But since I had already started and broken something, and am low on confidence when it comes to plumbing, he was also willing to help, and made an appt. with me for the very next (Sunday) morning, since my work schedule is just insane. He listened to the type of handles I wanted to replace mine with, while the stems were being changed, and when I was unable to find any I could get easily, quickly enough, he went out and got both types and brought them for the appointment! I was THRILLED that he found the "X" style I wanted and we tried those, but my architecture didn't support them, so sad! But he had the others at the ready, and went ahead and completed the repair, replacing my stems and handles, and fixing the leak that had been plaguing me for months. A couple of weeks later, the showerhead, which had been installed without leaks or issues for 7 months, started suddenly *spraying* water on a Sunday and it didn't seem usable (confirmed Sunday night when I tried to and turned the bathroom floor into a small lake and sprayed the door, the wall, just water all over) night and I couldn't use it, I wasn't going to be able to shower until it was fixed. This happened out of nowhere, the thing had been installed for 7 months and I hadn't done anything to cause a change, I don't move or swing or twist the arm, or even the head, at all. And so, I immediately thought it happened when Dave removed the showerhead to make room to work and put it back up when he was done. I thought he'd just removed the big huge rainfall showerhead to get it out of the way, since it's big and bulky and comes to about eye height for his height, and I was sure he'd *had* remove it so he'd have room to do the repair he did. I'm still a little baffled how it fit and was able to be moved out of the way, but he did. And I don't recall actually ever seeing it removed. We set an appt for the following Sunday, I couldn't make one for the week days since I've been working 11 to 12 hours a day (and had just worked a 12+ hour 6th day the day before this happened. This was before I realized how bad of a water issue it created when it was on. After I realized I contacted him that evening and said, I can't wait til the weekend, can we do anything during the week, I'll just have to take some paid time off for the appt. Spoiler alert, I didn't know it until partway through the appt when he came and fixed it, but Dave never removed it! I'm still kind of stunned about that, I don't know how it fit out of his way, and I don't recall seeing it at all when he was doing the repair, so I thought it had to be out, but I don't recall seeing it anywhere as removed, either (after he told me he hadn't removed it, which totally makes sense that he wouldn't, I just don't know how it fit out of his way!) But the point of that is, I was *sure* that was the catalyst for the sudden water spray situation, I thought, oh sure, it just didn't get secured exactly as it needed to be and a couple of weeks later it was showing... which doesn't make much sense, when I think about it, but it seemed like it couldn't be coincidence and I was sure it just didn't get back on just right, or something. It wasn't even the thing being repaired, so it seemed easy to imagine maybe it was a bit loose, or something. He made time for me, he came at 8pm on Thursday night to save me, since I hadn't had a shower in 4 days at that point and couldn't wait another 3 days! Even though I'd believed the problem stemmed from the day he did the repair, I was shocked to learn it wasn't, he STILL didn't charge me!! All of the work, and coming to take care of it so late in the day, and everything, and he fixed it and there was no charge. He knows i'm in a very bad place financially and that I'd thought there'd be no charge, and even though he fixed something not even caused by the original repair, he didn't charge me. What an ANGEL!! What a fantastic work ethic, and he had sympathy for my plight, and understanding of my financial situation! Dave is amazing, if you're looking for a plumber I highly recommend Plumbing Geeks. I wanted to hire him to also reinstall my automatic water converter and was disappointed to learn I guess external plumbing isn't the same as internal. Several months ago I made a point of jotting down the phone number from the side of the vans and I programmed it into my phone. I had a feeling that someday National Plumbing & Rooter was going to be MY plumber. Lately, I haven't been getting hot water in my shower. There was ample hot water everywhere else in my house, but in my shower the water temperature never raised beyond luke warm. What are you waiting for! Art did all this extensive work at the old home I just bought in the San Fernando Valley. Before meeting Art, I had already spoken to two different plumbers and had received their bids. The first plumber, recommended by someone I know, was nice and professional but man was he pushy. He immediately said I needed to replace all the pipes without doing a thorough check. The second plumber did a thorough check but his price was ridiculously expensive. I was becoming discouraged, thinking there are no good plumbers out there, until I met Art. First of all, Art is an easy going, down to earth professional. He walked me through the whole process and showed me my pipes with his pipe camera. He advised that the pipes were corroded but may be saved by CIPP (epoxy lining within the pipe), but we wont know until we descale the pipes. If we descale and see substantial damage, then pipe would need to be replaced entirely, as Art advised. He was able to salvage the bathroom to backyard pipes by CIPP but had to replace the kitchen pipes to the backyard (I saw on camera how the descaled corroded pipe was beyond repair). He saved me a lot of money by not having to break ground inside the home and instead rerouting the pipe entirely through the side of the house and backyard. The job was extensive, requiring 3 days to complete and having to break concrete outside on the side of the house and dig large holes in the backyard (look at my pictures). But they did an excellent job putting brand new high quality pipes that will last a lifetime, redoing the concrete, and even saving my grass and putting back as if no worked had been performed. Despite all this work, his price was excellent. Art also saved me from a major potential problem. Just yesterday the sink to my main bathroom was clogged --and this was the day before I was having my family over to celebrate my dad's birthday and housewarming party. I called Art and he came to the rescue! He had to remove the p-trap to get to the root of the problem and in doing so, he saw the p-trap was old and breaking into pieces (looks like the previous owner had never changed it). What's more, there was a very hard substance in the p-trap which he had to scrape off with a large flat head screwdriver and a large plumber's wrench, which he used as a hammer to get rid of that very hard substance. Art was able to remove it after using elbow grease, and he replaced the p-trap with a brand new one. Almost forgot to mention that Art was able to install my washer and dryer, including buying brand new hoses and valves for the cold and hot water. Knowing that I found a plumber for life makes me sleep much better at night. Art is the best in the trade. I highly recommend him.
