Stellar Afghan cuisine in an intricately decorated setting. We got two Table D'Hôte #2's: one with…read moreSoupe Mashaba and Kabuli Palaw, and the other with Soupe Maison and Ashak. The complimentary Afghan flatbread they gave was different from naan/pita, a nice crispiness and airiness. It paired well with the three complimentary sauces they provided. The Soupe Mashaba was definitely the better soup out of the two, with a nice savory profile compared to the chicken noodle soup-esque flavor of the Soupe Maison. The Kabuli Palaw had a huge portion of succulent lamb shank and rice. The raisins worked surprisingly well in the rice. Likewise, the Ashak was also a large portion, had three different basmati rices, and many flavors that worked well together. Easily worth the price!

There is a policy that each person must get a meal dish, this doesn't include apps or salads so if you are planning to all share this is not for you. We got the 2 meals which includes soups, dish, and dessert which allowed us to try both soups and desserts. Of the dishes got the Chicken Kebab, Kabuli Palaw (lamb), Mantoo, and Kofta Chalaw (beef). The soup was pretty good coming in a small bowl. The Mashaba reminded of wedding soup and was the one I liked best. Each dish comes with a lot of rice and by a lot i mean a huge plate full. It was a lot of rice for supposedly one person with meat ratio being quite a bit less. My favorite had to be the Beef, the sauce of this was really good I was just eating the sauce and rice itself. The sauce on the Lamb was really good too but there was just a lot of bone. The Chicken was a little on the saltier side but a great dish. The Pasta was not a fan favorite, the vegetable flavor was a little strong and there was a lot of it. The workers were really patient with us even though we were taking a long time to order. For dessert they have us extra so each person could have some a which was so nice of them. We ended with some complimentary tea which washed everything down.

Ambiance: it sure definitely changed since I was here the last time! It's more busier and way more people and much more busier from my last visit which I'm very happy to see. I'm glad people enjoy it as much as I do .. that way I know they won't be gone and I can come back as often as I can to enjoy their AMAZING AND DEEELICIOUS AUTHENTIC aghan cuisine. Service: always consistent and superb service. The people behind the counter are super friendly and care to give their utmost best service! They are now running around with over 5-10 people in the kitchen as it's quite busy and they have many people working to get their food orders up.. fairly quick and quality is always there! Food: It was THE MOST DELICIOUS meal I had in a while! We ordered many different meals as we both didn't want to cook tonight and felt like trying something different. I am obsessed with their Mantoo .. it's these savoury beef dumplings with an amazing sauce to die for it was Deeelicious. We tried their chicken soup for the first timee and boy was it bursting of flavour. I definitely recommend it when you come try the place out. The Lamb shank wow I wish there was more lamb as it was cooked so perfect.. it literally fell off the bone and it was amazingly tender.. left a mouth watering flavour in my mouth!!! Their rice , lamb, eggplant dish and everything probably on their menu is so rich in flavour I bet anything you try will leave a mark in your mouth!!! Ahaha It's unique , authentic and really worth the price. It is pricey but common its so worth it and it's not as if you have to dish out over 500$ .. You can easily leave full with just 2 entrees their portions are Huge and generous. Overall, my husband was really impressed when He tried it and we will definitely be back for more as the quality, service and food was A1 !! I definitely recommend this place for Real authentic Afghan cuisine .. you won't be disappointed!!! Cheers

The service and the kindhearted people who work here truly make all the difference. We went a bit earlier this time and we were the only ones dining, with the exception of someone who came in for a pick-up order. The ambiance was therefore very quiet and cozy but I always think this as I love the simple brick decor and surroundings. (At the time we dined, they were still finalizing the kitchen prep and our food still came out quickly!). Everything was so good- the eggplant continues to be our favorite appetizer! This time, I got chickpeas with chicken, rice, salad, and I had a little bit to bring home for leftovers. I could've eatery the entire plate but I honestly just wanted to have some more to enjoy at home later on. My partner had a dish that was a combo of the lamb and beef and the taste I had was very good- I may even order that next time. The chickpea dish was perfect though and it really hits the spot. Overall, another great experience and we never regret coming to enjoy a meal here.

