.
