I don't often take the time to write reviews, but when you encounter truly exceptional service it deserves to be recognized. This is the case with Above & Beyond Moving.This is the second move Pat and his crew did form us and they continue to impress me. Above & Beyond's slogan is "We save you time and money." This is absolutely the case. They save you time not just with a reasonable hourly rate, but because they are hard working guys who don't stop moving. When you hire people by the hour you risk working with feet draggers who cost you more money. Pat and his partner Q were constantly working hard and almost never stopped moving. They hustle. They only time they stopped was a few brief minutes to eat some lunch I brought them. They saved me money multiple ways. First, by working hard and carefully. Everything was padded and wrapped before being loaded. Second, I had intended to rent a portable storage unit. This would have been a drastic and costly mistake as there is no way it would have held all my belongings. I would have ended up with multiple storage units had Pat not advised me. The container company estimated one container for a three to four bedroom house. I think its more like 3 to 4 containers for a three to four bedroom house! Third, my belongings barely fit into the large storage space I ended up renting. Instead of just casually loading the unit and passing the problem on to me, Pat and Q carefully packed the unit tight and got all my stuff to fit without damaging anything. This saved me from renting the second storage unit. Over time that is a huge savings. I can't recommend Above & Beyond Moving more. If you are looking for movers you can stop right here. These are they guys you want to hire. I will use them again to empty my storage unit, and whenever I need movers. Thanks for the hard work Pat and Q! One more note regardless of who moves you, even if you do it yourself. This especially applies if you need to store your belongings. You have WAY MORE stuff than you think you do. Way more. I am by no means a minimalist, but I felt I did a very good job of purging unneeded furniture and other items, and generally downsizing. I still needed much more space than anticipated, it took more time than I thought it would, and there was a lot more stuff than I thought there was. When you see it all in one spot, it hits you. DO NOT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY! PAT WAS DRUNK ON THE JOB AND HE DESTROYED MY PROPERTY!!!! PAT IS A HUSTLER AND CON ARTIST FROM NY! DO NOT HIGHER THIS MOVING COMPANY! THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS!!!! The truck used to move me was too large so my furniture apparently moved around during the drive and got extremely damaged. PAT IS ALSO A BIGOT WHO MADE DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT THE CURRENT PROTESTING THAT'S GOING ON!!!!!! Pat and Blue moved me this past Saturday. They wrapped ALL of my furniture and said they would take very good care of my things. However, my dresser was damaged tremendously and they did not tell me about it. I moved my dresser to have cable installed and realized two large holes in the back. My headboard was also chipped and banged up.Totally unacceptable. And on top of all of that, Pat had the nerve to ASK for a tip!!!!!! I've tried calling the number to make a formal complaint, but no one answers. DO NOT MOVE WITH THIS COMPANY! The owner, Pat, who claims to not be the owner, called me back and denied damaging my dresser. Then he blamed it on Blue. Then he tried to say it was already damaged. I watched Blue carefully wrap all of my furniture and there were no damages before the move. Pat refuses to refund me. He also ASKED for a tip and I agreed before I knew of the damage. I tipped from my credit card of which he entered the number on his phone and signed a fraudulent signature himself instead of allowing me to sign myself. When I later saw my credit card charge, he had charged $55 when I only approved $50. This guy is a lying fast talker who hustled me out of $405 and damaged my property and did not tell me. He had similar reviews of this nature. He also drinks on the job, which is probably why he's damaging people's property. PAT IS A LYING CON ARTIST, BIGOT, DRUNK WHO WILL DESTROY YOUR PROPERTY AND NOT TELL YOU. HE WILL COVER UP THE DAMAGE AND THEN LIE ABOUT IT! On Friday 9/23/2016 I called Pat at Above and Beyond, to see if there was any possible way they would have time to do and apartment move on the very next day. I realized it was very, very short notice. I had just drove 12 hrs from Chicago expectantly and needed to move that Saturday and drive back Sunday. Pat told me if at all possible he would get it done as he had a very large moving job that Saturday. Pat kept in touch with me all Saturday and at 6:15 that evening, after working all day in 90 degree heat, he arrived. The storage unit, my belongings were to go to is closed at 9:00 pm, so I was worried that 3 hrs was not enough time do the move. I did not realize how good at and his crew are!!!! 45 minutes later my Apt was Loaded up... 1 hr later it was all in Storage!!!!! I am not kidding.....This company is THAT GOOD!!!!! Their equipment is top rate.....they know what they are doing.....in fact, I was the one that was getting in their way! There was not one single scratch on any of my furniture, nor anything at all even close to being damaged. Pat was also a master at arranging all my apt contents into one storage unit. I would not have gotten it all in!!! And here is the most unreal part......I was told what the total cost of the move would be, but sense it was done very quickly he reduced the price!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this moving company! Pat and Chris did a wonderful job- they worked hard for hours on end to move everything. They were extremely careful with every single item, especially with big TV's and other fragile items. Once we got to the new house, they made every effort to get boxes, furniture, etc. to the appropriate rooms, carrying every little thing upstairs for us. They were friendly, courteous, and polite. They only took a break when we asked them to please stop and eat dinner with us, after working for about 5-6 hours nonstop. From the first conversation we had with Pat, he was very upfront and honest, and gave us very realistic expectations on what to expect. We're so grateful for the hard, hard work these guys did in getting us moved. Also, very reasonably priced. We used Pat and his crew twice in the last year, and we will absolutely be using them again. Pat helped us move from our temporary housing into our new place in Charlotte back in May, and we ended up having more stuff than they could reasonably move in one day. Despite having another job booked the next day, he and his crew showed up to finish the job no questions asked. They were quick, efficient, and careful with our stuff. We were so impressed with him that when it came time for my in-laws to move from Pennsylvania down to Charlotte, we called Pat. He drove his truck and crew up to Pennsylvania, and made a very stressful move as easy as possible. I was in a jam, after the movers I hired didn't show up; the day before Thanksgiving. I located Above & Beyond Movers on the internet. (God lead me to the right people). Then I read their Yelp reviews and called Pat. He told me he would help me and not leave me stranded. He arrived early today and moved my things out of storage; into my new house. I can't say enough about how Pat and his crew did moving my son in Charlotte. He communicated with me several times before the move and offered great advise to help with the move. I live 8 hours from Charlotte and offered to help my son with calling a moving company since he was working. This is the best moving company in the Charlotte area. When another moving company stood my daughter up, I called Above and Beyond and they fit her in the next day- a Sunday I might add. By far the best moving experience yet. Pat and his helper worked fast and efficiently. We were hesitant to hire movers after our moving out experience with a more well known local Charlotte company. Way over priced and didn't take care of our stuff as we had liked. AB movers were amazing. Pat is a spot on guy, no frills, cheapest prices around and excellent work. He and Chris moved my husband and I to our first one story home together. We are both disabled, and senior citizens. Had great service from Above & Beyond, as they moved an upright piano -- heavy! -- from Charlotte to Rock Hill. From the beginning, Pat worked to make it as easy and prompt as possible, and was very good about following up on moving arrangements--even on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
