From the beginning: * The tasting -- super convenient / affordable setup (group tasting with other couples, where we could try the whole menu). We knew we wanted to work with Le's after this, and which hors d'ourves we wanted. * Communication prior to the wedding -- Christina was incredibly responsive and professional. Everything felt like a well oiled machine, email communications were timely and well organized, and contracts/details were easy to follow. * Bartending service -- We wanted a BYOB + bartender option, and Le's had the perfect offering for us. We came up with two signature cocktails, and Christina was patient as I asked endless questions and made adjustments to the recipe. They pre-batched the cocktails for faster service, and guests raved about both of the cocktails as well as the other drinks that we offered. Christina also checked in on the strength of a coffee cocktail we had, and we were able to make adjustments on the fly as needed. * During the wedding -- Cocktail hour, dinner service, and late night snacks/boba were all delicious. In particular, as the couple, we were continuously fed throughout the night, and Christina would bring drinks / food directly to us. I felt so cared for and attended to, unlike stories of other weddings where couples mentioned not having a chance to eat. The highlight was probably the fish, but honestly everything we had was fantastic. My partner and I have had our fair share of dry chicken breast at other weddings, so we were determined to have something different at our own. As Asian-Americans, this Pan-Asian caterer immediately caught our eye. Steamed buns? Banh mi? Garlic noodles, Popcorn chicken and Boba?? We were nervous before our tasting that Le's was too good to be true. We are pleased to report however that Le's is legit! Could the flavors and seasoning be a little stronger? Maybe. But the taste is right and the food's still yummy, while being more approachable to non-adventurous palates. Despite delays in our schedule, Le's tasted fresh at our wedding. Our Vietnamese and Filipino families were very happy, and our other Asian friends said it was the best wedding food they've ever had. I would also like to say that my parents call me "Miss Boba", and I would give both the milk tea and taro milk tea an A+. While the flavors and quality of the food are indeed impressive, I found myself even more impressed by the way Le's operates. We were in contact with Amy prior to the wedding, and always received quick and thorough replies. The amount of detail required to plan a wedding can feel paralyzing at times, but Amy made this as painless as possible. I could easily see this process becoming a nightmare with a different caterer! As mentioned earlier, events were pushed back quite a bit, but Le's was still able to make our family-style dinner work. (This usually requires a specific length of time.) I also heard that servers approached guests who listed food sensitivities, and kept them informed as food arrived at each table. The service provided the day of our wedding was truly top-notch. Working with Le's Kitchen for our wedding this past weekend was a no brainer! My husband (!!) and I got married at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga. It's a complicated venue- every part of the wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) was in a different area and required a different set-up. Not to mention the fact that, since we were expecting some rain, we had to switch up the floor plan at the very last minute. Le's Kitchen rolled with the punches and never once did they push back on all the last-minute tweaks. Their positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile really meant a lot to us during this hectic time. We knew we wanted to do asian food for our wedding, but at the same time, we wanted something classy and elevated to fit our venue. Surprisingly, there aren't that many options in the Bay Area, so we're so grateful for Le's Kitchen for being the caterer of our dreams! Now on to the food- For hors d'oeuvres, we chose the: House Special Golden Rolls (my fave), Hawaiian Poke on Shrimp Chips (another fave), Petite Chicken "Banh Mi," and Lemongrass Beef Patties Wrapped in Pepper Leaves For dinner, we went with the Classic 6-Course Banquet Menu, served family style. Navigating through wedding planning was challenging at times because everything was so new to us. Amy and Christina are excellent communicators, answering every email and question we had with such great detail. From table layouts, linens, food choices, and even the timeline of the day, they were very patient with us as they guided us with every step of the way. We are so impressed by their organization skills and reliability when it comes to email communication. The communication with the team had been prompt, and they were also very understanding and helpful in recommendations on how best to stay within budget. While the number of main dishes (six) is less than a traditional Chinese banquet menu at a restaurant, the hors d'oeuvres along with the quantity of food more than compensate. They were absolute professionals, from the servers to the bar tenders. I had asked for a special "soft" meal specifically for one of my older relatives, and they were able to provide a lovely donabe tofu meal for her. I let them know about a girl with an shellfish allergy, and I noticed