On Monday I got out of work early and stopped by, but they were busy -- fair enough. The next day, I called to schedule an appointment for Thursday 9:45am, the only other time I'm off work and have childcare this week. Instead of booking me, they told me to call back Thursday morning 9am because the person on duty didn't know the schedule for that day. That didn't make sense to me -- I didn't want to wait until the last minute to find out if they could fit me in, especially when I'd have no time to find another option. Because of this, I booked an appointment elsewhere. It's disappointing that they couldn't accommodate a walk-in and also made scheduling an appointment unnecessarily difficult.

I shared a room with one of my sisters who was getting the prenatal massage, and while my bed was heated, it got so warm that I started sweating and had to ask them to turn it off. A male masseuse came in to work on me, which I personally didn't mind, but I do think they should ask clients their preference beforehand. As for the massage itself, it was just okay. I usually leave feeling completely relaxed, but this one didn't really do that for me. The techniques weren't great, and some of the small touches I've come to expect, like a head or scalp massage, never happened. When he moved to my legs and feet, he put on gloves, which honestly made it feel awkward and less soothing. There were a few moments where I felt more uncomfortable than relaxed, which kind of defeated the whole purpose. My sister's prenatal massage was another disappointment. About 20 minutes before her session was supposed to end, the masseuse told her she was finished and asked if she wanted to wait outside or stay in the room and rest. That meant she only received about 55 minutes of her 75 minute session, which felt really unfair considering we paid for the full time. The checkout process was the final straw. I was told there's a $1 per person fee for paying with a card, which already felt unnecessary. I was charged $233, and then the staff realized they rang it up incorrectly and charged my card again for an extra $20. The whole situation felt messy and unprofessional, especially after being told there was a specific card fee and then seeing extra charges added on anyway. Overall, I left more frustrated than refreshed and won't be returning.

The receptionist was kind and had me fill out a massage intake form so it would be personalized to me. I chose to get a deep tissue thermal massage. They have women's and men's locker rooms to change into a robe and sandals. One thing that I didn't love was how small the women's locker room was. When there are three or more people in there changing, it's a little bit too close if you don't know the other people there. After changing, they have a relaxation room where you can calm down and wait for your masseuse. I was a little bit uncomfortable waiting, as when I entered the room, there was a man who was fully dressed and on his phone while sitting there. As a woman in nothing but a robe, it made me uncomfortable that he was on his phone just sitting there. I'm sure he meant no harm, but I would have liked it more if phones weren't allowed. It would be more relaxing. The massage itself was wonderful. I had Mira, and she did a great job releasing some of my tension in my shoulders and neck. She did some nice stretches during it too. I especially enjoyed the heated packs she put on my back and neck throughout. After finishing the massage, you are offered water, champagne, or a mimosa, and can go back to relax in the relaxation room. Overall, I really enjoyed my massage and think it will help my body feel better. Just wish the relaxation room was phone free for peace of mind.
