Then they said they would be delayed until 7:00 PM. We initially called them at 3:00 PM. At 5:00 a tow truck driver was driving by and stopped us and asked us if we needed help. He towed us to our local service station in Morristown so we could drop the car off and then drove us home. Thank you again! Great service with a wonderful tow truck driver!

Wow! Mr. Hook Towing saved the day!…read more First, they picked up the phone right away and immediately asked important questions I hadn't thought about. After assessing the difficulty of the tow (a vehicle without keys, parked on a residential street in-between two other parked cars) they quoted a totally fair and reasonable price. Since, without keys, the vehicle couldn't be moved out of its parking spot in a traditional way, they actually found a neighbor to move their car so the tow truck could get behind our vehicle. This is an incredibly thorough and smart level of service. Once the vehicle was dropped off at its destination, Mr. Hook Towing sent photos to show exactly where it was parked. Then, ini minutes, I was able to pay over the phone and got an emailed receipt. Being that I was out of town when all this happened, you can imagine what a relief it was to receive such thoughtful, professional, and quality service. I'm so glad I called Mr. Hook Towing! They look a challenging situation and made it easy and stress-free. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Insanely high prices. I had my car towed for being parked illegally. Not their fault obviously…read more My car was towed about 15 minutes (less than 20 for sure) away from where it was parked. I was charged $392 to retrieve it! This is insanely predatory pricing. I was told that it was so high based on the distance, although I was in their office with a line of people who were all towed from about the same spot and our price was significantly higher than everyone else's so that doesn't seem to be true. We were all charged an "after hours" fee for picking our cars up on a Sunday afternoon when they are apparently normally closed, nevermind that they had just spent the afternoon towing all of our cars just a few hours before and were waiting at the shop for us to come get them! When I arrived I asked the one person waiting to meet people out front how long it would take to get my car back as I had several people with me who needed to be at the airport shortly and I needed to figure out that timing for them. He immediately got angry with me for asking questions and I'm fairly certain had them up my rate in the office because of it. They were immediately being rude and difficult with anyone who was even remotely unhappy to have to deal with this, whether they were being rude about it or not, and kept insisting they were just trying to help us! You would think people who spend their time stealing cars off the side of the road and extorting people for insane profits to get them back would be used to people being in a bad mood around them but apparently this isn't the case. To make matters worse, they handed out bottles of water while we were waiting (honestly, an appreciated kindness given the heat) and then proceeded to joke with us that we should frame the bottles as they were about to be the most expensive bottles of water we ever bought! Meanwhile there were people in line on their phones with loved ones trying to scrape together the cash to get their car back and somehow this was funny enough to them to joke about. I would never recommend this company for any towing because, as others have already noted on other review sites, their prices are ridiculous and on top of that their pricing, behavior, and attitude with people dealing with a stressful situation were predatory and cruel.

I'm honestly shocked that this company has so many 5 star reviews as we had the complete opposite…read moreexperience with them. Below are the main bullet points as to what happened after we hired JL towing. 1)JL Towing towed our All Wheel Drive vehicle on the front two wheels which completely damaged our transmission costing us over $4000 in repairs. (We have since found out that this is common knowledge among the auto industry. Any reputable/reliable tow truck company should know this and never tow an AWD vehicle unless on a flatbed). 2)We reached out to JK towing shortly after we found out our transmission was damaged and they lied to us and were extremely difficult and rude but also refused to provide their insurance information. 3)We filed a claim with our insurance who found immediately that the damage to our transmission was 100% because of the incorrect tow. They have tried for months to find out JL towing insurance information and have come to the conclusion that they are UNINSURED!! Please be aware that this is a shady company that does not have insurance so if they damage your vehicle further while towing they will not take responsibility or provide insurance as they do not have insurance.

Let's be honest, if you need a towing service - you are in a bind! I was in that situation…read moreyesterday and let me be clear - this is in itself a very stressful experience. I had been out to Warren County and Hunterdon County and was heading back home (Somerset County). I was on Rt 31 to pickup Rt 78, and could not avoid a pothole. On top of a flat tire, the rim was bent! I have low profile tires and when I hit it, I knew I was in trouble. Drivers front, loud boom - just awful. Stayed off 78, and 31 took me to 22. It was late afternoon and I pulled into a service station who could not help me and suggested AAA. (I did not have it). BUT - I did decide to join AAA, bought the Plus, ($100) and called them. Unbeknownst to me, if you want to use AAA the same day, you have the pleasure of paying an additional $65 and $4 a mile! No Thank You. I called this service and initially, the gentleman on the phone said they did not have anyone available, and I explained that I really needed his help. He must have understood my pain because he said hold on, called a driver and told me it would be about an hour. The driver, Dave came and also gave me a ride home. The phone rang constantly with calls for service. These guys work and do not complain, they are courteous to people who are not courteous calling them! He also explained that my insurance (after asking who our carrier was) would cover the tow - and that I should reach out to the DOT for the repair. Excellent service, I would highly suggest calling these folks first if you are in need. You will not be disappointed and I cannot image what these negative reviews are about.
