As a self taught makeup artist, I took this course to be able to learn the ins and outs as a makeup…read moreartist. I wanted to learn the business AND other things I never really learned on my own. TAKE THIS COURSE! Even if you already know makeup, you will surely learn more as you go through all of the mini masterclasses and learning from Ale & Hector! It's been a blast and I loved everyone I got to work with during the course!

I am giving this place 3 out of 5 stars One star because the…read moreplace was clean and organized and set up well with proper stations and seats etc. Another star because I like that there is a store at the front and the front staff is great. The other Star because I appreciate the owner is an actual talented makeup artist and has over 20 years of experience. I can't give a full five stars because the program was set up really weird. I understood it was a Sunday class (great sounds convenient) It was like 5 consecutive weeks in a row with a two week break in between but each class I understood was Sundays from 8:30am to 5pm or 9 to 6 (or something to that affect with an hour lunch) BUT literally I DID NOT get out of there until after 10 PM sometimes midnight, not only did this inconvenience my whole family (and I have little kids that are in elementary school) it threw off our whole week. I might add, being in a class for that long as a student ...I wasn't even retaining any of the information after hour six. I don't think this type of learning is beneficial for anybody (in my opinion). I think the classes should be broken up and spread out and maybe no more than six hours per class. It would be even great to do like a four hour class. After that all the information I learned I did not retain, unfortunately. And if you try to leave early, they made it feel like a big deal and it was frowned upon. It was a stressful bummer. Other than that, I think it was a great program. I like the products that they used that I bought from them When I signed up, I understood the cost of the program was one price and then the kit was an extra thousand, but it was "optional"...BUT when you get there, it's very obvious that you have to use the products that they have you buy from them. I saw one girl bring her kit, but she wasn't using it. They asked her to buy their kit and use that one. We had to use all the makeup that they provided which was great Makeup. (when you buy the kit, it comes together you don't have to purchase anything individually, which I thought was great). BUT if you're on a budget, this is probably not the program for you. My total investment was around $4500. I attended in Aug 2024. I like that at the end we got a certificate and they had a little graduation that was really fun. Also a few times they bought us pizza or burritos which was nice and unexpected. I appreciated that as well.

If you want to get a cut at any barbering school, I'd recommend that you call first to check…read morewhether they actually have open hours. It really depends on student availability. Went on a Friday morning in April and got a wolf cut, by Lilliana. Instructor came over at multiple times and would demonstrate on one side of my head so she could practice with the other. On the phone they said it'd take "30-40 min" but I think that's only if you're doing something simple. She had to learn the whole style, so it took maybe 1.5-2 hours. Was fine with me though. Students have specific weekdays they work (usually about 3 out of the 5), so if you like one you can try and become their regular while they're learning there. I've had long-time professionals who are unable to comprehend giving butch/masculine haircuts to people like me. Here, when I asked for changes at the end, the student and the instructor spent the time to get it closer to what I wanted. They didn't care whether I was queer or not, they just wanted to teach and learn how to make a good cut.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went in for a trim and the instructor, Jose basically told me…read moreto shut up and sit down and let him cut off how ever much HE wanted, not how much I wanted, despite it LITERALLY being MY hair. My mom wanted to just watch from the side while cutting as well and he told her to leave and go to the other side so we can't say anything to him and immediately yelling at us to leave the salon. He was basically fighting with the wall because me and my mom both did not say anything to him and were just explaining how much we wanted off and the style we were going for. Disappointing expierence.
