Whenever I emailed asking for a quote, Bobby always got back to me very quickly. They're often able to fit an insanely impressive amount of items and furniture into their moving vehicle. They are lightning fast to come in, assess, shrink wrap large items, and get them out the door. Everything from couches to vinyl records and dishes have stayed in one piece. After being pretty badly ripped off by another moving company when I first arrived in New York, it's a relief to know that Bobby and his team are honest, work hard as hell, and charge fair rates. Shopping for a moving company can be a challenge. From first contact til we completed the move, Seamens was super helpful and professional every step of the way, and, by the way, came highly recommended by my new building as a suggested moving company. Many moving companies quote prices by the items you have, and provide a flat rate based on those items, which could increase or decrease on the day of the move. Seamens prices based on the hour, with a 4 hour labor minimum (and 1 hour min drive time). For certain types of moves, such as a large 1 bedroom like mine, this worked out perfectly for me. Once we got the ball rolling with their Sales team (Mike is awesome and patient), they provided the COI to the new building, and everything was super smooth. They showed up slightly early on move day, and was ready to go at the agreed time. The foreman (Oscar) was very knowledgable, professional, and communicated well throughout the move to his team, and to us as the customer. The team was careful with my belongings, and respectful to the property of both the pickup building and delivery building. I would definitely recommend Seamens for any NYC move.

Unfortunately, right after they left, the couch leg collapsed. I contacted them, and one day later, sent a person who worked very diligently to fix it. He admitted to accidentally breaking it. I said, no problem as long as it's fixed. That couch wasn't even four years old. It's a name brand. However, it broke again on May 28th. Throughout the whole process, I remained polite, professional, and most of all kind and pleasant. Maybe this was my mistake. I sent an email with several pictures, and my contact person said that all communication with us is ended since the insurance company will now handle it. She attached a claim form. But the claim form didn't have a number or the name of the insurance company. I finished the claim form and sent it to them one week later. I requested confirmation of it. Nothing. I sent another email requesting confirmation. Nothing, no reply. Two weeks later, not hearing anything from an insurance company, I sent another email requesting the insurance company's name. Nothing. No response. Even though I had told them that since I injured my back, I worked on that couch. It's how I made my living. Why have they ghosted me? I would NEVER hire them. It is now July. My couch is still broken. They are taking no responsibility whatsoever.

Elsayed (owner) and his team moved me from NYC to Boston and they will be moving my parents as well. The team was very polite, courteous, reliable and hard-working. They handled my furniture with great care and kept me regularly updated en route to Boston. They provided me with a very fair quote and there were absolutely no hidden fees, which I really appreciated (I have been burned in the past from other moving companies). What impressed me in particular was that my parents had a very fixed date in which they could move, which coincided with something they had. I explained to the owner that it would not be possible for my parents to move a different weekend. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate my parents and provided extra incentives to his employees to make this date work for everyone. The owner treats his clients and his employees with kindness and this is really such a lovely business. I wholeheartedly recommend happy4moving to anyone who is considering a long-distance (or even a short-distance) move! 10+/10.

The movers turned up at 8.35am for a 9am appointment, they eventually came up to our apt at 9.15am. He surveyed our goods and said "ok no problem, we'll start with the boxes, i'll be right back" THE NEXT THING I GET IS A TEXT CANCELLING OUR MOVE at 9.35am! They claim our building we're uncooperative (UNTRUE ON SO MANY LEVELS) and that we were not packed... our entire apartment was packed and ready when they showed up. I had no discussion with the movers about this, they simply cancelled. Presumably because they couldn't be bothered to move on a Sunday. We had to find a last minute mover on a Sunday in July during COVID. THEY ARE THE WORST! avoid.
