    Couscous with chicken. Nasty!

From a Moroccan, the food here is anything but Moroccan! Had couscous and tagine and neither was remotely up to par. Overpriced and Tasteless is best I can describe it!

Friends night out. They found this Mediterranean restaurant to try out. Some friends came by before. For two person to share. The portion is very huge Royal Couscous. I would say it's even good for 3~4 people. The appetizer was average. The good nothing is they allow you to bring your own wine. Which make the event better. The place is not that big but they still can take some reservations for a small group. The lamb was nicely done. The meat is very tender. The chicken breast is a bit dry. It could be better. I've tried many merqueeze elsewhere. Here is average. I'd say between 3 half to 4 stars is a good rating

    Lamb tagine/ tagine agneau

I ordered a lamb tagine on Ubereat. I've never had such a tagine in my life before! This sucked! It tasted too salty. And very little meat!!! I was expected at least a good chunk of meat but nothing more than a few very small pieces of meat! The worst tagine I ever had in my life I'd say. The delivery was slow btw. I was expecting that with an extreme empty stomach, the food would have tasted even better than it was but this didn't happen!

Decided to try something new and different and came here. Unfortunately we didn't know this place had BYOW and doesn't serve any alcohol so we missed out. The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels cozy but the space is very tight. Service was rude. We were a party of 5 and as this was our first time trying North African cuisine. We asked our waiter for popular options and she just pointed to the entire section of the menu. Ummmm I can read myself. We got an assortment of appetizers but nothing stood out. For my main I ended up getting the grilled kebab couscous. It was a huge portion but tasted like steamed vegetables. When the bill came, it was in French so we took a while to read through it but our waitress barged in claiming she didn't overcharge us. Not a fun experience and I most definitely won't revisit or recommend. Service: 1/5 Presentation: 4/5 Taste: 2/5 Price: 2/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: 2/5

I'm so sorry to share this bad looking pictures with the world but I have to .nothing taste good no flavor ,no good combinations ,no good presentation ,it's same like the chef doesn't like his job or like somebody putting gun on his head to make the food and customer service not great except the music was ok

I invited my family for dinner here. We ordered a variety of couscous, tajines and grilled plates and all was excellent. We ordered the chicken skewers, the kefta skewers, the lamb Tajine, the chicken Tajine and the couscous lamb. Very warm ambiance and staff is very professional and friendly. They took care of our group and service was always attentive.

It was my first time trying Moroccan food and since it was halal, I was excited to try it out. I got slightly disappointed by their food. It wasn't that great but at least I got to try tajine. However, I liked the ambience. We actually had a great time there. We chose their group menu, so got to try a lot of their dishes. You can bring your own wine or if you don't drink alcohol, then you can bring sparkling juice like I did lol You can read my full review along with pictures on my blog: http://arzanrestos.blogspot.ca/2014/03/menthe-et-couscous.html

The Royal Couscous platter. Normally comes with more lamb, but my friend doesn't eat lamb, so we subbed for more chicken and merguez.

We followed that up with the batata harra, which were spicy, acidic, crispy little morsels of perfection. The Long Version: My husband and I were chilling in our hotel when my husband had a hankering for some shawarma. He didn't want to go too far, and I encouraged him to try a new-to-us place, lol. So a quick search led him to Shawarmaz. Shawarmaz is a Canadian company that started 2013 in Montreal. It has several locations but they are all in the Greater Montreal Area. My husband got the beef shawarma in a pita $9.79. They have the option of getting your shawarma in Saj bread or a baguette and those options are more expensive. He got lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turnips and onions. For his sauces he got hummus, spicy garlic and chipotle. He enjoyed the shawarma. I had a bite so I could review it (I also went with him so I could see the restaurant and take pictures) haha. I thought it was pretty good. They give you a decent amount of protein. And the beef was flavourful and not gristly. I was surprised that the wrap was not too spicy considering the sauces he chose. The decor is fast food restaurant-like. Service was good but it did take a while for the food, although it's likely because there was a pretty long line up. Review #205 (2025)

We were seated at a lovely table for two by a window. The service at first was a bit slow, but that was understandable given how busy the restaurant was. Our server, Yan, was incredibly personable. He had excellent suggestions for dinner. We each started with cocktails, and enjoyed the ambiance. There was a live band, but we were in a different room. It wasn't loud like you would expect. 5/5 service. Beef Tartare: 5/5. This was an excellent start. The appetizer sizing was a little small for two people. If you want a little more, I'd recommend the entree size. It comes with fries. But it was delicious. The crostini's that came with it were a little overpowering, but the tartare itself was delicious. Duck Confit: 5/5. This duck was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly cooked, crispy skin, tender and juicy flavor. An incredible sauce. Delicious veggies and potatoes. The only thing I did not like about this dish was how quickly we ate it! Dessert (not pictured): 5/5. We had a chocolate pyramid with hazelnuts and chocolate mousse. Delicious. I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.
