As an insurance agent, I get asked by our clients on a lot where they should bring their car after an accident. I always mention Abra Chanhassen because I know they can expect quality repairs at a reasonable rate. This week, I had a fender-bender myself so took my car in. Butch, Amy, and the crew over there were able to get my car looking great again, and quickly. Next time your car needs repairs, take it here! read more

This company is BAD, do not use them. They use rebuild or aftermarket parts. When I got my car back it rattled, it never rattled before hand. The headlight didn't fit properly and always had moisture because of not having a tight seal, they just told be "to bad" and said this relationship is over with and hung up the phone. Bad unethical people are working here, they do terrible work. Do yourself a favor and work with someone else. Terrible company, terrible customer service, terrible work! Run! read more

They quoted 10 business days to fix my car (14 days including weekends when they are closed). It took 35 days to get my car fixed. They knew I only had 30 days of rental car coverage. They called me on a Friday 90 minutes before closing at 5:30pm and said my car was ready. I couldn't get it on Friday and they made me pay the car rental costs for the weekend they were closed. Awful service from an awful business with questionable employees. The change in my car center council was gone afterwards ("it must have gotten swept up while we cleaned it"). Just the icing on a carrot cake I didn't order... Pictured is how my car was returned to me after sitting outside over the weekend. Do yourself and your car a real service and take it somewhere else. read more

I had a minor fender bender and needed to pay for the repairs for the other person. They chose ABRA of Chanhassen. I had the quote printed and ready for payment. I wanted to pay cash as the invoice was under $2,000.00 Additionally, they quoted repairs to be completed in a week and I also asked her for a quote estimate to repair my vehicle. I wrote a check and the receptionist asked for my drivers license - no problem. Then she says, "This is an out of state drivers license. I can't take a check." I let her know that the bank account is a local usbank account and she could just call and verify funds and I'm happy to provide my local Mpls address. The idea of a person owning two homes in different states completely eluded her. She then proceeded to call her boss and he said, "No, that can't happen." She then said, "Sorry, we've had two bad checks this week from out of state." Okay.....Again, the only thing out of state is my DL....I told her that seemed rather ignorant as now I'm going to pay you with an American Express Credit Card which is going to charge you 3% for the transaction fee PLUS now you've proven to me your inability to problem solve. So, now you've shown your ignorance and also lost my business; I need my Minnesota vehicle repaired from the same accident which would have been an additional $2,000. Alas...simple math eluded the simpleton! read more

In my experience I wouldn't trust abra Chanhassen with auto body work, especially if you are in the pipeline of referrals from an insurance company. Horrible and dishonest customer service. My car was impacted heavily while stopped at a stoplight. I was referred to abra by the drivers insurance company. Abra was selected and repaired the vehicle. However there were lingering electrical problems with the vehicle very near the point of impact on the back end. When I phoned the abra csr Ryan said that the damage to the vehicle was not caused by abra because they did not do any work on that part of the vehicle . It might have been caused by the accident and advised me that he would call the other drivers insurance company and that they would contact me. In a short time I received a phone call from the insurance company. I agreed with the insurance company to schedule a diagnostic check with abra to confirm that the damage was caused by the accident. However, when I reached Ryan the second time he had already been contacted by the insurance company and changed his story completely. He stated that he was "pissed" that I informed the insurance company that abra said the problem "could have" been caused by the accident. Apparently Ryan's inconclusive statement drew some immediate negative coaching from the insurance company. And when I questioned Ryan regarding the extent of the damage checkup when the car was originally brought in, he then claimed that they did check the car for the specific problem and it was working fine. If Ryan had information that the problem was not caused by the accident why did he call the Other drivers insurance company just a couple hours earlier? read more

Extremely disappointed with quotation aspect. My wife received an initial estimate and once Abra started the repairs, they found an additional $400. we agreed to the changes and thought great, let's move forward. We were then sent an invoice for an additional $600 without a call or anything. My spouse followed up and was told that they quoted the wrong bumper??? Butch explained to my wife that she didn't even know the year and the model of the car. Huh? Butch you looked at the car and damage and made a mistake, own it. He also said the abra's software is out dated. Huh? Don't take ownership Abra!?!? Then Butch says that he wasn't trying to scam anyone and their margins are really low, thanks for sharing. Needless to say when I asked Butch to put my car together and I will take it elsewhere. Butch thought we were unreasonable. read more

I normally don't write reviews for service but Chanhassen Abra deserves a shout out. I stopped by for an estimate to have a large scratch on the rear bumper of my car repaired. A piece of trim had come off too. I was immediately greeted by three nice guys, well dressed and friendly, in a very pleasant office/reception area. My past experiences in auto body service centers have not been nearly as inviting. Butch took a look at my car, said they could paint it but he said if you have a minute, I will try buffing it out for you. About 15 minutes later my bumper looked great, the scratch barely visible and he reattached my trim piece too!! Great service!!! Thanks so much!!! read more

I was in an accident. The vehicle was taken to the West saint paul shop to Chanhassen to be repaired. I have yet to examine the vehicle. I wanted to let you know about the incredibly rude and unprofessional conduct of a particular person, a woman named Amy. At first she was lovely. But, when questions arose about my car repairs she snapped at me. Several times this occurred. She was fine as long as I didn't ask any questions about my service. She didn't acknowledge my concerns. I told my adjuster about this and she called to ensure work was being done as approved. When asked about this said work Amy rudely brushed off my concerns. To be continued after inspection... read more

We just had the front windshield replaced on our minivan and it was done very poorly! We are not working to get it fixed and I will likely have to get my insurance involved in the correction. I would NOT RECOMMEND this location. It's important you're working with expert installers...don't make our same mistake. read more

My mother and I are having very terrible and disappointed experience at this place. Her car was crashed at the end of last year, bought her car to fix at this shop. The shop did a quick job at repair the damage. After 2 days, they call us to pick up the car. Before we gave the check to pay for the fixing, we reviewed the car. There was some spots still damaged and did not fully repair. They repaired it again for 2 more days. We paid for it and got the car. Unfortunately, two months ago, the paint of the fixing came off. My mom know in her heart that she did not hit any where. By looking at it, you can just tell that the paint went off by itself. I called the shop to talk about the lifetime warranty painting that they stated according to the previous service, but their receptionist stated that she cannot find my mother's car record. Luckily, we still kept the report, receipt and warranty paper. After, we came to the shop, and the guy worked there found another reason that she either hit somewhere, the wheel has been coming off as well. But no, for sure, her car did not hit anywhere, and the wheels are designed that way. They told us to talk to Ryan, which is the customer service manager over there. We had to come back the second time to talk to Ryan. Meeting Ryan, the guy was very rude, again stated the reason that we hit somewhere instead of the paint came off by poor painting from their shop. He even hit and drag the painting to make the spot even worse, and told me to contact our insurance. My best advice, don't ever come to this shop unless you want poor fixing experience, and never believe of the lifetime warranty, they just make it sounds good but it is an empty promise which they will find reasons after reasons of not be responsible for it, if you find out something broken later. Ryan damaged our car instead of helping. In my thought, we really regret of bringing this car to fix at this shop, and Ryan treated his customer poorly and disrespectful. Thank you for your service if you ever read this, Abra in Chanhassen, MN. read more

The person I met with was so condescending and uneducated about the estimate process- I left right away and went to another auto body repair shop. I will never go back or recommend Abra to anyone. read more
