The crispy soy chicken was PERFECTION, as were the fried dumplings and curry puffs! My dad ordered the prawn satay, and they didn't hold out on the prawns, it was a very generous serving! There was a high chair and plastic cutlery/plate for the toddler, and they even came out and sang happy birthday to my dad with a free dessert for him at the end! The waitresses were SO fast with their service, but also stood back so we never felt crowded or awkward. They were full of beautiful smiles all night, and deserved the tip at the end. Thanks again Infuzions for catering for EVERYONE and giving us such a lovely experience. We'll be back!

The staff were attentive(taking away finished plates, filling up glasses etc). Tonight we started with the duck pancakes and salt & pepper prawns. The prawns were cooked well and tasty. The duck pancakes came out deconstructed, so it was a bit of fun putting them together :). We had Pad Si Ew with chicken and Pork Belly Stirfry for main. The Pad Si Ew was great, the chicken was tender, noodles cooked just right and the sauce was so yummy. The Pork Belly was just amazing, not too fatty and the greens helped soak up that delicious sauce. I really recommend this place.

We got a table straight away even though it was quite busy when we arrived. We only had two menus between four people so it was a bit awkward. They have some awesome meals up on the specials board too, so check it out. You need to order at the counter. The staff lady was very helpful and was able to answer all the questions we had. This made it very easy for us to make up our minds on what we wanted to get. The food came out in good time. The wife got a chicken melt with a side of fries. I got the fish (flat head), chips and salad. The wife loved the chicken melt. It came with avocado and sliced tomato. Very filling, very fresh. Did not disappoint in the slightest. My fish and chips were terrific. The fries was cooked to exactly how I like it - hot fluffy potato on the inside and super crunchy on the outside. The battered flat head was amazing, crunchy batter and moist fresh fish inside. This was one of the few times I enjoyed my salad. Tartar was a little runny but tasted great. We had a cappuccino and chai latte. The drinks are big by Australian standards. My chai latte was silky smooth with a rich spicy taste. I'd happily come back here again as the cooks know what they are doing and are very proud of their work. Very chill, very cool. Five out of five!

Grilled Haloumi on sourdough smothered with pesto. Also had some avo, & blisters cherry tomatoes. It hit the spot!!! Just be warned that the Large coffee IS large. A bit like a mini bucket! Good, but big! Will make sure I pop back next time I'm looking for eats in the centre.

Perfectly balanced diet of meat, carbs, veggies and happiness…read more Like all good things, we started with two dips to go with the complimentary bread - garlic yoghurt and tomato eggplant. The smokiness of the eggplant shines through and the yoghurt gives it a tangy creamy coolness. Slip in a cheeky mint leaf and the world is good. The koobideh was massive on flavour and portion - so big it could feed a family of four or a hungry me. Tender juicy lamb and buttery fragrant rice. Sweet juicy chargrilled tomato and chilli to give it a kick. Ghormeh sabzi. Beautifully tender lamb pieces and beans. Fragrant herbs spices and dried lime. Massive pile of rice. Over the last few years though things have started to change for the better and Jaam-e-Jam is the latest shimering oasis in Hornsby's cultural dessert. They have been open a few months now and serve really amazing Persian food. For those of you who (like me, up until last night) has never eaten Persian, it's similar to Lebanese/Turkish/etc but at the same time, quite different. And it tastes amazing. Kebabs are a big part of the menu and we had the Jaam-e-Jam special which was a mix of minced lamb, lamb fillet and chicken kebabs, all beautifully cooked. We also had a chicken stew in a pomegranate and walnut sauce that was absolutely fantastic and a braised lamb shank served with broad beans, rice and dill. Fantastic. Everything is served with buttery saffron rice and bread. They also serve traditional Persian drinks - rockmelon juice with ice and sugar, carrot juice with ice cream (yep) or Doogh, a traditional spiced yogurt drink that's sweet, sour and salty all at once. Desserts included saffron and rosewater ice cream (available to take home from the Persian supermarket next door), traditional Persian sweets and some chilled rice noodles in rosewater syrup served with lime juice. Not your ordinary, everyday dessert selection and all fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. As first timers they advised us on how much to order (and got it spot on) and the prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit. They also do breakfast and lunch. Some of the Persian breakfasts might even tempt us out of bed on a weekend morning...

While there was no single origin coffee on offer, the mac I had was surprisingly good. Character notes other than chocolate and nuts are rare in blends from the larger roasters, but this one managed to avoid the over roasted taint, and still retain a nice blend of sweetness and acidity. Obviously I would prefer a black coffee option like a single origin coffee, but this cafe is finally a viable option in Wahroonga. Passion: 7/10 Crema: 7/10 Coffee: Gabriel

In all honesty I prefer the Butcher's Block - but this cafe does come at a close second. The coffee here is from Gabriel's. And sadly no single origin beans are on offer. The brew a nice cup either way. But I think the pull here is not the coffee, but rather the food. The food here is a good - I've only come for breakfast. They generally don't do any take away food, so this is more of a sit down place. The beacon, egg and avo toast is good, and the homemade oats are really good. Just a warning this place is small, and most of the times the tables are reserved. So either reserve before hand or be prepared to wait for a table. The staff here are friendly, and constantly apologize to you if you are waiting. So even though not as good as the Butcher's Block, it is still worth a visit.

The Garden Tap is an informal, small bar/pub food type place while The Cook's Garden is a fairly swanky (and very good) restaurant. We managed to leave the kids at home and go out for our wedding anniversary (19 years, thanks for asking). We had a booking at The Cook's Garden next door but stopped in here for a quick drink before dinner. We were very tempted to stay here instead. This is a small bar in the suburbs, so already a rarity. It's relaxed and casual. It's also not tragically hipster, which is a real rarity for a small bar. The drink selection is good (but not huge) with some nice craft beers and ciders. The food looks amazing though. Superb looking burgers. Amazing looking steaks. We very nearly cancelled our booking next door and ate here instead. We didn't though. We had a very nice meal next door and will have to eat (rather than just look at) the food next time. It's kid friendly so the next time we feel like taking the family out for the night we may well go here.
