There is a bathroom in the lobby which is also very convenient. I like the rooms where work is getting done. They always have calming music. Not elevator music. Music from the 60's, the songs from the movie Dirty Dancing for example. They give you headphones to listen to good music if you are getting something done that is uncomfortable. I see some reviews that say they are all about upselling. I think looking into what is covered by insurance helps people. I never look that stuff up so I find that helpful. I don't see anything wrong with a doctor doing the research to see what is covered for a patient. There is a sign at the front that says "only good vibes". I have only felt good vibes from going there and it is the dentist. Nobody ever wants to go to the dentist but I don't mind it with these lovely people. Dr. Skinner has done several procedures for me and it was always a pleasant experience. She is very thorough with my cleanings. She asked me if I wanted numbing spray on my gums. I said, "yes anything to make it less painful!" She always tells me when it may be sensitive and she works really hard to get all the tarter off since sometimes I wait too long for cleanings. I like this place. I like it a lot! I even bought a discounted whitening system from them a while back and it worked great! It is not fancy but neither am I. I felt right at home. Read less

That never happened as the office staff would not accept my last xray, which they asked me to bring. Instead they wanted to cancel my appointment and charge me $25 if I did not get the xrays. When I asked about the consultation, I was told that could only happen after the xrays are taken. It was pretty obvious that this office & dentist are interested in money rather than customer service. As this was my first visit, it was obvious to me that the negative reviews were warranted. I got up from the chair and said, I did not cancel my appointment, you did. I am not paying a cancelation fee and I'm leaving. When you see it, believe it.

A few other dentists told me that I wouldn't be able to fix my teeth with Invisalign because my canine teeth were so bad. But Dr. Javdan was confident that he could help me, and he was absolutely right! My teeth were pretty stubborn, but he kept working with me and helped me get the smile I always wanted. I used to hide my teeth when I smiled, but now I can proudly show my smile! He also saved one of my teeth without me having to go through a root canal. When I needed bonding to protect my tooth from future damage, he did it so quickly and did an amazing job. You might find a cheaper dentist and think you're saving money, but honestly, in the long run, I think Dr. Javdan will save your teeth and save you money from having to deal with bigger problems later. I highly, highly recommend him! I'm so happy I found him and I'm very grateful for everything he has done for my teeth.

I used to go to a place in Culver City, but Smile…read moreAngels is in-network for me, so I did some research a few years ago and tried this place out. I'm glad I found them, moving to LA meant finding new doctors all over again... that process is just too much work. But once you're lucky enough to get settled in with a good office, you're golden! (I still can't find a good Primary Doctor, and had a nightmare experience with UCLA Health, that's a different story!) Dr. Vafa is extremely warm and caring. I once asked for Botox for TMJ. I told him I have someone who injects to help relax the muscle to help with clenching and my bite shifting to one side, but my injector wasn't available. This was when I first met Dr Vafa. Dr Vafa educated me on the dangers of getting too much Botox in the jaw as the first line of defense (bandaid) for a much larger issue. He said he'd do it, only one time, but that he won't do it again. I already knew that I needed to address the bigger issue (and we are doing that now, I delayed it for 10+ years). Dr. Vafa also shared best practices for me to do at home to help my muscle tension... and he asked me to commit to it, in order to help. This shows me he cares and doesn't care about taking my money, he'd rather educate me so I make the right decisions for my body, treat the real root problem, and not ruin my muscles just to "put a bandaid" on symptoms. The person who cleans my teeth, forgot her name, she's actually super gentle, I make sure I tell her. I asked her to not use the machine to clean, it was painful and my mouth is sensitive, and she respected my fear of pain and manually cleaned to accommodate. I really appreciated that. The only downside I have is that I need to pay for parking. I hate paying for parking... they share a free (or cheap) parking lot option with me but... I really don't want to walk. I tried to park in the street once, I got a ticket once for misreading the signs. I guess $12 parking is better than a ticket. This is LA. And yes!! I obviously like these guys enough to pay for parking, and drive to Beverly Hills... I truly believe that paying for parking two or three times a year for cleaning and treatment is worth it, since they do a great job. Again, it's hard to find a good dental office and dentist. The doctor has good bedside manners. I usually have a thousand questions, he educates me, answers my questions, he never makes me feel rushed.

Then they re-submitted it with 4 new procedure codes that I never signed for and the amount was magically $1220. I am sure I am not the first patient of theirs nor the last who is a victim of their coding game.