them double checking with her at her seat to avoid the soft shell crab. Sometimes peoples coats fell from their chairs, but I saw staff swiftly picking them up to place back on the chairs without disturbing our guests. At the end of the night, they packed up every single left over so nothing was left to waste. My family was able to enjoy the dishes again the evening after, and we had a whole two-tier cake left over that was completely saved for us, without damage. This review is for our April 17th, 2021 wedding at Thomas Fogarty Winery. We were blown away (and so full!) from the food - great presentation, variety and flavor - during the tasting and Ava was so warm, professional and easy to talk to that we decided on the spot to hire Le's Kitchen. We had to postpone our original date due to COVID-19 and were resigned to cancelling all catering since things were still not looking safe. It was only 2 months out when we found out we could host outdoor dining at 25% of the venue's capacity, and had to do a lot of scrambling to organize a safe, socially distanced ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner for our guests. Ava was so helpful during this time because Le's Kitchen knows our venue so well and were able to make really great and practical suggestions to accommodate constantly changing guidelines. And when the big day came, the best part was that her and her team were always on the spot. They wore masks and were careful about social distancing, and made the whole day seamless and stress-free. We hardly gave any direction at all with how we wanted our decor and tables set up for dinner and they did a wonderful job. Hors d'oeuvres were individually plated instead of butler-passed and dinner was 3-course plated instead of family style; everything was tasty and high quality (Le's always cooks at the venue rather than prepping then reheating food). We had several guests compliment the garlic noodles, sea bass and boba for dessert (there is a boba shortage right now and they managed to source it anyways!) and one said this was the best meal she had eaten since COVID-19 started! As many previous reviews say, Ava constantly checked up on us throughout the evening and packed us food to-go since we hardly had time to eat. Thank you, Ava and team for all your hard work! This review is long overdue but before I begin talking about how beyond awesome Le's Kitchen is, let me just say prior to our wedding, we did not know Ava or anyone from the company, personally. This is not a bias review but a genuine vendor/client relationship that was built on trust and satisfaction. Le's Kitchen catered our 200 guest wedding at the Bently Reserve in San Francisco. Soon after we booked our venue, about a year out, the next big item on our "to do" list was to find a caterer that would not only serve amazing food but one that would provide excellent five star service. The day of the wedding, Ava and her team brought their A game. We first found out about Le's Kitchen through our venue as they were listed along other caterers on a preferred vendor list. I emailed to inquire about our date and within the same day, Ava replied saying our date was available and attached different menu styles/items and dates we could come in for a tasting. I appreciated her quick response as I also emailed other caterers and until this day some still have not replied back (I know, right). After a few exchanged emails with questions that I had regarding their catering company, we scheduled a tasting. Ava welcomed us into their private tasting location as if we had visited her home. She was warm, hospitable, and talked us through every single dish she served us personally. She was present to answer every question and each dish came out freshly cooked from the kitchen. We tried all the appetizers and main entrees and even left with leftovers! We were impressed by the food and knew our guests would be too. By the time we secured Le's Kitchen, we were still a year out from the big day. I mention this because throughout the year of planning, I had sent many emails to Ava with questions that may or may have not pertain to her but she was quick to reply. Given her experience working at our venue for previous events, her knowledge and expertise was very helpful. I would literally come across an idea in the middle of the night and email Ava asking for her input or thoughts which she was kind to provide not being our primary coordinator. Since our venue did not provide anything but the space, we also appreciated that Le's Kitchen was a full-service caterer. They work directly with the rental vendors to ensure each table, chair, linen, utensil, drink and silverware was covered. Ava was also very transparent when it came to overall pricing (something couples should look for when planning a wedding don't deal with hidden or extra misc. fees). Closer to the wedding, Ava along with our day-of coordinator and florist scheduled a mock-up of what the guest tables would look like. Ava took everything I had shared with her over the months and after a few tweaks (Ava kindly changed out different tableware options just for us to visually see), we finalized. Ava also suggested to change certain menu options because she understood the type of wedding we wanted to host and did not think certain dishes would be appropriate for a black tie wedding. All this to say, Ava