I know some folks aren't fans of going to the dentist, but I always have a positive experience when I go to Able Dentistry. I was in for my regular cleaning. I had a few questions which were answered promptly. The dental assistant remembered me from last time. She did a great job cleaning my teeth. She even had a trick to help my gag reflex when taking my x-rays. Dr. Medaugh came in and checked everything over. He answered some questions as well and I was on my way. The office is fragrance free which, as an asthmatic, I appreciate. read more

I went to Able Dentistry twice for swollen gum/toothache. They prescribed me a mouthwash and after 6 days the pain had only gotten worse and bonding I had on my front teeth was gone and I wondered if it was due to the mouthwash. I returned six days later addressing my concerns: pain I can't sleep through and the bonding that was gone. The hygienist confirmed that it wasn't the mouthwash that would strip the bonding and that they do bonding there. She also said they might need to perform x-rays that was not covered by insurance so they can see deeper into what the problem was but the doctor would talk about it with me. Dr. Medaugh looked at the problem area but still couldn't tell what would be causing it. He then started sneezing and told me I was wearing something he was allergic to - also that the bonding would be hard to do, no one notices it except me and that wasn't the reason I was there anyway. I didn't expect to do it that day, so he didn't need to be so dismissive. After he left the hygienist told me he is highly sensitive to scent and even though I didn't have perfume on that it must have been a hair product I had on - a small amount of dry shampoo from 3 hours earlier? She then opened the window and I sat there for long periods of time freezing. The doctor came back in and ultimately told the hygienist to do x-rays (he called it something different from what she told me about so I didn't think it was the non covered x-rays.) The x-rays were done, 5 minutes later the hygienist told me he still doesn't know what the problem was and I'm being referred elsewhere. As if this visit couldn't get any worse, I went to the front desk where 3 girls were sitting there and didn't even look up or acknowledge me - one of them was too busy texting on her cell phone. After a long silence one of them pushes the credit card machine to me and says "$205". I wished I would have been informed I was receiving the non covered x-rays but I paid without complaint. I continued to stand there to be directed on what action to do next... do I sign something ... am I done or what....? Several moments of silence later she told me I didn't need to sign anything, her way to signify I could leave - no thank you or have a nice day or any social politeness. Worst experience I've ever had at any doctor's office. Left feeling upset, still in pain and a referral to go elsewhere. The end result could have been the same but some niceties would go a long way!! The hygienists were nice, that's it. read more

This is a great place for dentistry. My family and I have been coming here for a couple of years. The staff is professional and friendly. The place is clean and seems to run efficiently. No one likes to go to the dentist, but this place makes it as pleasant as possible. They've always handled me with care and do a solid job with cleanings and additional work. Overall, I'm pleased with how they maintain my pearly whites! read more

I had to find a new dentist in November 2020 as I wasn't happy with the practice I had been going to. I chose Able dentistry because of a few reviews and what I saw on their website. I would highly recommend Dr. Medaugh and his team. They are very thorough, work well as a team and great at putting you at ease. I had to have several problems taken care of. Dr. Medaugh is honest and doesn't try to push or sell you unnecessary stuff. He does excellent work and so does his staff. I'm in the healthcare field and am very picky about whom I get care from. read more

I've been coming here for a few years, and based on that I trusted them to care for my aging mother (a good decision). But last year, I needed a crown that was extremely challenging to build. This took several trips and a lot of patience on my part... not to mention Dr. Medaugh's part. I can only say how pleased and impressed I am by his commitment to take a difficult case and not settle for 'good enough' but push through to an excellent result. I've generally found his staff to be highly professional as well. read more

Dr. Medaugh and his staff are amazing. I always had a huge phobia of dental procedures, and neglected my teeth as a result. Since finding Able, more than ten years ago, my bi-annual cleanings and random issues are dealt with stress free. Ten stars! read more

Went to get a simple cavity filled, and walked away with the worst dentist visit I've ever experienced. They used nothing to numb me and the woman sand blasted and ground down the cavity so much that they had to do the whole thing twice. I was clearly in pain, but she told me to "stop shaking." Experiences like this are unnecessary and exactly why many dread visits to the dentist. read more

I have been a dental assistant for about 8 years and have worked in various dental offices in the United States and Canada. As a dental health professional, I would highly recommend this dental office for you and your family's long term dental needs. I enjoy working at this office when I temp as a dental assistant. It is my favorite office in the city! The staff are knowledgable and friendly. The office environment is fun, which is important for patients and decreases dental anxiety. Dr. Medaugh is a kind dentist with excellent chair side manner. Because this office is so awesome, you can count on seeing the same familiar smiling faces when you come to your dental appointment because the staff that are working have been there for a long time and enjoy their job and work environment. Check out this office if you are looking for a dental practice that is honest, knowledgable, friendly, ethical, and efficient. You won't be let down! :) read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Medaugh's for over 15 years and there are not enough words to describe how absolutely wonderful he and his staff are. Dr. Medaugh is unique because he not only cares about you as his patient, but as a person as well. Over the years he has got to know myself and my whole family and this creates a very warm and welcoming feeling every time I go to visit his office. It is very apparent that he and his staff love to do what they are doing because of the great quality of work that they do. I will never go to a different dentist as long as Dr. Medaugh is in business. He is kind, caring, honest, and always goes above and beyond, I would recommend him to anyone!!! read more

Dr. Peter Medaugh is a quack who I was referred to in case of emergency when my regular dentist was on vacation. I made the mistake of contacting him. I had a badly infected and very painful tooth that needed to be removed and he did nothing. After having a serious reaction to an antibiotic I left 11 messages for him to call me back and it took about 36 hours till he did. He called the pharmacy and left a garbled message that they could not understand and did not call them back either leaving me in severe pain for the 36 hours while he went off to play. He lied to me about the pharmacy and blamed them for his broken up message, didn't care to follow up and couldn't care less about a person being in horrific pain. Quack is a nice term for him so people should beware. I called another dentist I had seen a couple years ago and she took care of the problem immediately so I will never call Medaugh again and I will not even go back to my regular dentist for referring Medaugh. read more
