Honestly, the name of this business is a perfect reflection of their provided services; Anthony and Anna truly went above and beyond in accommodating our family for a reception we had yesterday following my great aunt's funeral services. It was a last minute preparation, as my great aunt's passing was unexpected. However, Anthony did not disappoint us at all. He was more than willing to accommodate our family and he made sure he provided us the best service possible. We had well over 100+ guests, and not a single one of them was disappointed. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. Here are just a few comments I personally heard through the evening: "This chicken is perfectly seasoned and so juicy." "Where did the desserts come from? They are bomb!" "The pasta was really tasty." "The set up is so pretty! Anthony did a great job preparing everything!" "Ate Angel, can you give me another cupcake?" "No you already had 2. That's enough" "But they are SO good." - my little 6 yr old cousin Speaking on my own behalf, wow. Honestly the food was truly delicious. I couldn't get enough of the chicken and pulled pork! It was such a long morning yesterday having to deal with the services, so of course everyone had a huge appetite by the time dinner came around.. There was more than enough food and everyone was satisfied. I even went back for seconds (and maybe even thirds, hehe). Thank you so much Anthony for providing exceptional services to our family! Highly HIGHLY recommend hiring him for any of your Bay Area/SF catering needs. :-) read more

I used Above and Beyond last night for an event and it was nothing short of SPECTACULAR! The bartender and service staff was professional, and attentive. We had around 50 guests, and they all mentioned that the food was AMAZING! I will definitely hire Above and Beyond again for our next event! read more

Chantel is a goddess! I called her and she talked through a small wine event I put on for my company. She was such a dynamo, she took great care of us. She met me on-site before the event to make sure things were well planned out. The food and wine were a big hit, and she made sure it went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend this company -and Chantel specifically! read more

Great service, great reviews from all our guests that commented that the food was excellent. I would no doubt book them again for another party in our home. Verity. read more

I was introduced to the talented team of Above and Beyond by an enthusiastic customer who highly recommended them -I run a skincare practice, and appreciate myself customer dedication, potent freshness and aesthetic aspects in any service/product to be experienced! and had to share my feedback with you all: they craft amazing decadent food, while providing impeccable customer service. On one specific occasion, an art show/ skincare promotional event, Above & Beyond flavor experts delivered an empirical experience for the taste buds ! while the artwork and the skincare samples satisfied the other senses... "Bravo". read more

We love Above and Beyond catering here at Salesforce! We have had an excellent experience so far. Anna and her husband are efficient and communicative. Phillip came to set up for breakfast and lunch for 150 people in under 30 min. He was polite, had a great attitude, and I was able to sit back and know that everything was taken care of.The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We are looking forward to many more meals with the wonderful Above and Beyond catering team! read more

My family has had the pleasure of using Above and Beyond Catering for several occaisions. Whether it was a party for 150 or a small gathering, they were excellent. The food was always delicious and hot and presented with style. We will continue to use them and would recommend them to any and all. read more

I adore A&B catering. They're always very flexible, happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, and everyone who arrives for set up or takedown is always incredibly friendly. We've used them in our office for catered lunches for about a year now and are very happy. They're always very careful with the presentation and it always looks fantastic. The food is delicious, plentiful, and there's plenty of variety. I usually estimate 1-2 people less than we actually have because the portions are generous, but we do run out of some of the more popular items in the themed buffets (like guacamole, but that's just because our employees are avocado fiends :) read more

Awful customer service. Never even tried the food because their below-grade customer service precluded the chance to get that far in the process. I called for a quote to cater a wedding. THREE WEEKS later, after 2 follow-up emails and a phone call, they finally returned my email and told me they were no longer available for the event. To string a potential client along for three weeks is completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. read more

i was really disappointed with this catering company. when you see a name like "above and beyond" you would think that they would really do what it takes to make your event a hit! - unfortunately, that was not the case. my office hired this company to cater our holiday party and when they came in to give us samples of their food it was SO GOOD - and very misleading. now i understand how food made in small batches is always going to taste better than food made for 100 people - but still! the food for the actual event was just okay. everything lacked flavor. they also didn't make the non-alcoholic punch and drinks. i had to scurry back to the office to grab whatever leftover juice boxes we had from the company picnic we had had a couple months before!! they totally skimped on the desserts too! the owner/chef of the catering company even left not even half way into the event! what kind of service is that? then he left his partner in charge who skulked by the dessert table demanding that everyone was only allowed one dessert ... really really really bad service... let's just say, we won't be using this company again. read more

