We've loved sending our kid here. The staff, teachers and place is great. Always willing to help, and greet you with a "good morning". I have three sons -- 9 year old identical twins and a 13 year old. My twins grew up at Academy for Creative Learning, attending there from the time they turned two until they started kindergarten. My oldest son attended the ACL school age program during Christmas break and summer for three years. I cannot say enough good things about ACL -- our family has many very sweet memories of our time there. One of the features that distinguishes ACL from other child care facilities is that the owner pays her employees well and there is very little turn over there. The teachers (God bless them) work there because they love kids and they have the patience of saints (if my life depended on it I don't think I could manage even a day in charge of a classroom full of two year olds, but these ladies make it look easy and fun). Each teacher that we came into contact with took the time to really get to know my boys -- even though my twins look exactly alike, they were always treated like the individuals that they are. When they were three, one of my sons needed some medical tests in Dallas and I was stunned when his teacher spent the weekend driving all over town to find him a stuffed bulldog (his favorite animal at the time) to cuddle with during his test. During the year my boys were in the pre-K room our family went through a divorce and the teachers were such a big help in providing my boys the stability and TLC that they needed through that difficult transition. The hair salon was a great feature -- all you have to do is leave payment at the front desk in the morning and when you pick up your child at the end of the day they have a fantastic hair cut. The swimming pool was great too -- the daily time in the pool during the summer time went a long way toward my boys developing a love for water. The summer school age camp was super -- every day was filled with field trips, fun crafts, time in the pool and games. My boys still reminisce about summers at ACL -- especially the weekly visits from the snow cone truck. As far as I'm concerned, the only downside of ACL is that the food is kind of junky -- white bread, juice drinks, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and processed cheese are all featured prominently on the menu. I did find, however, that the staff was good about abiding by my request that my boys be served the healthier options and given water instead of juice drinks. My experience with ACL has been unfortunately unpleasant since the start. There is a waiting list of 2-3 years depending on the age of your child and availability but that wasnt really of concern to me. I went on a tour with a woman named Amy and she was very impersonal, stuck up and just rude. I thought maybe she had an off day and just brushed it off. Well, over this last year, I have kept in contact with the facility on estimated start dates and each time I call, everyone has been short and just overall rude. I dont know what everyones deal is but you can bet I will be taking my child off that list. If they are already treating me this way before my child is even enrolled, i can only imagine how they would treat my children once they are exposed to that attitude on a daily basis. Advice to management: get rid of Amy or train your staff on how to be kind to those around you. A basic concept your facility should be teaching to all of those kids that attend. She is turning your customers away because I am not the only mother that feels this way. read more

We've experienced both the day care and the afterschool programs and love them both. Our kids have a blast and we've found the staff to be very caring and attentive. The staff of the afterschool program are really fun and really engage my kids. The 3C's teachers are awesome! My 3 year old talks about her teachers all the time. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If I could give half a star I would. My son is 3 years old but has never been socialized around kids his age. ACL kicked him out due to behavioral problems. After being put on a waiting list for a whole year he was finally accepted, and only went for 2 weeks. The last week I had paid the full 150$ and he only went 1 day that week(Monday). The other 2 days (Tuesday-Wednesday)he was sent home because of aggressive behavior and had to miss the last 2(Thursday-Friday) Instead of working with him and helping him understand they rejected him. The very first day my son came home with a scratch on his eye. Not just a scratch but more of a burn. I understand they can't prevent a toddler from being clumsy but they have a class full of 25 kids and can't be responsible to watch all of them at once. Toddlers shouldn't have to sit for an hour straight for learning time. 10 mins max. My son would get bored and get up and that was "unacceptable" They are greedy and selfish for teachers, only looking out for themselves and their pockets. I paid the tuition and supply fee as well, another 80$, and was not refunded any money. As well as spending over 40$ for a party later on that week but he was not allowed to go. These people are lazy. And instead of living up to their standards they would rather lose sight of what's really important and that's the kids. Again I would not recommend this place to anyone.