really looks at the big picture and wants you to execute your dream day. We were probably the least stressed couple on their wedding day in part due to Ava and her team. I recall while taking photos, the transition from the ceremony to reception. The entire Le's Kitchen staff were organized, professional, precise (tables/chairs/china were perfectly set), and efficient. Ava even had one of her staff members follow us around with a personal platter of the chosen appetizers that were also being passed around during cocktail hour. Right when dinner began, Ava herself, walked over to our sweetheart table and served us our plates that had a little bit of everything on the menu. Ava really made sure we ate! At the end of of the night, we remember popping into the kitchen to thank Ava and her team. Until this day, we still receive compliments on the food that was served at our wedding. We were told it was, "the best food at a wedding". From the appetizers (little banh mi's and beef carpaccio's were a hit) to the garlic noodles and the sugarcane prawn balls, and what everyone raved about, the. freaking. sea. bass! It was so buttery! If only you can just order that from them! The staff also did a great job taking down and cutting our 3 foot wedding cake! Our caterer was very important to us, as should be for all couples planning a wedding. Despite our appreciation of other cuisines, we wanted to pay more attention to our guests and serve food we knew they would enjoy. This review has gone far too long and I can say more about Ava/Le's Kitchen! If you are looking for a trustworthy, dependable, professional, high quality caterer that serves delicious Asian cuisine, seriously, go with Le's Kitchen! About a decade ago, I attended a friend's wedding with *delicious* Asian-style banquet food. When I realized I could have the same caterer for my own wedding years later, I actually planned the wedding date around Ava's availability! Would do it again in a heartbeat, becauase Ava and her team blew us and all of our guests away. Not only was the food fantastic, as expected (comments included "best meal I've had all year" and "better than the food at my wedding, I wish we had known about this caterer"), but the execution was top notch, with everything handled expertly and on schedule, despite some challenging logistics due to COVID and the venue layout. The icing on the cake was working with Ava, who was endlessly patient with my *many* questions, and who made sure my husband and I were pampered on our big day. After exchanging emails with Ava numerous of time we finally made an appointment for tasting. I already tried Le's food about 5 years ago at my friend's wedding and I fell in love. My family only eats Chinese food and I did not want to have my banquet at a typical Chinese restaurant. I wanted my family to try out this Asian fusion food and they LOVVEEED it! We came in and tried the hors devours -- it was Vietnamese fusion. We also tried food from banquet menu, it consist of mainly seafood. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. Ava did a very good job explaining all the dishes. I cannot wait for the rest of my family and friends to try Le's Kitchen food on our wedding day. Choosing Le's Kitchen Catering for our wedding was one of the BEST decisions (if not the best) we made during the wedding planning process. When deciding between different venues/caterers, my husband and I were quite conflicted. We wanted to have a wedding at a nice venue, but also wanted to have Asian food that usually would have to be served at a Chinese restaurant wedding banquet. Initially, we didn't think it was possible to have both, but then realized that Le's Kitchen Catering was on the preferred vendors list for Bently Reserve, the venue we loved, and we knew it was meant to be! To be honest, we ended up choosing our wedding date based on Le's Kitchen Catering and Bently Reserve's availability but we're so glad we did! The food was truly amazing and so many of our guests raved about it afterwards. Ava was also super sweet and made sure that my husband and I were also fed during the wedding + packed us a to-go box for post-wedding :) Overall, Ava and her team were AMAZING to work with. Ava was always available to answer our questions and also provide recommendations, as she has worked at the Bently countless times. I also loved that she was able to help coordinate not only the actual catering but also all the chairs, tables, etc. that we would need (at a very reasonable rate!). Additionally, her team was able to flip the ceremony room efficiently and I was told by many guests that the service all night was top-notch. I rarely give five stars, but Le's Kitchen Catering easily deserves at least five stars. I am extremely meticulous, detail-oriented, particular, and a million other adjectives for PICKY. This is lethal when planning dinner for over 400 wedding guests!! My wedding, which was catered by Le's Kitchen Catering, took place on 9/4/2010, at Summit Pointe Golf Club in Milpitas. The whole affair was completely outdoors and had over 40 tables of guests. INSANITY. It was the first time Le's Kitchen Catering, the golf club, or any of my vendors had done such a large-scale event in a completely outdoor setting. Let's talk food: I don't like fusion food; I wanted real, traditional Vietnamese food at my wedding. I was very tired of the