We were a family of four and sat near the window. It's true there's no AC, but with the windows open, it isn't so bad. The cushioned benches and colorful quilted ceiling along with the Moroccan lanterns really evoke the feeling of being transported to North and Western Africa. And I have traveled and eaten my way across Morocco. The chef here is from Mauritania, and the cuisine is similar to that of Morocco's. It's a pre-fixe menu, and we were given lentil soup with pita bread, hummus, and a platter filled with stewed beef & dates, chicken and green olives, and chickpeas all over couscous. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, and everything tasted delicious. The lentil soup, by the way, was the tastiest lentil soup I have ever had. I could do that, pita, and a salad and be satisfied. We finished with a pot of Moroccan mint tea, where our server poured the first round from way up high as they do in Morocco, surrounding countries, and the Middle East. He did great without spilling lol. Service was excellent. Our server was the only one working the dining room, and he did a great job attending to everyone's needs, including those of other diners around us. He had a sense of humor and was very generous when he asked if anyone wanted more food and tea. If you're looking to dine on Northwestern African food and enjoy a unique ambiance, this is a wonderful spot. It's perfect for dates and groups. Enjoy and expect to be wow'ed.

We were 4, so we just got the "mixed" couscous service ($30 apiece) , which is all three of their dishes- Beef couscous with dates, Chicken and olives, and vegetables. All were marvelous, though the beef & dates has my heart. Highly recommend going if you're in Fairmount. Next time we're up in Montreal again, I'll pay another visit for sure.

But they missed their mark for speed and service (crucial for workday lunch), by a mile. We arrived at 11:45, ordered swiftly and was very clear that some of us needed to leave in an hour due to meetings scheduled. At 12:45 We we were still waiting for our dishes - three burgers and two fish of the day. During the entire lunch period, there were only two tables being served: a table of 2 and our table of 5. When we inquired, the only thing our waitress said to us was: food is coming and sorry but there's not much I can do. Don't think I'll ever come back for lunch on a weekday...

Brightly decorated with Moroccan lanterns and lush tapestry pillows, with mellowed out music in the background- made me feel as if I was in Marrakesh. Seating was spacious housing easily 40+ ppl sided with a stylish bar. There is a small terasse in the back with around 10 tables beautifully dressed in white linens. I enjoyed the presentation of the menu - listing a choice of cocktails, bar bites, salad, risotto and main dishes ranging between -12 to 40$ per dish. There is a 5 appetizer sampler dish for 18$ / person that allows you to try an array of their salads. I decided to order a cocktail Dec with cardamom syrup, fig based, bourbon- I was on cloud 9 - so original. The beef tartar was beautifully presented- had a little kick to it -served with homemade chips and fragrant salad. I also ordered the couscous risotto that was quite appetizing and not too heavy. The portions were great. Chef Dan Medalsy and his team were divine, highly commended service. I look forward to coming back and trying more Morrocan delights!

We were actually looking for sushi however the only sushi offering was all vegan & vegetarian. We wanted some animal protein. Au Tarot menu on Foodora.ca was a bit confusing so we had to make a call into Au Tarot. The first person we reached, gave a number to call as he didn't have the answer to a simple question of the menu. The other number we called, the question seemed to stump him also. Finally we spoke with someone who was able to answer the simple question on their menu's pricing layout. Once we finally placed our order (note: if you have a coupon, their is a section to enter it after you create your account & enter in your credit card information) we were keep up to date via text message: 1st text: your order has been received and is up for preparation. 2nd text: your order is being made 3rd text: [driver's name] is picking up your order 4th text: your order is on the way 5th text: your order has arrived This entire process was about 28 minutes after the submit button was pressed. As for the food... We both ordered a Tajine w/ couscous. For protein she ordered the veal and I the chicken. The portion was large enough for us to share the protein and still have some for left over. So for $22/Tajine, we did get plenty off food. I really enjoyed the veal. The meat was very juicy and the raisins added to the couscous made for a nicely added sweetness. Other than the "not so friendly" user experience of the Foodora.ca website/menus; the dining in experience was great!

Though my review is only about the quality of the food, I just want to say, the service here is warm and attentive. The menu is in three section a salad section to which you can make into a table d'hôte for 5$. Then there's the plats favoris section which is a table d'hôte section with various choices. Come with either soup, or salad, or entree and dessert. It's 25$, what? How is this possible! The last section meats table d'hôte, 45$. Has filet mignon, lamb shank, lamb chops and veal. We ordered from the plats favoris for 25$ The entrée was mushroom puff pasty, it was flaky, mushroom was creamy but not too rich, well balanced mushroom to pastry ratio. For this to be part of a table d'hôte impressed me. Next I chose the butternut squash ravioli in rosée sauce. Ravioli cooked just right, filling was nice and sauce well balanced. I had the mascarpone with raspberry jam dessert. Light sweet and tangy, nothing fancy but nice. All this for 25$? See you next week?

Unfortunately, my wife and I live in Colorado, although I am convinced that my family members will pay a visit to the owners for a 5-star experience at a very affordable cost. I wish them a full restaurant on all the 4 nights they are open. A must try and you will definitely make it one of your favorite.
