TLDR: This is a good location if you don't have any questions or issues with the paint they give you. Terrible customer service.
Just like Michelle, I also initially really liked this location as we had spent over $600 in paint/supplies over the past couple months during our home renovation and visited the location probably 10 times. We first ordered the Advance Satin in Simply White and painted all of our doors with two coats. A few weeks later, we decided we liked the color and purchased Regal Select Matte in Simply White to match. When I painted the walls, they didn't match the doors--the walls were very yellow and the doors were a barely-vanilla color. We tested the paints in every room, every light color temperature, every light brightness and never did they match, so we took all 5 cans back to Aboff's to see if we can re-tint them or exchange them for the correct color.
We were told that in fact, yes, the colors didn't match, but those are the formula outputs the computers gave, so we're out of luck unless we wanted to buy more paint and mix our own color. We were eventually offered an exchange of 2 of our Regal Select Simply White cans to a lighter color (Snowfall White) to mix ourselves because he'll resell the exchanged cans. While he mixed the Snowfall White, which is a standard color and nothing new to him, he complained the whole time about how annoying and frustrating this is for him but for us it's not a big deal to repaint the whole house. Right, so the week I took off from work so I could paint the house doesn't matter because we can always just buy another $250-worth of paint to repaint all the doors and the whole house, and I can just take another week off from work to fix the computer's mistake? I don't think so.
We take the cans home and spend three days measuring, mixing, swatching and testing the paint mixture. Nothing got us to the correct color, so we took the cans back to Aboff's to ask if they can please try to color match or at least take back one of our unused cans, so it's not a complete loss for us. The man who "helped" us the first time wasn't there this day, so I initially had a little more hope.
They don't offer refunds on "custom paint," he says as he walks away from us and refuses to make eye contact. Every tinted paint is custom.
I say, but the paints don't match and we've gone through every swatch in the store and nothing matches the Advance Simply White we were given initially.
He says why don't we just buy a can of white base and go home to further tint the paint on our own, again. I asked if I bought the white base if they could tint the whole batch for me because I'm not a painter. Nope. They only tint paint according to the computer's formulas.
I was very nice during both encounters, but at this point I'm furious because no one in that store could bother to talk to us. We eventually made a scene and got our $55 back for the one untouched Simply White can--that they will resell. I now only have 4 gallons of unusable paint instead of 5, so we're out over $200 and heading over to Sherwin Williams to get a custom color match. read more
