Highly recommend school for barbering the teachers and staff are always welcoming and helpful. I've completed my apprentice program and I feel confident on my journey forward to my next step of taking the state board exam. The classes were helpful in breaking down the study of barbering and going over everything we learned to ensure we understood what we've studied. Most of the reviews are from 2-5 yea ago and the school asks for a good review in exchange for a discount on tuition or a discount on the many processing fees have , i will say if ur thinking about going here . Rethink that thought and go take a look at the most recent reviews on google maps. Shady and the way they conduct business makes me regret coming here . They changed staff like two times i was there and the service just got worse and worse. They take forever to get back to you and should i mention they are only open 3 days a week for 3-4 hrs a day and your thinking who cares. When ur trying to figure out why ur late logs fee went from 5$ to 20$ and suddenly u have a $300 fee to pay ontop of other stuff at the school then youll care . One might say well u should stay on top of this , welllll they choose not email or sms or calling me to inform but said u didnt download our third party app therefore its ur fault for not being informed , when they decided to not use the most popular form of communication and relied on human nature and habits in hopes you wouldn't notice scummy buissness practices. Not only that i had to make several appoints after finishing school to make my barber exam appointment because they choose to work 3-4 hrs a day for only 3 days a week and say its your fault for not getting into contact with them . If your still trying to grasp what kinda buissness this place is after receiving my $261 late fee i asked for invoice that detailed where the $261 came from so i can show my other classmate and I WAS INDIRECTLY TOLD TO KICK ROCKS as they stopped awnsering . Most likely in hopes of saving face . Not to mention they made me drive 2 hrs for a pdf printout they coulda emailed to me but insisted i come get in person . This particular instance was very common . Not to mention i asked around other school and students saying they got their test date same day I will say Adan the barber teach was a real one but they hired some other teacher for a day and he blabbered for the remainder of the class about how he went to a massage parlor and paid for a sex worker and talked about it in a nonchalant way as if he was trying to convince us the idea of paying for a sex worker isnt sad or shouldnt be veiwed so negatively. If that doesnt speak volumes about what kinda school this is then idk. read more

A great experience! Thank you for all the positive support from Rolando, Sam, Rachel, Adan, & Edismoz. I truly appreciate the amount of effort that was provided, considering I was enrolled in school during the pandemic. The school kept communication & continued classes via zoom. In person class was a great learning environment. My advice if enrolling: Do all homework assignments, keep up with the logs monthly, Flash cards & don't miss class. I have finally completed my hours as an apprentice at ATR. It took me longer than expected (Bcus of me) highly recommend you don't miss class! Lol overall as I mentioned before the school is great! Great instructors, staff is helpful and Samantha, the director, really helps you in all ways possible. Like all schooling it's a rollercoaster of emotions, sacrifices, and dedication that all need to be put together in order to accomplish what you start. I have learned so much from when I first started this program, the whole staff really go above and beyond for you. It's not just sitting in class for 4 hours and make time pass by, they actually want you succeed in our industry by teaching what we need to know in order to obtain your license. The teachers there aren't the only instructors either, the school also brings other resources as well like having seminars by some of the best educators and top brands in the industry. I heard about this school from my barber who is currently letting me apprentice at his shop. I have been attending this school for about 2 months and I love it. The teachers are good people and the students are pretty cool as well very friendly and helpful. I am just learning and I was super intimidated at first but how cool everyone is surely made me feel comfortable. This school is also better then regular school I think because once u have ur apprentice license u can start building ur clientel. If u have a job as well that's also a good thing cuts this school is only one day a week I don't have any complains here nothing but good people and good times read more
