My friends have been talking about this place all week and finally got to try it. Definitely worth the hype! My favorites are the chipotle chicken ciabatta (perfect taste and crunch) and classic pagode açaí bowl (fresh ingredients and perfect amount of agave). My friends got the MFD sandwich, mod tuna sandwich, and sao paulo açaí bowl and they all enjoyed it! Will be back to try different items on the menu when I'm back in Downey! It's a small shop so very limited seating. I've seen most people opt for taekout. Friendly staff and plenty of parking in the plaza.

I HAD HIGH HOPES, DIDN'T LOVE IT. All around: 2/5 I think the place is so cute and in a great little area. I love that they sell boars head, and have a cute little menu with drinks and food. However. the customer service could use a little bit of help; both workers were quiet and didn't really have a warm welcoming. Smoothie: 1/5 I did not like the warm temp of the smoothie, I didn't like the consistency, or the taste. I am new to the area and I will admit I am a smoothie snob! For some reason in the Downey - Montebello area it is extremely hard to find a great smoothie! I will not be back. After a long/challenging meeting my brain needed healthy stimulation. Thankfully Açaí World was in the same building as the office I was at. I ordered the Kids açaí bowl which has one scoop of açaí and you can choose three toppings. The toppings are fresh and crunchy just how I like them. The portion is just right and fulfilling. This is a great little spot!! The service was fast and friendly which I greatly appreciated plus the shop was very clean. My açaí bowl was beautiful presented which is always a great part of the experience. I did find that the serving of acai was a little small for the price,and I wasn't completely blown away by the flavor but overall, I think you will really enjoy grabbing a bowl if you are in the area. Came here on a rainy day the service was very quick. When I walked in there was no greeting, they are really straight to the point here. Ordered the MFD which I order particularly because of the red peppers, got home and there was none. The person making the sandwich did not even mention the fact that the sandwich was missing something.... They also don't give chips away with your sandwich order anymore another bummer. There was nobody else there probably because of the coronavirus. We got the #2 sandwiche called "MFD" and an acai bowl (#1 Pagode). The sandwich has basil pesto, sliced deli chicken breast, tomato, veggies, red peppers and mozzarella cheese. They gave us 3 to 4 good slices of chicken which was tender and not dry! It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. Then when we asked for a manager she states she is the manager and still refused to help. And who's to say she's the manager she didn't even have a name badge. How can someone be so unempathetic and have such a cold heart? And this isn't the first negative experience I've had here. I was looking for a healthier alternative to fast food on my way to Whittier this week when I came across Açai world. Parking was easy and the location was easy to find too. You can't miss the big sign outside. I walked in and was immediately greeted. My niece wanted a sandwich and the guy at the front was very attentive and willing to accommodate her order. Because it was our first time here, it did take us a few minutes to finish ordering but the cashier was patient and understanding. We ended up getting two sandwiches, Açai bowl, and two drinks for $30. Price was decent and the portions were big. The sandwiches are loaded with meat and other ingredients! Half a sandwich is pretty filling on its own. My niece said that she "gives this place a 10! It's so good" lol. Will definitely comeback to try other menu items. read more

This place rocks! Besides being healthy and good for u, the sandwiches here are filling and dont taste boring. The pesto sauce is awesome on the MFD, which comes on a whole grain bread or in a wrap. If u want to ditch the carbs, u can get it as a salad. The acai bowls are also very tasty and fresh, this is another good go-to spot after or before the gym. I love that they also sell supplements here and the staff is very knowledgable about what they sell. If u want a good protein shake, ask for the Miley Mike Special.