My experience was 180 degrees different than the previous reviewer. We used Above and Beyond for our wedding of about 85 people. The place we held the wedding at, Fort Mason, has a challenging set-up (i.e. no working kitchen), but Above and Beyond handled it well. Also making their lives more difficult is the fact that my wife and I planned the whole event ourselves, buying the liquor, making centerpieces, arranging the ceremony etc. So they had to deal with us amateurs as well. The food they served (grilled salmon with mango salsa and risotto cakes), was delicious and matched what they served us during our tasting. Chef Anthony was there for the initial set-up and food service and then left everything in the capable hands of his head chef. I have no problem with that at all. Anthony also made a special point of personally serving myself and my bride appetizers, seeing that we had been too busy with guests to eat. The hors' douerves generated especially good compliments. Pesto mushroom caps, chicken satay, and legitimately terrific crab cakes, not those overly breaded kind. They had the tables set-up beautifully and the food came quickly and efficiently Speaking of staffing, the folks they had working the bar and serving were also terrific. Very professional, exceptionally nice, and very efficient. We didn't have a coordinator, so when things that we set-up didn't go exactly to plan (like running low on beer, or guests sitting at the wrong tables, etc) they handled it all in stride, and we worked together easily. Of special note was John Timothy, who managed the staff and literally went "Above and Beyond" in working with us on the planning. His experience helped us avoid a lot of pitfalls and made for a much better wedding than we could have had otherwise. With John's help we also used Above and Beyond for our rentals (folding chairs for outside, a white wedding arch, and all the plates, silverware etc.) In summary I can highly recommend Above and Beyond and though I'm only getting married once (!) we'll look for opportunities to use them again in the future. read more

I've used Above and Beyond for many of our company parties, Monday Lunches, Roof Top BBQ's, etc... We've had nothing but GREAT reviews from our staff. When they see the menu for Monday lunch and realize it's from "Anthony" A&B Catering their eyes perk up and they all get very excited. Here's an example of what we order from Anthony for our paid Monday lunches. Chicken & Spinach in White Wine Sauce Linguine w/ Shrimp, Sun-Dried Tomatoes &artichoke (Vegetarian Option) Wild Mushroom Risotto Baby Mixed Green Salad w/ Cherry Tomatoes Grilled Medley of Vegetables Cookies Brownies We actually had this brought in just yesterday by A&B catering and it was a smash hit! There's alot of caterers out there, BUT A&B is the ONLY caterer who has come in and mix fresh herbs into the dishes right before serving, they take the time to ensure your full satisfaction. All the other caterers have this "here's your food pay us" mentality. But Anthony with A&B takes the time out of his day to talk to his clients and always has a "Client is always right" mind set. We had the Japanese Delegation come in a few weeks ago and his food was a smash hit "yet again". The meeting went off with out a hitch. He even brought in China, Linens, serving dishes, silverware, etc... Above and Beyond like the other post mentions that he has it all. We had a rood top BBQ for the company to treat the employee's as well as watch the Blue Angels do their test runs. Anthony brought all of the seating for the event and helped set up the food and the event as well. I forgot to mention that the roof top was exactly that a roof top, with Anthony's help we turned it into a restaraunt on a roof! Above and Beyond Catering has wonderful food, perfect timing, and will work with you. If you don't have any ideas for your event, call Anthony and he'll suggest something that will suit your needs! read more

Here is a company whose name says it all. They DO go above and beyond in service, style, and most of all taste. We are new to the area and therefore had to go with research and instinct to select a caterer for a dinner party at our home. The result was - we couldn't have been more pleased! Chef Anthony and Sous Chef Aaron are fabulous. The food was so delicious we couldn't wait to eat the left-overs (and there were plenty - they made an abundance of food). All the guests raved about the amazing appetizers, pasta, chicken, veggies and salad. They and the office staff all kept saying "we want YOU to be happy". How often do you hear that anymore? And I wasn't easy, I called numerous times prior to the event. To top off the exceptional service, Chef Anthony decided to make a beautiful display table for the appetizers and he brought everything needed, right down to the chopsticks. And I didn't even ask, it was his idea. I'll end by saying I can't wait to plan another party with them, or at least beg for some take-out! read more

I first became acquainted with Above and Beyond after they catered a corporate event for my company back in January 2009. The food was exceptional and service impeccable. On the basis of this experience, we decided to go with the company for our wedding at the Outdoor Art Club at Mill Valley in June. We didn't regret it. The food was exceptional. The hors d'oevres, buffet and dessert bar received rave reviews from the wedding guests. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. The crew at Above and Beyond really lived up to their name. Craig was invaluable in helping us with the logistics for the event (timeline, advice on color schemes for table cloths, table configuration etc). Anthony proved to be an exceptional chef and very cool bloke to boot, and Anna created delectable pastry desserts. I wholeheartedly recommend Above and Beyond for corporate, wedding or any other events. read more

***** Five Stars is not Enough! ***** ABOVE AND BEYOND ROCKS! Anthony and Anna were extremely helpful at a most sensitive time. I had to find just the right people to plan a funeral reception for my mother. My expectation was already high because of their already sparkling reputation, but to my surprise they took care of all my needs and more! I was so pleased by their service that I took the time to introduce them to family members. They are everything a catering company should be: friendly, professional, accomodating, and always good eats! read more

