We were 3 adults and two kids trying to be strategic and not overspend with ordering. So we went with a platter combo that comes with four styles of grilled meat, salad, lentil soup, rice and grilled veggies for $62? We also ordered a side of a sort of dip that is made of eggplant, tomatoes, onions and garlic. Everyone loved everything, except for the lentil soup. Best Persian food in Montreal and yes that's coming from a Persian woman! :) We've tried almost all the Persian restaurants and Khorasan takes the crown. The meats are fresh and cooked to perfection. Service is a little slow but nothing major. Ambiance is okay, some Persian art or music would be a great addition. We had the Filet, ground beef and chicken skewers. 10/10 they were so juicy and tasty. The soup was also really good which comes with the meal. Overall, a must try! Can't wait to go back. read more

I could leave a 2 or 3-star review, but here's why I don't: today we placed an order for your "Special" dish (Paid $60+ on UE) to compare with the special dish of another Iranian restaurant on Atwater St. that's way closer to DT and we often order from, and I mentioned it would be my first time ordering from you! Food arrived after more than an hour!!! since the order was placed, through UberEats, with not-so-professional packaging! No tahdig or zereshk with the rice. Kebabs were soggy, not tasty, with big chunks of burnt onions and peppers. Meat chunks of "shish kebab" was a bit raw and almost broken down in some sort of marinating acid?! Saffron chicken was not by saffron!!, but food coloring. And yet, you charge more than the other restaurant, while they generously offer a 3-appetizer with their special dish, and better in every aspect I compared here! We were charged for dishes of soup that were explained as free starter ( choice of soup or salad). At the end we were charged for those free dishes if soup !! Kobideh was not originally from meat 100% and it was mixed with some other unknown ingredients to save them in the mount of meet. read more

Shared a wonderful meal with my husband at this unpretentious restaurant on Sherbrooke. The bean and noodle homemade soup hit a great spot and all of the food was well seasoned and not greasy. We shared #10 which included 6pieces of grilled marinated chicken and a skewer of seasoned minced beef with basmati rice perfectly cooked and a grilled tomato. The seasoned onions added to the meal. Yummy baklava for dessert with some tea. Best meal we have had in NDG in a very long time!!! We will definitely be back. read more

