In a city of many lebanese restaurants, this is honestly one of the best. Unassuming because it's in a food court, the meat is some of the best I've had in Montreal. The shawarma is not as dry as some of the other places and the portions are large. Salads are good and don't feel old, and the couple working there are both very nice. The only thing that wasn't the best is the potatoes. A little large for my preference and they don't have the garlicky oil all over them like some of the other places. Dipping them in the white garlic sauce though you barely notice. This is near where I live so I plan to come here often! read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this place! The staff was really nice, everything was clean, and the food tasted amazing. They also do catering for business parties or large groups. I came here for lunch really craving a shawarma and some garlic sauce. I usually just go to Boustan for that but decided to give this place a go. The meat was great, the sauce was creamy, and the overall wrap exceeded my expectations. It tasted fresh and savory. This place is located in the Galeries du Parc but they made an effort to have their own seating area so it looks much nicer than the rest. They also serve fresh juice and desserts. The potatoes were cut a bit too big for my taste, but they were still very good. Not my favourites though. Highly recommend! read more

Their beef shawarma is one of the best I have ever had in my life. It's not a take out place where you stop by one day and forget about. I came here with no expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The meat was well-seasoned and the toppings tasted fresh. The price ($6.49) was also reasonable. One star off because I got a little cringy when I noticed that their staff use their bare hands to make shawarma sandwiches. I hope the cooks don't share the cash register duty. read more

Set apart from other Shwarma stops by virtue of the care and precision in which the food is prepared/served. A simple authentic taste of Lebanese-fare, it takes care not to slather grease or deposit salt over its food. As good as the classic shish taouk is, my favorites here are the tabbouleh, as well as the grilled items. The merguez and kafta are absolutely delicious. Wow, it's very rare now a days to find authentic Lebanese food because restaurants try to adjust flavor and spices to suit local market, however, this restaurant is very much adheres to the original recipes which I am familiar with in Lebanon. This is not a chain, it's a mom and pop restaurant and I must mention it's a self service restaurant. It's a generous helping of quality food at a very reasonable price. The location is not visible from the outside because it's located at the eatery section of the building mall. We went there late afternoon with my mom, wife and kids. We requested from the owner to make us few small plates from the main offerings including tabouleh,batata harrah, hummus, baba ghannouj, medardara, soujouk, kafta, shawarma beef and chicken, shish taouak and Lebanese sausages. The daily dish was fried milk fish with fried bread. Yes, it was unbelievable feast like no others. Every dish was outstanding, the fried fish was exceptional. Sometimes restaurant owners exaggerate. "I buy the finest ingredients, hand-prepare everything, nothing is frozen, etc. etc." At Farrouj, they are not exaggerating. Nothing is frozen, and everything is hand-prepared with the finest ingredients. This is by and far the best Lebanese food I have had in the city (and they deliver!) This is the kind of place where workers and owners are so friendly, sometimes you have to argue just to pay them. I experienced this as I wanted to charge to my credit card half of my four dollar side of potatoes with garlic sauce and pay the other cash. While the owner had no problem taking the card for such a small amount, he gave me the potatoes for two dollars cash and said it wasn't a good idea to put the other two dollars on my credit card. When I insisted I'd pay him back when I had the cash on me tomorrow, he argued and said that I was a good customer and that he didn't want the money, this was a gift. I had to sneak in two extra dollars into the tip jar the next day when his wife was working. That is the kind of place Farrouj Express is: very friendly staff and owners, excellent, very fresh food for great prices. As a destination in of it's own, if you work in the Tour AirTransat, before or after a movie at Cinema du Parc or if you live in the LaCité complex or the Milton-Parc neighbourhood, make sure not to miss out on this underground treasure. *Just remember they close a little on the early side so don't miss out; buy early and eat later if necessary! (Oh, and I come here for the potatoes.