Above and Beyond did the catering for our family Christmas Party. My personal favorite is Anthony's sundried tomato cream pasta with shrimp, the goat cheese bruchetta, and the duck over polenta. Their pastries are also a hit! They are absolutely professional and efficient with their services. Great people to work with and great food! read more

Above & Beyond catered my wedding and they did a great job! After reading and hearing horror stories about caterers not delivering what was promised, skimping on the food, etc etc and after meeting with several caterers who would not even talk to me when I told them our budget, I was so grateful to have had the fortune of working with Chef Anthony and his partners at Above & Beyond. The food the day of the wedding was superb, the service was fantastic and gracious, and Chef Anthony treated us (the bride and groom) so well! I can't say enough about how much I love them for making the wedding day wonderful and stress-free!!! Above & Beyond Rocks! read more

I phoned this company because of the other great reviews below and am completely delighted I did. Every step of the way was excellent but especially the night of our party at our home. I knew from Anna's walk through of our home that they would be relaxed and accommodating. From the moment they arrived I was able to simply enjoy my party while they looked after everything and, equally important, everyone! Craig was our server and Anthony did the table setup, food, etc. They were such a relaxed and relaxing presence, despite the fact that they were working non stop for us all night, keeping the food and drinks coming. The food was excellent - we had hors d'oeuvres and some platters, all of which were interesting, beautifully presented, and tasty! They stayed an extra hour for us, to make up for a delay that was my fault and they wrapped up and left without making anyone feel uncomfortable. I turned around and they were ready to leave, leaving me with a clean kitchen despite all the food and drinks that had been consumed. It was the most special party I've ever thrown and they made it one that the hosts could enjoy as well as the guests. Since we were continuing to party after they left, they left some of their serving platters with the as yet uneaten food. In getting those items back to them they were easy to work with and gracious about our busy schedules. I'm just looking for an excuse to use them again. Thanks Anna, Anthony, and Craig! read more

Above & Beyond catered my daughters graduation party and it was fantastic! The event was beautifully set up prior to all of our guests arriving. The food was excellent and the service great. read more

Anthony and Anna provided the catering for my wedding event, and everything worked out wonderfully. We had beautiful flower arrangements, an excellent venue referral at Ambiance Antiques that everyone thought was truly classy and elegant, and they did a table layout and arrangement that looked just great all around. The menu was just terrific - the pasta, tri-tip and salmon provided a dining experience to match the setting, and my 75+ guests were very, very satisfied - and that is what makes Above and Beyond a very satisfying choice for me. read more

I was planning an event for business advisors from all around the country and had to do it from thousands of miles away. It's usually impossible for the planning process to be seamless under these circumstances, but Above & Beyond Catering couldn't have been a better event partner. Chantel was incredible to work with! She recommended changes to our menus and visited our venue beforehand - all without being asked! Their service and attention to detail were truly the best I've experienced (and as an Events Manager I've experienced a lot). I can't wait to work with them again! read more

"Above and Beyond" should be called instead "Below and Beneath!"!! I am yet to encounter a busines so dishonest and so below standards. I hired this busniness for the first time to cater my Christmas party. The Chef talks to you personally until he gets your account. Then you don't hear from him. Instead he refers you to his assistant who does billing but can't do math. Each invoice they sent had major errors. They promised top quality Sirloin, cooked med-rare, with carving station. I got instead meat that is hard as rubber, cooked well done. They promised a frisee salad with cheese and walnuts, I got instead a blob of letturce with walnut and grapes! Grapes? They promised pasta with Mozarella on the side (for those who are lactose intolerant), instead I got hoards of pasta but no cheese and no sauce. Chef Antoine promised he will be personally present at my party, and charged me 5 hours for a Chef's time, and 5 hours for a bar server. Instead he sent me an inexperienced waiter who cooked the so called "Sirloin" well done. The bar server did a hatchet job cleaning later and left in 4 hours. There was not enough food for 24 people. But because that was the number I gave, I got charged for 24 persons eventhough 2 didn't show up!! Then, the waiter on the job served himself dinner before the guests. After everyone left, as I was cleaning the kitchen, I saw a plastic cup filled with wine, hidden from sight. The waiter forgot to clean after himself before leaving. Then, they left the table I rented from them. When I asked them to come and pick it up by 6:00, they called instead at 6:30 pm and wanted to pick it up at 9:30 pm. It took a week for them to collect the table. They charge you $75 for delivery ! Do they expect the Chef to work in my kitchen for 5 hrs. without delivering the food? Isn't this double billing? When I complained to the assistant, she plainly said "may be this isn't a good fit!" So buyer beware. At $55 per person excluding drinks and desserts, I expected restaurant quality and portions, instead I got a "deli" experience. Avoid them at any cost. read more
