Perfectly balanced diet of meat, carbs, veggies and happiness. Like all good things, we started with two dips to go with the complimentary bread - garlic yoghurt and tomato eggplant. The smokiness of the eggplant shines through and the yoghurt gives it a tangy creamy coolness. Slip in a cheeky mint leaf and the world is good. For a long time Hornsby has been a bit of a dessert when it comes to eating out. Other than the Westfield food court there really wasn't much around. Over the last few years though things have started to change for the better and Jaam-e-Jam is the latest shimering oasis in Hornsby's cultural dessert. They have been open a few months now and serve really amazing Persian food. For those of you who (like me, up until last night) has never eaten Persian, it's similar to Lebanese/Turkish/etc but at the same time, quite different. And it tastes amazing. Kebabs are a big part of the menu and we had the Jaam-e-Jam special which was a mix of minced lamb, lamb fillet and chicken kebabs, all beautifully cooked. We also had a chicken stew in a pomegranate and walnut sauce that was absolutely fantastic and a braised lamb shank served with broad beans, rice and dill. Fantastic. Everything is served with buttery saffron rice and bread. They also serve traditional Persian drinks - rockmelon juice with ice and sugar, carrot juice with ice cream (yep) or Doogh, a traditional spiced yogurt drink that's sweet, sour and salty all at once. Desserts included saffron and rosewater ice cream (available to take home from the Persian supermarket next door), traditional Persian sweets and some chilled rice noodles in rosewater syrup served with lime juice. Not your ordinary, everyday dessert selection and all fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. As first timers they advised us on how much to order (and got it spot on) and the prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit. They also do breakfast and lunch. Idk how this place has 5 stars. Food was bland and overpriced. 576 reviews on google and 4.4 star rating. Doesn't make any sense as we where the only people there around dinner time. My best guess is that they're fake reviews. Not to mention you get more meat on one kebab two minutes walk down the road for $10 rather then $50. Although staff and service was good. read more

I found a snail in one of the dishes then I called manager and show her the snail and explain for her that I found this in one of the dishes, the ......... manager instead of apology and changing our dishes just said poor snail !! we all shocked, I explained to her that its shell can carry leech but she replied rudely "we can't do anything sometimes its happening". if you care about your health never go Jam e Jam resturant. read more
