I've been going here to visit Dr. Peterson for my whole life now and I can't imagine going anywhere else. He's super nice and friendly and makes me feel at ease and comfortable, I got glasses when I was in 7th grade, which I hated but he made the process very easy and helped me to get over it, he then helped me with contacts once i decided to get them in high school, my whole family uses him and we all love him too. One of the few doctors I look forward to seeing! read more

Dr Peterson is the man. I've been going to him for about 16 years and have only had great experiences. He's very proactive in looking at every little aspect of your eyes to monitor for any complications that may arise. He always makes the best suggestions when it comes to types of contacts to wear, but at the end of the day if you eyes don't like them, he won't force them upon you. I also went in for a LASIK consultation recently. He's very knowledgeable and accomplished in the field so he was able to answer all my questions and give me a great idea of what to expect. I am still contemplating it, but I appreciate that I am not being pressured into it. The staff is also very nice and easy to work with. Billing and scheduling questions are always answered quickly. You can also order contacts online and they will automatically ship them to you. Bottom line: whatever your eye needs are i highly recommend Dr Peterson and his office! read more

Great doctors and great staff! Took me years to find a good team for my family!

My son poked me in the eye, and I knew I needed to get it checked out. It was the day before Easter, and I didn't think I'd have any luck til Monday. I called Dr. Peterson at 3:45pm Saturday, he drove to the Mokena office to see me at 4:15pm. He was extremely helpful, upbeat, and efficient. I went straight to Walgreens and had my medicated drops in my eye by 5pm. I couldn't believe how awesome the whole experience was, and how extremely patient-centered and personable Dr. Peterson was. I've been going there for over ten years for my routine check-ups, contacts, and lasik follow-ups, but this experience reminded me how grateful I am to live two minutes away from such a first class operation. read more

Dr. Peterson is great but there are great optometrists out there with staff that are friendly, admits when mistakes are made, doesn't accuse patients of lying, and won't make you go to a back room to tell you indirectly that you are a liar and, directly, are rude. They said they left me a message saying they no longer take my insurance but when I showed them my phone records and that they never called all they could say was "well, we left a message somewhere." They literally made me cry and offered zero apologies...except for saying, "I'm sorry you feel that way." The awful part was that I had just recommended them to someone and had to call that person back and tell them everything I just said about the place was wrong. I had to eat my words. I'll miss Dr. Peterson but I can't go back to a place that made me cry, called me rude, and wouldn't admit they made a mistake just "that a mistake was made somewhere." read more

For the love of God, go to Target eye clinic instead. This place charged me $400 just for a screening the last time I went there. I pay $25 at Target. This place is ridiculously overpriced and it takes forever to get out of there. I think I was there for an hour and a half just for one exam. I was in and out of Target within 15 minutes. This place is insane. read more

Dr. Peterson and staff are great ! He is always involved in the making of new contacts and passes that information to me and rest of his patients. I moved 10 years to northwest side ( job related). I travel 43 miles to Absolute Vision in Crestwood. I will continue to do so - they have a forever patient in me ! read more

It wasn't until we started going elsewhere that we realized how this place nickels and dimes you - extra charge for UV protection on lenses, etc - just isn't charged where we go now, and isn't built into the cost elsewhere because the overall prices are lower. We've also had issues with prescriptions going to the lab with errors and then having to wait for corrected lenses. Thanks but no thanks. read more

Dr Peterson and the whole staff are not just professional excellent but the make your day turned upside down into a smile. They tickle your funny bone. You can't leave feeling happy. I had a replacement coming from last year. So they even saved me money. Highly recommend you come SEE them. read more

Dr Peterson the best.. staff great as well appointments at evening as well so you dont miss work days

I've been a patient at AVC for 27 years. The care and attention patients are given is wonderful. My extended and immediate family are all patients as well. Dr. Rick is on the cutting edge of technology and has an unbelievable amount of knowledge and passion for eye care, prescriptive therapies and his patients. My daughter has also seen Dr. Chase for specialized eye treatment. He brings a great amount of knowledge to the practice as well. The staff is always friendly, professional and takes time to clarify any billing, product or warranty concerns. And AVC stands behind their products. My daughter's frames broke under warranty. They were no longer available to order them but they let her choose any frames in stock which would accomodate her lenses. She walked out with new frames that day we went in. Highly recommend AVC! read more

Dr Peterson & Dr. Johnson both worked together to save my son Conner's eyes. Conner was ranked in the bottom 5% for his reading level, was in a sub reading class. He went to a first doctor that prescribed glasses to correct the problems he was having with focusing on the books and blackboard. Then, I took him to Dr. Rick. Within 2 minutes of seeing Conner, doctor Rick called in all his nurses, to witness what someone else prescribed and why Conner refused to wear the glasses prescribed by someone else. Within 6 months of following Dr. Rick & Dr. Johnson's procedures specifically developed for Conner, he was put in the regular reading level class and later ranked on ISAT as above normal reading. In short, THEY BOTH SAVED CONNERS EYE SITE, RAISED HIS READING LEVEL, GOT HIM INTO REGULAR READING CLASS, IMPROVED ALL HIS GRADES TO A'S & CURED HIS CONDITION. On my last meeting, I referred an 18 year old kid, who has the same issue to have it also reversed. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY, TO HAVE ABSOLUTE VISION'S NAME AT EVERY SCHOOL, TO HELP KIDS WHO PLAY VIDEO GAMES TOO MUCH and/or have a drop off in their reading & grades at school.. I also want to take a moment, to state, that Dr. Peterson, has a wide array of knowledge, a truely interdisplinary thinker, that takes data from all sources in identifying the nature & cause of the problem. These people don't just treat the symptoms, they create a solution to the problem....something I haven't seen very often in the medical community. FYI, THERE AREN'T ENOUGH STARS IN THIS RATING, TO THANK THEM FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL WORK THEY DID TO SAVE MY SON CONNERS VISION, FUTURE & FUTURE HAPPINESS. read more
