I HAD HIGH HOPES, DIDN'T LOVE IT. All around: 2/5 I think the place is so cute and in a great little area. I love that they sell boars head, and have a cute little menu with drinks and food. However. the customer service could use a little bit of help; both workers were quiet and didn't really have a warm welcoming. Smoothie: 1/5 I did not like the warm temp of the smoothie, I didn't like the consistency, or the taste. I am new to the area and I will admit I am a smoothie snob! For some reason in the Downey - Montebello area it is extremely hard to find a great smoothie! I will not be back. I don't quite like that there is no restroom, but I could even bypass that as long as my smoothie has the right taste. lol. read more

My friends have been talking about this place all week and finally got to try it. Definitely worth the hype! My favorites are the chipotle chicken ciabatta (perfect taste and crunch) and classic pagode açaí bowl (fresh ingredients and perfect amount of agave). My friends got the MFD sandwich, mod tuna sandwich, and sao paulo açaí bowl and they all enjoyed it! Will be back to try different items on the menu when I'm back in Downey! This was my favorite açaí place. I feel bad writing this review as the guy who attended me was really helpful in recommending smoothies. Unfortunately I didn't like that he did not use any gloves to make my smoothies I had to throw them away because he was coughing and appeared to be sick. After a long/challenging meeting my brain needed healthy stimulation. Thankfully Açaí World was in the same building as the office I was at. I ordered the Kids açaí bowl which has one scoop of açaí and you can choose three toppings. The toppings are fresh and crunchy just how I like them. The portion is just right and fulfilling. This is a great little spot!! The service was fast and friendly which I greatly appreciated plus the shop was very clean. My açaí bowl was beautiful presented which is always a great part of the experience. I did find that the serving of acai was a little small for the price,and I wasn't completely blown away by the flavor but overall, I think you will really enjoy grabbing a bowl if you are in the area. Came here on a rainy day the service was very quick. When I walked in there was no greeting, they are really straight to the point here. The açaí bowls are nothing special, they are mediocre not out of this world. If you're looking for something to fill your açaí bowl craving these bowls will just do enough for you. Ordered the MFD which I order particularly because of the red peppers, got home and there was none. The person making the sandwich did not even mention the fact that the sandwich was missing something.... They also don't give chips away with your sandwich order anymore another bummer. There was nobody else there probably because of the coronavirus. We got the #2 sandwiche called "MFD" and an acai bowl (#1 Pagode). The sandwich has basil pesto, sliced deli chicken breast, tomato, veggies, red peppers and mozzarella cheese. They gave us 3 to 4 good slices of chicken which was tender and not dry! The pesto was delicious and I think it was on rye bread. It was a good healthy sandwich. The acai bowl was also good. I'm giving Açaí World 5 stars for one reason: their Açaí Waffle! Omg it is so GOOD! I've never had anything like it, the combo of the warm waffle with peanut butter with the cold açaí, fruit, and shaved almonds and coconut was amazing! We loved every bit of it until the very last bite. Definitely recommend! We also had the São Paulo Bowl which was açaí, kiwi, mango, and pineapple and it was great too! The diet prohibits sugar and carbs and the acupressure done on the ear is to help stimulate organs in your body to kick start weight loss, but if you minus the acupressure and on your own quit eating carbs and sugar I'm sure anybody would be able to lose weight. We came in at 2 on a Tuesday and they had just finished making a fresh batch (they are made every 30 minutes), so we lucked out on that and got to try these at their peak! Really wonderful. This will definitely be a stop for us when we are out this way again. Might even be worth driving for as a special treat from time to time!