Khorasan had an uphill battle in my eyes. I'd been burned twice before by a Persian restaurant by me back home in Jersey, but my wife was looking for a less-heavy meal and she perked at Khorasan in hopes of the Wednesday special, a chicken stew sorta thing. I was skeptical, and she raised a good point: it wasn't like me to condemn an entire cuisine at the fault of one restaurant. It was also literally 5 years since we went. Off to Khorasan Kabab, then. We sat out front, they brought out pita bread. And pats of butter. What? I mean, okay, bread and butter I get... pita bread I get... but butter? Is that just a Canadian thing, to get butter with pita? Here comes one star off. The pita bread was clearly from a bag. That I can forgive. The pita was not warmed up. That too I can forgive. But the pita was stale. 100% stale, breaking when you bent it or pulled it. That's a triple combo that could have easily been broken. One star down. The server said that today's special was lamb shank. This was a Wednesday, and the photo of the review mentioned the nice looking chicken stew dish. We asked if that was available - no luck, it was yesterday's lamb shank. Okay, fine, she'll have the chicken koobideh, since she's restricted due to medical reasons from most red meats. I went for the lamb shank. The meal came with soup or salad. I wanted the salad, my wife went for the soup. The salad was iceberg lettuce. That plus the specials mix-up? C'mon, man, we came here for the Wednesday special on a Wednesday. It was even on the menu in front of us. Together, .5 star off. Learn about romaine lettuce, people! The mains, though? BOOM. Dynamite. Amazing. 100% redeeming Persian cuisine, her chicken kebab was perfectly PERFECTLY juicy and seasoned to a point where it TASTED GREAT AS A CHICKEN DISH, not IN SPITE OF being a chicken dish. A nice herbacious almost saffrony flavor, perfectly seasoned. My lamb shank was stellar. The meat came right off the bone, and its braising liquid was this rich but semi-thin tomato gravy that was amazing on the dill lima bean rice with which it was served. Complementary tea came at the end. Good stuff. I'd definitely recommend Khorasan, but they do have to do something about the pita and the lettuce used in the salad. Go for the great food not the ambiance!! We came to this Iranian restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. Be warned that the restaurant does not have a liquor license nor does it have a BYOB license. A little disappointing but not a deal changer. There is a little terrace in the front of the restaurant which is ok but the inside of the restaurant looks like a cafeteria that has not been renovated in years. However there is only 30 chairs so not a big deal and it was obvious that people do not come for the ambiance. However, I would probably do take out next time. Upon sitting they brought us a plate of raw onions with herbs and some pita with butter. Very strange indeed. I have never had pita with butter in my life and maybe the onions are an Iranian thing so I do not want to judge. We ordered 2 tasting menus to share among both couples ($39 x 2). This gave us a soup each (very thick and tasty), each a large plate of basmati rice (not very flavourful). I have made better basmati rice at home. It also came with a large plate of mix grilled meats (cooked on charcoal!!). Each meat was succulent and delicious. There was BBQ chicken, 2 different kabobs (chicken and beef), and filet mignon. All the meats were juicy and delicious. I would return anytime for these great meats. We asked what they have for dessert and the server said they had none!?! No big deal we went for ice cream down the street. Overall the food was definitely delicious and had some flavours I have not tasted before. The service on the other hand was terrible. Our server (a young girl) basically answered our questions with either a blank stare or muttered one word answers. I understand that English or French was not her firsts language but she could barely communicate in either. She also lacked the basic server skills of presenting and clearing the table. Enough said. Excellent Iranian Cuisine :) Being lucky enough to have enjoyed fantastic Persian food cooked by my mom and dad,I have a very high standard for "good" Persian food. Ladies and Gents. this place is the place to go for great Iranian cuisine at an AMAZING price!!! I obviously have tried many Iranian restos, and the food is either not so great or when it is, the prices are a little too high. One thing to note about this place: First time I was taking my husband (boyfriend at the time) to try Iranian Cuisine, I did not pick this place. why? the place is not the most elegant of all by any means. However, if you don't mind a small but cozy place with Persian tv shows playing on the background, where you are served a plate of your choice with rice and soup or salad included in the price, then this is the place to go :) My recommendations: The Kabab Barg is excellent. Also, if you go there during the week (Tuesday to Friday) they have Special stew of the day. If you get there early enough, your taste buds will be thanking you for a while!! ;) Do call and reserve your serving if you are going later. One of our favorites in Canada. Not a place known for its ambience or for a romantic night out. But the food is at a different level whether it's eat-in or take out. Burg is amazing and chicken (boneless or on the bone) is flavorsome. We also tried their mixed grill and found the shish kebab to be desirable. Main distinction to make is that Persian food is not spicy but very flavorsome so our kids love it too and actually demand that we get food from Khurasan whenever we are in a conundrum. The big let down is that it is normally closed for summer vacations as well as winter vacations!! Go figure. I didn't realize they were somehow affiliated with and regulated by a school board!!! So if it's one of those days when you are craving for buttery rice with grilled tomato alongwith tender meat, and it happens to be a school holiday of some sort , you are in for a disappointing ending. Despite this major flaw, I hesitate to rate Khurasan anything but 5 stars. Khurasan - those scorching days and freezing nights when your team went missing were painful ....but hey everyone deserves a family break. read more

I tried two other persian resto's and loved this place. Forget about expensive decorations, this is about the food. Rice is important in persian cuisine (very important!!) that it tastes right! The meat was really good. The soup (ash) better than most places. The price LOWER than other places. The portion isn't skimpy, unlike others. The tea to finish was TASTY, well made! Got take out from Khorasan Kabab so can not comment on the restaurant decor. The barg and jooje kabab were delicious, juicy and very flavorful, the meat was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The rice was delicious as well, especially the dill rice that is served alongside the salmon. The ash soup was just ok, nothing special. I did not like the koobideh, both the chicken and beef versions were a little over powered by a strong meaty taste and lacked seasoning. read more

In respect to the old saying .... Don't judge a book by its cover.... From outside (and inside) of restaurant sadly doesn't look very... Appetizing due to faded colours and non existing to outdated decor. Won't order again though. Just as mentioned by previous yelpers... EXCELLENT, flavourful and super tender kebabs..... My personal favourite... Filet mignon... Simply BEST I've had in long long time. As Iranians, my family and I really liked this place, and the prices were very reasonable too (portions were great). The typical kabobs - chicken, beef koobideh, barg (steak) - were all good quality, soft, and tasty. They come with either soup or salad, but the soup is actually a nice bowl of aash (hearty soup with lentils and some other good ingredients), which surprised me considering aash usually is served as a separate appetizer that you have to order at most Iranian restaurants. Our waitress and the service were also good. The vibe of the place is casual, which was fine by us, and if you're new to Iranian food, it's very helpful that their menu has photos of every dish. read more
