This is our third experience with Abel Plumbing and Rob did the last two services who is owner of the business and does a phenomenal service. He doesn't charge anything for coming out to look at the job that you are concerned about. His value is much lower than many area services. And his quality is phenomenal! We've had them out to help with a toilet reinstallation, get advice on a new sink that had to be put in and NEW updated faucets to go with it. Rob went so far as giving us his personal phone number to call when we picked out different drop in sinks. He let us know that we would get a better discount if we went shopping ourselves, but gave us advice along the way. Each time he is here he's quick with service and gets the job done. Most recently we had a leak in a pipe in our basement and he fixed that in under 15 minutes. I then realized that there was no water coming from one of our sinks afterwards although the toilet was working fine in the same bathroom and all the water in that rest, the house was fine. He came back the next day in the morning and worked on the issue and charged us nothing for it. Part of it was just a safety precaution on the sink but another part he cleaned out and still chose to charge us nothing. I highly recommend them as a business. They were having a little bit of an issue with their phones so Bob gave me his personal cell phone to call anytime needed. If you don't get a call back the same day please call again. read more

I called Able in off hours and left a message. Also left another message and time to call. Never got a response. Called the next day at 11 AM. Another recording telling me they are closed and will be open in the morning. A woman called me back. She wouldn't even let me explain the problem I was having with the garbage disposal. Just told me a short amount of time from someone at Able would cost me $125.00 and I probably needed a new disposal. The 3/4 HP Insinkerator is only 2 years old. Without any info from me about the problem she assumes I needed a new disposal. That would cost $398.00. I asked what horsepower it had. She replied 1/2 HP. I paid $257.20 for the 3/4 HP insinkerator I bought 2 years ago. I called Sa's Plumbing. He came today. Fixed my disposal and charged $100.00. Thumbs down To Able Plumbing. Called for a fix to a leak behind the wall of my upstairs bathroom. Rob (owner) came out and cut through my drywall to expose multiple leaks coming from several pipes. He was able to replace all the bad pipes and explain in detail everything he was going to do beforehand. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. My parents recommended I call Rob and talk to him for our kitchen remodel. We needed the gas line moved a bit because the replacement cabinets were a little bigger than the old ones and it didn't line up anymore. After receiving an over priced quote for replacing a water heater, I saw this company had received good reviews and thought to give them a chance. I set up an appointment with Val, who was very friendly and had a great attitude. They quoted me a price that was $800 less than the previously mentioned quote! I was told they could get to me the next day for a late morning appointment. Later that day I received a return call from Val letting me know that they would be able to bump me up to an early appointment time. The morning of the work I received a call ahead letting me know the technician (Henry) was on the way. Henry arrived on time and after doing an initial inspection of the water heater, got right to work. We have a three year old that is very curious and was trying to "help." He was very polite and kind to her even when she got out her tool box. Henry was knowledgeable and answered questions I had about the new unit and didn't show any signs of being annoyed by the questions. He was done promptly and was professional the entire time. Found these guys on Angie's List and they were ranked super high (grade A rating) and I can tell you why. The plumber, Rob, was a very decent, honest, man who got the jobs done quick and answered all my questions. We're moving into a new home and our home inspector provided a very nit-picky list of things we should get checked out and fixed, Rob helped weed through the necessary things to get fixed and versus the cost-suckers. I really also loved that he was one of the first service-providers I have had that was early for our appointment rather than late! I was not satisfied with this company. The plumber I had misdiagnosed my problem. I even told him what I suspected it was (broken toilet seal) He proceeded to completely rebuild my toilet which was totally unnecessary and charged me $350. Right after he left it was apparent the problem still existed. He came out one more time to tighten the bolts on the toilet and he did not seem to think further action was needed. The toilet base was cracked (not his fault, but the tightening didn't help) so he did not want to pull it off, replace the seal, and reinstall the cracked toilet. He mentioned I might need a new toilet but never followed up. I had to call someone else, buy a new toilet and have it installed. The entire process w/ Able took way too many visits, didn't solve the problem, and wasted my money. I deserve a total refund. read more

These guys are all about fast, high-quality service. Called at 8:30am on a Sunday morning due to a water heater issue Saturday night. Received call from dispatcher 30 minutes before tech was scheduled to arrive. Danilo (our tech) was on site at 10:20am, had a new AO Smith water heater installed by noon and now he's on his way to help another customer. Price was on par with previous (which were non-Sunday/non-emergency by the way) estimates from other plumbers. Called Able Plumbing due to a minor leak in the master bathroom shower head that was damaging the ceiling of the basement bathroom. I called on a Friday and they weren't able to show up till Saturday because they were booked up. That was fine by me because this wasn't an emergency. The representative gave me a window of 0800-1200 for arrival time. On Saturday, she gave me a call to let me know that the plumber was on his way. Nelson was in and out in about 30 minutes and made sure to attempt the least destructive option before breaking up the tile. He explained everything that he planned to do. And, made recommendations to us on how to prevent it from happening in the future. He replaced the old shower arm, which did the trick. We are going to keep an eye on it for about a week to ensure that there are no further issues before sealing up the access panel and the hole we had to cut in the dry wall to investigate the leak. The great news is that the materials used are covered by a 30 day warranty. Able plumbing charges $97 for the first 30 minutes and $88 for each additional 30 minutes, plus the cost of parts. Talk about about same-day service! We were taking our Sunday morning showers when the main plumbing line backed up and we needed to have it snaked. I called a couple of other places that wanted an emergency charge to come within a day or two or were closed on Sundays. I called Able and they were able to come out the same day, such a life-saver, and they charge the same price regardless of when they come out. The woman on the phone was very honest with me about the pricing, so no surprises there. They came out, opened up our line and we can take showers and flush toilets again. Another good thing is they offer a 30 day warranty so if the problem was not fixed today, they will come back out free of charge to snake it again. I recently needed a kitchen faucet replaced after I discovered it leaking one late Friday night. I submitted my request on the Home Advisor app that same night and quickly had three qualified plumbing company contacts' info emailed to me for consideration. This seemed like a very routine service for a professional plumber - but after a little research I was reminded that virtually every plumbing company refuses to quote any estimate, let alone a definite price, over the phone. They mostly insist on sending their plumber to visit the home and seeing the situation in-person before quoting the price - and the vast majority of those charge a "travel" or "visit" fee anywhere between $49-$100 which would at least be counted toward the repair cost once they complete the repair. Seems like a huge waste of time and expense so I had to at least try to get one of them to quote me a price over the phone. To my surprise Able Plumbing did just that, I explained the straightforward situation, and even sent a couple of photos to help clarify the situation, and they agreed that with the information I provided, that they could quote me a price. This happened by noon the next day and their price was in the affordable range I was hoping for, so we set the appointment for the next day, on Sunday morning. Their plumber arrived on time and performed the faucet replacement in a very professional manner. We were back up and running with a new kitchen faucet less than 36 hours after discovering the leak. I've had Able Plumbing out a few times now, and they always do amazing work! Usually they come out on the very same day - most recently within 2 hours of calling them! They are fast, capable, helpful and clean. I've never had even the slightest issue with their work, and their prices are great too. The best thing they did? Charged 375 to snake a kitchen sink and another 150 to replace a pipe under the sink cause when the garbage disposal is on it spurts water out of the sink. Apparently it was because the pipe was clogged and did not need to be replaced just snaked. When I talked to another plumber he told me that it did not need to be replaced and he only charges 150 to snake. Then 30 days later the pipe starts leaking that they replaced and said their guarantee was only for 30 days but they would fix it. Like they were doing me a favor.
