I HAD HIGH HOPES, DIDN'T LOVE IT. All around: 2/5 I think the place is so cute and in a great little area. I love that they sell boars head, and have a cute little menu with drinks and food. However. the customer service could use a little bit of help; both workers were quiet and didn't really have a warm welcoming. Smoothie: 1/5 I did not like the warm temp of the smoothie, I didn't like the consistency, or the taste. I am new to the area and I will admit I am a smoothie snob! For some reason in the Downey - Montebello area it is extremely hard to find a great smoothie! I will not be back. I don't quite like that there is no restroom, but I could even bypass that as long as my smoothie has the right taste. lol. read more

My friends have been talking about this place all week and finally got to try it. Definitely worth the hype! My favorites are the chipotle chicken ciabatta (perfect taste and crunch) and classic pagode açaí bowl (fresh ingredients and perfect amount of agave). My friends got the MFD sandwich, mod tuna sandwich, and sao paulo açaí bowl and they all enjoyed it! Will be back to try different items on the menu when I'm back in Downey! This was my favorite açaí place. I feel bad writing this review as the guy who attended me was really helpful in recommending smoothies. Unfortunately I didn't like that he did not use any gloves to make my smoothies I had to throw them away because he was coughing and appeared to be sick. After a long/challenging meeting my brain needed healthy stimulation. Thankfully Açaí World was in the same building as the office I was at. This is a great little spot!! The service was fast and friendly which I greatly appreciated plus the shop was very clean. My açaí bowl was beautiful presented which is always a great part of the experience. I did find that the serving of acai was a little small for the price,and I wasn't completely blown away by the flavor but overall, I think you will really enjoy grabbing a bowl if you are in the area. Came here on a rainy day the service was very quick. When I walked in there was no greeting, they are really straight to the point here. The açaí bowls are nothing special, they are mediocre not out of this world. If you're looking for something to fill your açaí bowl craving these bowls will just do enough for you. There was nobody else there probably because of the coronavirus. We got the #2 sandwiche called "MFD" and an acai bowl (#1 Pagode). The sandwich has basil pesto, sliced deli chicken breast, tomato, veggies, red peppers and mozzarella cheese. They gave us 3 to 4 good slices of chicken which was tender and not dry! The pesto was delicious and I think it was on rye bread. It was a good healthy sandwich. The acai bowl was also good. He gave us extra bananas since my husband wanted to order the #2 which only has banana! Haha but anyways the fruits were fresh and sweet. Sorry again no pictures I was too hungry! Ordered the MFD which I order particularly because of the red peppers, got home and there was none. The person making the sandwich did not even mention the fact that the sandwich was missing something.... They also don't give chips away with your sandwich order anymore another bummer. When we re entered the building to get ourselves a smoothie (mind you it's also Father's Day) the cashier says we can't buy another smoothie. We explained we gave the gentleman a smoothie who's sitting right outside her door and she refused service because we gave away our smoothies. Then when we asked for a manager she states she is the manager and still refused to help. And who's to say she's the manager she didn't even have a name badge. How can someone be so unempathetic and have such a cold heart? And this isn't the first negative experience I've had here. Almost every time I've came they've messed up my orders or just upcharge when I ask for a different size. No stars for this location!!
