I have had About Thyme cater several different events for me over several years. Some were for me personally at my home. Others were events for a volunteer group and included four lunches for around 350 guests and five dinners for about 100 guests. All were terrific!! John is very easy to work with and very reliable. John Kinderman and his crew are some of the best in town. I met John while working as the Director of Special Events at a Los Angeles Museum. I was always to thrilled with the level of service and yummy food. So much so that I called on John when I got married. My husband and I are both food junkies, but have some very picky family members. He's always busy but is very diligent about responding to e-mails (which I love). My wife and I can't say enough good things about John and About Thyme. We hired About Thyme to provide catering for our wedding at the Natural History Museum and can't imagine anyone else providing such a personal and professional service. From the initial meeting through planning and finally our big day my wife and I were consistently blown away by the care John and company took to make sure our night was the best possible. We had an east meets west theme to the wedding and about thyme came through with a dual buffet of western and thai food (we even had a Thai chef preparing food for our guests in the buffet line!!) We gave About Thyme short notice for a small cocktail party. John Kinderman was professional, gracious and enthusiastic as he helped us plan the party. He and his staff arrived on time and from that moment on, I knew we were in good hands. The food was incredible, one appetizer as incredible as the previous one. His two helpers were wonderful. Our guests were beautifully taken care of. The staff was attentive, friendly and professional. Food presentation was outstanding. The food. Wow! I could have had nothing else but the fresh corn fritters with truffle honey...until I had the stuffed medjool dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, the incredible chicken skewers (which I normally find to be too dry and tasteless) were cooked to perfection. I would be remiss if I also didn't mention the stuffed mushrooms, and the lobster bisque shooters. It was a perfect evening and best of all, I did nothing but enjoy my guests and the incredible food.
