This location of Wash Me Express, which is a local chain of drive thru car washes, sits near the…read morelarge intersection of Highway 70 and Old Hickory. It sit's among another car wash, Hardees, Burger King and McDonald's that lines the side of Highway 70. For the most part, this Wash Me Express is your standard quick service/drive thru car washes that offers single washes of varying levels from $8 - $19, and an unlimited membership ranging from $19 - $29/month. I have not invested in an unlimited membership just yet, as their washes are inconsistent and their service is, well, not that great. Outside of the wash itself, they do offer vacuum stations that have a vacuum and clips for your mats. They did have a mat cleaning station, but the last few times I have been, it has been out of order. They do not offer much beyond the vacuum at these stations, and you got to be careful which one you pull into because several of the vacuums are underwhelming in pressure. I swing through and get the mid-level wash every few weeks and when I get home, I can usually see some spots that were oddly missed, normally on the back of my vehicle. This sounds pretty rough, but I equate running my car through this to basically getting a good hose down at home. It provides me a decent surface wash to get the top layer of dirt/dust/pollen off, not much beyond that. Relating to service, it is usually pretty sparse here. They will have someone stationed at the pay stations on occasion, and when they do, they aren't really helpful. I know they are supposed to help take payment and offer a plan, but they normally do not do either. The folks that direct you in are sadly not much better. I have been mis-directed on a few occasions which is beyond annoying. Overall, I hit this location of Wash Me Express for it's convenience. There is a neighboring wash that has higher quality product and self-serve stations, but it constantly has a wait...which should tell us something.

Once I got back in my car, it was genuinely so clean that I had to pull over and double check that it was actually mine so very much worth the price! It was my first time going so the process was a bit of a surprise but I described it below for you The process: you pull up and tell the worker at the kiosk what wash you want, you pull into the little garage area and hand over you car/keys to the worker, watch your car get vacuumed and go through the auto wash, then they bring it around and do a final wipe down and look through, finally they call out when your car is ready

All the employees and the owner at Suds Up have always been smiling and very friendly. It takes 3 minutes to get in and out, and my car is always clean. The dryer barely dried it the second time and there's no way I got any wax, only two things actually sprayed on the car and both looked like water. I still had soap on the front of my car and dirt on my front tires. I tried to vacuum but the two closest to my car didn't have any suction at all, I had to stretch the one from the next spot over. Wont be going here again and I'll be contacting them to get a refund. Neither employee wore a mask, nor did the one who spoke to me attempt social distancing. I had to step back from her being way too close.

There have been a few exceptional employees over those years, but they have a new one now!! I've recently met Anthony a team member at Riptide on Hillwood Boulevard Boulevard. Anthony is typically at the gates when you come in and does a great job talking to all of the customers. When I say talking, I don't mean just saying "Hi, thanks for coming in" I mean really talking and engaging. You might think well he's just goofing off.... You would be dead wrong about that. Anthony is the type of person that makes you happy to go to a business. He smiles, he jokes, he laughs, he makes you think like you're the only person in the universe, which is a rare quality in this day and time. Every time I drive my white 440 into Riptide I always hope that Anthony is working because I know I will be smiling by the time I get to the wash tunnel .....probably laughing.