I'm comparing it to Riaz Kebab in Laval and unfortunately the fOod isn't as good as the one in laval... but its second best... it's pretty cool as the lady is there handrolling the dumplings and making the food from scratch! Location: in a strip mall with limited free parking Ambiance: The place is a hole in the wall lol so don't expect anything fancy... Food: rice and dumplings are delicious and the portions are very very generous ! The rice was delicious tender and fresh .. dumplings got like 12 dumpling for half the price of riaz kebab .. lol so im happy and they are wayy better on that aspect.. the samosas are Amazing 5/5 and I really enjoyed the dipping sauce it came with so good! Lots of food for the price you pay! However, my lamb shank dish 3/5 with the raisin rice carrots I was kind of disappointed.. was barely any lamb ..it was in pre cut into pieces of maybe 3-4 kindove sad it was so good but Not much lamb ... I wish it was served on the bone like I'm use to ! The lamb stew was amazing loved it 5/5 The eggplant dish was ok too maybe 3.5/5 The Kebab dish (Chicken & Beef) 1/5 very chewy/ Overcooked not very happy as I wished it was more tender. Service: Exceptional A1 service i think it was the owner serving my food and he and his mom seemed to really care about their customers and made sure to please us the most as they could Overall very cool place with a great customer service and experience definitely recommend this place .. I also recommend them for catering as the price is very good and generous portions hope they can just cook the meat more tender next time I come ahaha cheers ;) will be back for sure

Fortunately, they just recently opened up their doors here in Laval and right on my daily commute path. I gotta say they did a good job attracting people from the outside of the restaurant with their chic decor and enough lighting to grab your attention. Specially with that big "Halal" neon sign in your face. I dunno, mixing religion with anything else is really not my thing plus stating the obvious like a peacock? I personally don't like that no matter what religion it is. Each to his own, keep your faith in your heart and to yourself please. Does the general public need these things shown off, flaunted and make the rest of us the none halal people feel alienated or welcomed in your establishment? Specially on businesses which their sole purpose is making money! My reaction: shaking my head..... then sticking with the main subject: Whatever, take my money. Where's the food? Back to the main topic. One word: Very good! I was hesitant between the Herath kebab and Mantou. Went with the first one only to test the quality/taste of the beef and chicken since both come on the same plate. Very nice choice. Good marinade, good taste and cotton soft meat all with a reasonable price and ample portion. I am definitely coming back here and trying their other awesome looking dishes. I have a feeling they're as good if not better than what I just had. The place is very clean, simple yet trendy, flavours of the east and west mixed well all over the place and then topped with good background Afghani music that matches the food cooked on charcoal you're consuming. Good job and wish them success at this difficult corner of this street. Lots of other businesses before them had come, tried and failed, many times that I've lost count. I'm bored seeing that kind of unpleasantness. Hope they'll stay here for a long time, prosper and become a permanent fixture. Good luck!

They have a variety of afghan meats from chicken, beef including filet mignon, lamb (e.g. lamb chops), etc. The food quality grade for this price meets expectations, nothing more or less. However, the flavours are well balanced with the rice and salad. Salad is more on the tangy side, rice is more on the basic afghan scale and the meats are well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Not crazy about their red hot sauce (tastes like average hot sauce you buy at the local grocery store), green mint sauce is good, however what is disappointing is they don't have white sauce. Being a New Yorker, the afghan restaurants in NYC all have complimentary white sauce which is the sauce that puts the entire dish together, but maybe, it's not common in Montreal. Anyways, I would still choose the afghan places in Toronto and NYC over Montreal, but this one does live to its expectations if you've never tried the afghan food in Toronto and NYC. I took some pictures of the decor and the bathroom sink in case if anyone is interested in that... ‍
