Anyway, this was the only place in Long Beach opened later than other places (6pm close time) and so I called and booked and drove there. Parked on the residential street & walked over. I got greeted by Sapana (spelling?) who was working on someone else's eyebrows (good job, btw) and I signed in and sat down. A lady was relaxed & asleep in front of me on one of the booth chairs! Good sign, I guess. lol! After she finished with the young teen, I got a waxed by her and she did a great job! I already forgot if it was painful! She's that good. Not sugar wax but strips. It was very warm so brace yourselves. She did such a good job, she didn't have to tweeze anything. I exfoliated, yesterday, before coming so I guess that's good. Finished in less than 30 min. And I was considering getting my eyelashes done for the first time... the ladies convinced me it was worth it and so I got it done with Aysha (spelling?) and she was pleasant and we carried on great conversation. I really wanted this to work because I know finding a good lash artist isn't easy. Unfortunately,…read moremy experience wasn't a positive one. My biggest issue was retention. My lashes started falling out almost immediately after my appointments. I had a previous lash artist for a long time and never experienced this, and since switching to someone new, I'm no longer having the same problem. Lashes are not falling out at all the next day. That makes me feel confident the issue wasn't my aftercare. Especially since my previous lash girl was amazing and I followed the same lash care. What was most disappointing wasn't just the retention, it was how the situation was handled. When I reached out, I didn't feel like my concerns were taken seriously, and I felt the blame was placed on me instead of there being any willingness to consider that something may have gone wrong. I even ended up going through a holiday weekend with my lashes looking patchy because I couldn't get them fixed in time. Beyond that, I never felt particularly comfortable during my appointments. The interactions often came across as unfriendly, and over time I started feeling anxious about going in. Getting lashes should be a relaxing experience, not one where you feel uncomfortable. I'm sure she may be a good fit for some clients, but based on my experience, I wouldn't return or recommend her. Customer service and how concerns are handled matter just as much as the lashes themselves.