traditional wedding feast at most Asian friends' weddings. I definitely wanted to have familiar comfort food at my wedding, but I wanted the food to be exciting and presented elegantly. I had the three-course dinner at my wedding, and it was traditional Vietnamese food served with a very modern and beautiful presentation. Ava was the only caterer out of the dozen I interviewed and researched who could do my absolute favorite dish, ca kho to (a delicious caramelized claypot-roasted catfish) for my wedding. She is willing to go the extra mile to make your wedding exactly what you dreamed it would be. Plus, because of liability issues, the golf club didn't let caterers use their kitchen. Le's Ke is the only caterer I spoke to who could do an event of this size outdoors in a kitchen they brought from San Francisco and constructed right on the green (their own range, pots, pans, 60 gallons of water, etc. -- all the food is made to order!). Our three-course meal included the soft-shell crab salad and a special order of canh chua (tom yum-eque soup) with tiger prawn. For the entree course, we had the garlic noodles (highly recommended -- people still talk to me about my wedding from a year ago about the garlic noodles), lemongrass steak, and salt-and-pepper fish. We also upgraded to include roasted quail with our entree course. Divine. Everything was delicious, but there was a lag in the tables getting the food and the entrees got cold, because the servers had to walk so far in a foreign environment that was hilly and grassy for over 40 tables, so it's understandable. Many, many kudos and infinite gratitude to the chef. The reception site I had basically just gave me the space on the grass and the tables, I had to supply everything else. Luckily, Ava is a god-send and helped bring my dream outdoor wedding to fruition: She completely understood what I needed and wanted at my wedding and helped me bring it all together. Normally, 420+ guests + completely outdoor wedding reception + hill-y golf course wedding site = a disaster, BUT not with Ava directing the show! I planned my own wedding, but I honestly could not have done it without Ava. For example, my crazy rentals vendor dumped a bunch of heat lamps on the lawn and told me it wasn't in her contract to place them around the tables for me (ridiculous -- just what I need to hear upon arrival of my own reception), Ava kindly put them in for me. The flatware, silverware, glasses, tablecloths, linens, and setings from Ava were all gorgeous, and I was able to alternate my wedding colors (pink and brown) in the tablecloths and napkins. It was so gorgeous. The quality of the poly-cotton linens were all beautiful, soft, and perfect! Another example of her thoughtfulness and attention to detail: Ava had her staff light the candles on all the tables as the sun set -- our groomsmen forgot to bring a lighter to this, which was their original job! The woman is incredible! She was always on the move, coordinating with the waitstaff, the golf course's staff, the DJ, and guests trying to find seats. I kept facing problems, but Ava always had the solutions. Whether doing a candy buffet to doing an outdoor wedding reception for over 400 guests (a first for Ava, me, and the golf course), Ava solved all the issues and problems she -- and I -- faced. From the wonderful tasting to picking all the linens/wares to the actual wedding, Ava made wedding planning and throwing a wedding a breeze and really fun. Ava is always calm, kind, and polite even to our crazy vendors. She is a wonderful coordinator, and let's keep in mind that this is not part of her job. I am dying to start planning a vow renewal or other event just to hire Ava and Le's Kitchen Catering again. The food was incredible, and Ava, the amazing chefs, and everyone in LKC are amazing. Thank you so much for making my wedding truly the event of a lifetime. People still talk to me about how amazing my wedding was, and I know it's in no small part thanks to you. Ava is very professional and knowledgeable. Right off the bat, I could tell we would be in very good hands. She is very responsive and will answer any questions. She also makes great suggestions for any work arounds needed. We came for a tasting with some friends and family. The food overall was good but there were definitely some better or worse than others. Their pricing is cheap compared to other caterers and the quality is good. Beef Carpaccio: amazing and so flavorful! What is wrong with you?! My reasons why Ava and her team are the best of the best: Ava is detailed and organized in her communications and overall work. She answers questions quickly and makes helpful suggestions. She really takes the time to think things through on your behalf. On the day of the wedding, she executed everything with speed and precision. My other vendors really appreciated her professionalism and commented that they enjoyed working with her, that they hoped to work with her again. The food was tasty and not greasy or heavy. Our guests still rave about the food weeks after our wedding. We had family style and everyone cleaned their plates. Appetizers were a hit too! Her staff are efficient and helpful. I think they really enjoy working for someone so awesome, and it shows in their service. Her zen approach is an asset on a stressful day. Lastly, her pricing is very reasonable for San Francisco.
