Everything was delicious especially the salad and hummus. Lamb shank, bbq shrimp were also table favourites.

This is a 5 star review. Wonderful Syrian restaurant in the Mile-End which was on my list for so long and finally made it several times over the last 6 months. Everything is fresh, flavourful and well presented. We've basically order the classics: Fattoush, Hummus, Babaghanoush, kibbeh, mouhammara, kefta, lamb fatteh. It's an oasis of flavours to be shared either for 2 or in a group. I am huge fan of Damas but the beauty of this place is convenience of not having to reserve way ahead and the price point which is very affordable. Hoping my review is making you hungry and will inspire you to check this place out. Bon appétit! Staff is very kind.

This has got to be my go to spot for Lebanese dinner. There portions are excellent and great to share with friends. The service is always on point and the ambiance is great. I recommend making reservations on the weekend as they are very busy and have limited amount of space inside their restaurant. Prices vary anywhere between 20-40$ per plate . I recommend trying my favourites; hummus kawarma, raqaqat, fattouche,Dajaj mechoui, and the Kefta karaz.

Go go GO to Kaza Maza. If you're looking for a buzzy place with great food, you found it. Super fun atmosphere with affordable share plates. The service was a bit slow, but I can understand given the place was PACKED, with tables turning in minutes. It's pretty understated, so maybe not the spot if you're looking to wow a first date or charm a client- unless they're foodies. The vibe leaves were a perfect started- dense and acidic, going nicely with a light, crisp fattoush. I loved the mousaqa'a, so bright, cool, and savoury. The lamb chops were killer in terms of taste, but a little fatty. But also I'd order them again, so... Best bite goes to the garlic shrimp. Perfectly cooked, with a charred balance of bitter, sweet, and spicy. Maybe on the over-priced side, but the rest was so affordable I can get over it. I'd recommend this place for couples, small groups or double dates, and foodies looking for a sure thing. If you liked this, please follow my NEW TikTok review page- @nickeatseverything

Tried this place out and it was better than I thought! Adam and I didn't go for a full meal, we only wanted a consistent snack and that's exactly what we got here. We got some pita bread (they were out of naan), some hummus kawarma, labne, and mini potatoes. We got so much more than expected, the quantities are very generous. Everything was very good. Filling and tasty, I really enjoyed the hummus kawarma. It was the first time I tried that kind of hummus. The pita bread was very normal though so try to order the naan bread if you're looking to get some sauces and share. The potatoes were also pretty normal, not too seasoned so perfect to pair with the sauces but you get A LOT. Enough for 5 people honestly. They are also cut pretty thick. Service was quick (but we were the only people there) and seating is comfortable. It's also a medium sized restaurant. Overall really great. Will go back for dinner.

There is something about eating on a terrasse that definitely makes the experience more enjoyable. However, we believe it would have been excellent either way. Juicy, tender, well-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth meat, flavourful spices, great sauce all served in a tagine for an aesthetic accent on a lovely meal.

Found this spot on Yelp! We went there on a busy day without reservations. They were kind enough to accommodate us after a short wait at the bar. The servers are friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering the Fattet Dajaj which is Pulled chicken and rice. And three dips to share with Pita Bread. The taste of the food and quality of ingredients is excellent. The restaurant has a nice warm ambiance and feel good vibe! We were pleasantly surprised by our experience and will definitely be coming by again.

This was the first restaurant I tried on my first trip to Montreal. The staff members were so helpful and what they suggested was absolute divine. We were the first couple in the restaurant so we got a choice of seats. We were given warm pita bread and olives immediately which was what we needed on the very cold day we arrived in Montreal. We asked our waiter what he suggested since we'd just arrived and was in search for something warm and filling. Our waiter suggested we try a dish called Fattet Mawzat. The Fattet Mawzat is a warm dish containing lamb, eggplant, pine nuts, tomato sauce, and mind blowing spices. I don't know what it is but I love pine nuts in my food. They are just so flavorful. We tried the Labneh and the grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was very juicy and grilled. The setting was very romantic (low lights and candles). It was the perfect way to welcome us to Montreal. I expected to eat only French cuisine while on my mini vacation but I would have never thought my first meal in this French city would be Middle Eastern and I loved every bite. Oh and we also tried some amazing beer named Boréale Rousse. Oh my goodness. This beer was red (yes I said the beer was red -- and no it's not like when we drink green beer for St. Patty's Day). This beer was mind blowing because of the caramel taste! This beer actually paired well with the warm dishes. I will also add that the food was not spicy. Many people think middle eastern food tends to be spicy. The dishes we tried were not at all. I will definitely return here if we go back to Montreal.

Hi i was in Montreal for Presidents' Day Weekend with my son his wife and my mother and we decided to go try Kazamaza based on all the great reviews. We walked in on Saturday and there were no reservations available so we left and booked reservations for the following day . The following day we go in anticipating this wonderful experience first it takes them 20 min to seat us . We order most of the salads and appetizers and they were delicious from the tabouli to the hummus you the kibbe and the fattoush . So we decided to order the kofta with no sauce and the lamb chops that ate sold individually we ordered 10 and the shrimp with got exceptional reviews. It took a bit of time but we were patiently waiting in anticipation of a delicious ending to our meal . Well what we got to our shock and horror was a bowl of charred ground beef that was topped with tomato and some other things to cover it , the meat was so charred and dry , it was falling apart like rubble at the touch. Even worse was the 2 plates of lamb chops that were completely charred to a crisp ,totally un edible. When we called them over they took back the kofta and offered to remake we refused and they take that off the bill but totally refuse to remove the burned lamb chops that were not eaten . They made us pay and they were individually charged at $7 a piece . Very Rude never experienced anything like this and we are from New York !

