I sincerely hope this happens to no one else and hope this review cautions people to avoid the entire NDD chain. I say chain because their Director of Operations has been aware of our communications and this same treatment will likely occur throughout this chain.
A perforated tooth is a risk for any root canal, I understand, but due to Dr. Habil's many moments of negligence throughout my care I now require extraction of my natural tooth, grafting, a sinus lift, and an implant; likely over $6k of MAJOR and invasive oral surgeries that take around a year to complete. I have been in pain for 6 months and have been gaslighted throughout.
Negligent events (not comprehensive):
failure to catch a fracture in my tooth on a pre-op 3D CBCT Xray leading to the wrong treatment plan (Dr. Habil just discovered and notified me about this item last week, 6 months after the root canal),
failure to listen to the pain symptoms I expressed since the first session in February 2023 throughout the 4 session root canal procedure and recognize pain means a failed root canal,
zero initiation of follow-up with me about my pain throughout the process nor afterwards,
failure to catch the perforation post-op on 2 separate follow-up appointments (that I initiated), on 2 separate 3D CBCT Xrays,
and throughout this assuring me with full confidence that her root canal is 100% successful and misdiagnosing that my pain in the root canal tooth is caused by my surrounding teeth, and hyper inflammation of my entire left side of mouth (twice!),
giving me steroids to take to calm down my nerves stating that hopefully I wouldn't need another root canal (if I had not consulted other professionals, they would likely be incorrectly conducting another root canal on me without fixing this one)
also notating I'm belligerent in their chart notes to try to discredit me on the last visit when I was adamant about my pain symptoms and requesting with conviction to be referred to an Endodontist (pulp specialist)
Endodontists identified a perforation with associated bone loss in my jaw bone stating that Dr. Habil drilled off-center from one of my canals and into my jaw bone. Since it has been so long since the procedure and there has been a failure on Dr. Habil's part to follow-up responsibly with me about my repeatedly expressed symptoms, diagnose the strip perforation, and refer me to an Endodontist in a timely manner, I require extraction, sinus lift, and implant.
6 months later, Dr. Habil sends me an email explaining that my Endodontist found a slight fracture in my pre-op 3D CBCT Xray that she missed (my Endodontist's email says there could have been a fracture) and that she should've recommended an extraction that day.
Once again, I feel I am being completely misled by Dr. Habil because this is a half-truth.
If she would have caught this the day I took my pre-op Xray, a referral to an Endodontist with microscopic tools to perform the root canal and place the MTA cement during the root canal would have had a very high success rate of saving my natural tooth, especially if the fracture was "slight".
I have been emotionally, cognitively, financially, and temporally drained by the negligence of this practice for the past 6 months. I am not an expert in the field but I have spoken to very many Dentists and Endodontists throughout this process, which is why I even know these events are negligent in the first place. There are many other moments Dr. Habil has said things that don't make sense according to other experts in the field (Needing to add "medicine to soften the pulp", my pain coming from "nerves not being sealed", etc.) and many other moments of rudeness, negligence, slow replies, ignored phone calls, and more from NDD that I will not detail due to text limit. They are continuing to refuse to take responsibility.
