Let me start off by saying that we don't enjoy writing a bad review for someone. It's not our nature. This is a first. The work that was performed by AC Contracting was poor, and the care to surrounding structures was non-existent. As you will see in the photographs, the work should have been done with more care. First, let me say that the job was never completed. They never came back to clean up the forms and garbage they left behind. As for the forms of the walls, many were concreted in -- some still stuck, for hard access to the concrete that needs to be broken. I believe they probably have to be drilled and broken out, which is unprofessional and shouldn't be necessary. There are spots on the concrete that are dark and filled with dirt. And those spots are falling apart and causing pits in the concrete, which will need to be repaired. There are some large cracks throughout the concrete. And there are also large darker sections of the concrete that are mixed lightly with dirt, and those are also falling apart. The house and surrounding fence was splashed with concrete. A lot of it can just be scrapped off. But as the photos show, there is chisel and saw work that needs to be done. Likely, staining the fence would prove spotty. As far as the contractor, he didn't seem to care much about the job at all. He never even came back to inspect the work and demonstrate the professionalism you're looking for in a contractor. He told us multiple times he would pull the forms and haul them away. This work was never performed. Therefore, I wouldn't refer, or recommend AC Contracting. They've left us with a frustrating mess, and one we shouldn't have to deal with. Truth be told: If AC Contracting would have pulled the forms and hauled them away (like we were told they would be), this negative feedback would not have been written. We could have overlooked the other stuff as we were planning on coating the patio anyway. read more

I wanted some outdoor steps and railings installed to make the slope in front I'm house safer to navigate. Adrian responded to my request for a quote within on day. I needed a prompt response because I needed to get the work done as soon as possible. He was knowledgeable of city and ADA requirements. The work was done over a few weeks. This is a long overdue review, but I finally remembered to leave one. We needed our sidewalks after notices and fines from the city of SF. I called 20 different contractors on the city's list of vendors and many of them either never answered or eventually ghosted. Adrian picked up right away and stopped by that afternoon to provide an estimate. He did not provide the cheapest quote, but it was super reasonable and definitely wasn't the most expensive. There was no funny business with surprise costs and the work was completed on schedule. We bought our first property in SF back in 2004 and as new property owners we wanted to demolish a lot of the original interior buildout and take it back to the shell, clean it all up and remove the material but we were nervous because we hadn't done anything like that before. We used Adrian for this and he and his crew did a great job and I never forgot it. We were so happy that we used him for three more jobs at that same site as things progressed including demo'ing more interior, demoing and pouring new concrete outside. Now a decade later and several real estate projects under our belt and we have the need again for more of this so I went digging back in 10 years of notes to find Adrian's contact info, which led to me writing this review after I discovered his Yelp page. It was my sincere hope to provide a GREAT review to AC Contracting and to Adrian. However, I can only give a very good recommendation. We contacted Adrian for a mandated sidewalk repair and he was extremely responsive and provided a bid, almost, immediately. Upon acceptance of the bid, we pulled the permits the very next day and the work was completed within a week. The city inspector signed off on the job within 24 hours of completion. Remarkable work ethic these days. However, we had asked for photos of the project and was, repeatedly, told that 'yes' ... we will get them to you ... yes ... no problem. We have yet to receive any photos. So, the mountain was addressed with remarkable proficiency yet the molehill remains untouched. My recommendation would be that you could not find a better contractor than AC Contracting, but if you have any loose ends ... make sure they are addressed BEFORE payment is made since once that check changes hands - you will be in his rear view mirror. read more

AC was easily the most responsive of the handful of sidewalk/concrete contractors we called when our sidewalk (Richmond district) was tagged for repair. Adrian called us back within a day and we had a competitive written estimate within a day or two. His guys were ready to work about a week later, and they were great-A hard working bunch of guys that did a quality job for us.
