This is Mexican Mexican food. My husband and I ordered the traditional tortas , one chicken and one al pastor. They were made with pan telera, the bread tortas are made with in Mexico, but you don't often find in this corner of the US. Both tortas were awesome, as was the fresco de jamaica that we washed them down with. The service was friendly and fast and they had a soccer game on the TV. Came here on a recommendation. Tortas: bread was on key, lots of well cooked ingredients stacked between. Steak tacos meat was dry, but sauces to add on were good(I recommend the green). We sat outside for nice weather but the tables embrellas were not put in correctly and they both dangerously tipped over several times. They do offer free refills on several fountain drinks available such as horchata or pineapple juice, however none of them were labeled so it was a bit of a taste testing game for us. Food overall could have used just a touch more flavor and a bit of salt, the fries for example didnt have any salt (they come with torta combos). Overall experience was in between OK & good. Would definitely come back to give them another chance and try out their Langua. I feel like this place has a lot of potential and personality. The soccer theme was also a nice touch, and refreshing to not see the usual cliche Mexican restaurant decor. read more

Hmmm, didn't love it. I wanted a variety so I ordered one taco each of: asada, adobada, pollo and fish. The fish taco was delicious although it was a very greasy fry. The asada and adobada were tasty but way too many fat pieces. I'm sure some people like them but I don't, and after pulling them out, I had very little meat. The pollo taco....gross!! The shredded chicken tasted like stomach acid. Is that an authentic mexican taste? I almost lost it. Needless to say, I only took the one bite. If I were to ever go back (not sure I will), I'd try one of the sandwiches as the tacos were a disappointment. Finally, a comment on the service. I had a very awkward 10 minutes when I first got there. I wasn't sure what kind of ordering format was used and stood near the register for several minutes without being helped. Then I sat at a table in case I was supposed to be waited on. After a few minutes of that, I went back to the register and yelled to someone in the kitchen who came out and took my order. My friends and I went here last night and their food was delicious. We got here 30 minutes before closing and it was really busy. They have very friendly staff and they were even generous enough to let us sit in and eat for some time after closing because they had a lot of people ordering at the time. Don't let the fancy website and menu fool you. This place is gross. I don't know what passes for Mexican food in Washington state but was not what I was expecting. The fish tacos are simply fried fish sticks on a tortilla. My friend got the chili pork which looked like pork skin in a chili sauce. Guac is definitely not fresh. Terrible service. Everyone that ordered after me at lunch received their food well before me and then only one of two orders was brought to the table. When asked about my order the waitress told me to wait because their was a "problem" with the fryer. Asked for my money back and she tried to short change me on my refund. I love the tacos here. They're a good size and the meat's good quality. The people that work here are very nice, but I have to take off points for two things: Slow service -- it takes way too long to prepare so sometimes you can waste way too much of your lunch time coming here and just waiting, wondering when your food's going to come out. But the worst problem is the disgusting practice surrounding the two bowls with radishes and pickled jalapenos and carrots. These are communal dishes. Ideally people would go up to these bowls and pick what they want. instead, the bowls are taken to the tables where people munch their food over them. This place had great food, however, it was nearly impossible to cut into my tortilla because they were using plastic silverware. What restaurant uses plastic silverware? I'm very environmentally friendly so this bothered me, but just also for the fact that I couldn't eat my food. I recommend bringing silverware or getting your food to go. I have been here several times and decided to finally take the time to review. I have had tortas, tacos, a burrito, and a huarache. I don't have anything to compare the huarache to, so don't worry too much that I didn't care for it. The flatbread type of substance that it was on was a little too dense and the toppings a little dull. I remember the burrito being a little gristly. The tacos were good and simple, and I still get them from time to time. The tortas, however, are dreamy. By that I mean that if I were to dream of a torta, it would be this one. And that I have dreamt of a torta. I tried them here for the first time, having never noticed them on the menu at other Mexican restaurants, or perhaps having noticed and immediately dismissed the idea as a bit strange. Since trying them here, I have also had them elsewhere, and there is no comparison. I have not been able to order anything but the Monterrey. I crave it regularly. The bread is soft but nicely pressed, and absorbs the tasty beef grease perfectly - think Philly cheesesteak. The carne asada is tender and flavorful. There is a generous amount of queso fresco? (the one that's like fresh mozzerella.) Well-grilled onions, sliced tomatoes, fresh avocado, and jalapenos complete the picture. I'm not sure how the jalapenos are prepared - they taste like maybe pickled then cooked on the flat top - but they're perfect. I love the taste of jalapenos but can't always handle the intensity of the heat, but the way they're cooked subdues that a bit. At 6 or 7 dollars, do yourself a favor and skip the $5 footlong down the sidewalk. read more

My favorite Mexican place in Bothell! They serve real, high quality Mexican food -- no over-cheesed American/Mexican here! As the name implies, they specialize in tortas (grilled Mexican sandwiches on special, soft, Mexican rolls). I've tried a couple of their tortas & their tacos & they have all been excellent! The "Real Madrid" torta, with virtually every topping on their menu, was unbelievably good! I also really liked their Conchinita Pibil tacos (shredded pork in a spicy sauce w/ pickled onions). Finally, I really love their horchata -- a cold, lightly sweet & cinnamon-flavored rice milk. Their menu is huge -- so I'll be going back frequently to try more! The only possible drawback is that the place is a little small and oddly arranged. However, if I can get more people to try it, maybe they can move into a bigger place :-). So go! my boyfriend and i go often. i love it, its authentic and very yummy. prices and portions used to be great until a few weeks ago they changed there menu and prices, now the portions are smaller and the price is higher, and the food isent as good as it used to be, used to love this place and now im dissapointed about the changes. almost 10.00 for a quesdilla now, and its only a half quesdilla.. no thanks ill make my own now. read more