The food is Lebanese and the ambiance is cool. We have been here couple of times and we always order the same, the lamb with yogourt and the cherry kebab! The tabula and fattosh salads are tasty! The food always takes a lot to arrive based on our multiple experiences but look into it in a positive way as they are making everything fresh :)

One of my favorite meals I've had in Montreal! We ate outside during sunset on their patio, splitting a bottle of wine and stuffing ourselves silly with hummus, baba ganoush, shaved filet mignon, grape leaves and lamb. The Greek wine we ordered on a whim was incredible, complimenting every dish perfectly. Every single dish we ordered was put together with such care and interesting little details, like pomegranate seeds on the baba ganoush. Highlight was the lamb shank, which was tender and spiced to perfection. Can't wait to return to Montreal so I can make my way back here.

Upon entering the restaurant, I'm instantly reminded of the late nights waiting at a halal cart in nyc after a night out. This restaurant itself is not the cleanest and rather chaotic on weekend nights. Theres usually a long line to order, but it moves rather quickly and efficiently. The staff members aren't the friendliest, but they get the job done LOL. You'll find a bunch of hungry and probably drunk people sitting at the cafeteria styled seats at night. The food is the main selling point here though. I've gotten the mixed platter and shawarma platter; both with generous servings of protein all doused in a flavorful sauce. Ordered the poutine recently and was also impressed how much they loaded the protein. It was a little on the saltier side and wished they had more cheese curds, but still pretty enjoyable. The fries were also more like small potato wedges. I've recommended this place countless times for almost any point of the day, but they especially hit the spot after a long night.

The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

I would say maybe I had overly high expectations for this place from all the reviews ( on Google)…read morethat I feel a bit disappointed. But don't get me wrong , the food tasted good. So here is some good and not-so-good points; - taste of the food is good - food quality similar to some other Syrian/Palestinian places I have tried (nothing exceptionally great , nor bad) - portion size of the main dishes is on the small size - they served us dishes that we didn't order, as we were wondering which dish is which, they came and took them all back with little explanation - they served each of us welcome drink (lentil soup), after-meal sweet tea , and offered us rose water for our hands after, which was nice

The Short Version: Cozy middle eastern restaurant. With…read morelots of different dishes from the Middle East. Food was delicious. The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here and it was fantastic. We both got the bowl option ($14.99), where you got to choose a base, a vegetable, a protein, and a starter. I had read online that for the base you could actually get half and half of two different options. So I opted for this to try different things. So for my base I got the half bulgur and half Mujaddara (which is lentils and rice), for my protein I got the Musakhan chicken, and for my vegetable I had chosen the spinach but somehow ended up with the Awarma (ground beef) instead. And for my starter I got the fattoush. The bulgur was delicious. It was tender and flavourful. The Mujaddara was also great. The rice was fluffy and the lentils were not too hard, but not too mushy. The Musakhan chicken was so good. It was my first time having a Palestinian dish. I loved that it was cubes of breast meat and very lean, yet tender and moist. It had warm spices to it like sumac and allspice. Like I mentioned, for my vegetable I chose the spinach, but somehow I ended up with ground beef. It tasted good and I'm always up for more protein, so I didn't complain, lol. Awarma is Lebanese dish. The ground beef did taste a little too fatty for my liking, but the flavor was good. The fattouch, which is also a Lebanese dish, was very good. It was romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and crispy pita chips. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl. My husband got a different combination of items in his bowl. He got the bulgur, Syrian chicken, mixed vegetables, and hummus. I had a taste of the Syrian chicken and it was good. It had a lemony taste to it and also came with potatoes. I didn't try any of the mixed vegetables but it looked like green beans and carrots in a tomato based sauce. My husband really liked his bowl too. We both got a few arils of pomegranate sprinkled on top, some toasted slivered almonds, and a slice of lime with our bowls. Not sure if this is the garnish on all bowls or not. I enjoyed the crunch of the almonds and the tangy burst that the pomegranate provided. My husband thought the lime was a slice of zucchini and bit into it to discover it was a slice of lime, lol. I knew it was a piece of lime so I just put mine to the side, lol. Oh before our meal we got some complimentary pita chips and a sample of their lentil soup. The pita chips are the same as what was on my fattoush. They were nice and crunchy but a little oily for my taste. The lentil soup was okay but way too salty for my taste. I appreciated being able to try these items for free though. Service was courteous and efficient. The restaurant is small and cozy and nicely decorated. It is in a basement unit so down a steep flight of stairs. We were so full after our meals but they had some very interesting looking desserts. They had desserts that looks like a bird's nest and also some delicious looking Turkish delight. I will need to try them on another visit. Street parking only. Review #15 (2026)
